Abstract

One of the urban wastes classified as organic waste and originating from households is eggshell waste. According to data from the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (2010), egg consumption in the Jakarta Capital City region in 2007 was 240,900,000, -. The higher the amount of egg consumption in the DKI Jakarta area will result in higher eggshell waste produced, especially in the area of Cipinang Melayu Village, East Jakarta, which intersects with Kalimalang as the Citarum sub-watershed. One alternative to dealing with urban eggshell waste which is classified as organic waste, especially in Cipinang Melayu Village, which is located in the Kalimalang River, which is part of the Citarum sub-watershed, is to use egg shells as fertilizer for eggshell flour for nutrition for plants.               The types of plants that can be selected in the research plan this time are shallot plants. The role of onion is very significant in society, therefore at this time it can be developed as a plant that has a dual function, namely as a cooking spice and as a medicinal plant. It is in line with the program of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, in order to meet the daily needs of shallots for household consumption and in the context of not optimal utilization of yards in urban agriculture, so one way to cultivate shallots for urban communities is through the cultivation method pot.               The research focused on cultivating shallot plants in pots and utilizing waste chicken egg shells and duck egg shells. The eggshell waste will be processed so that it becomes organic fertilizer, namely eggshell fertilizer as nutrition for shallot plants. During the research process, from planting onions to harvesting, each stage of growth and development will be observed. This research is expected to be used as input in urban agricultural learning, especially learning materials in the fields of Agricultural Science, Natural Sciences and Environment.Keywords: Eggshells, Ca Fertilizer, Egg Waste, Shallot Plants

Abstract

Cabbage farmers (Brassicaceae) generally use synthetic insecticides to controlling the pest Croccidolomia pavonana (F.) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae). However, the unwise use of synthetic insecticides has negative impacts such as the occurrence of resistance and resurgence of pests and chemical residues in agricultural products. One of alternative strategies that can be adopted to reduce the negative impact of synthetic insecticide use is by utilization of botanical insecticide. The aim of this research was to study the activities of extract Averrhoa bilimbi leaves, Annona squamosa seeds, and Tithonia diversifolia flowers on feeding inhibition C. pavonana larvae. Feeding inhibition effect of three plant extracts was assessed by choice and no choice methods. Extracts of A. squamosa and T. diversifolia resulted in low feeding inhibition effect both on choice and no choice methods.Key words:  Botanical insecticides, cabbage pest, Crocidolomia pavonana (F.), feeding inhibition

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the existing marketing margins in the cauliflower farm in Belendung Village. Analyzing the existing marketing channels in the cauliflower farm in Belendung Village. Analysis of cauliflower farm income on a 0.32 hectare land, the R / C value is 1.8. This indicates that cauliflower farming is profitable or feasible to be developed by farmers. The marketing process of cauliflower from farmers to consumers involves collecting traders, wholesalers and retailers. There are three cauliflower marketing channels in Belendung Village. The largest total profit to cost ratio for each cauliflower marketing channel was channel I at 1.8, channel II at 2.9 and channel III at 3.9. Channel III is the most profitable channel for farmers because it has the highest ratio value. Keywords : Cauliflower, Farming

Abstract

Chrysanthemum is one of cut flowers which are significantly preferred by consumer. The chrysanthemum products increase continually year by year and in 2018 productivity of the plant was up to 488,18 milion stems. The increasing of the products was also affected by altering consumer preference to the products resulted from farmers and growers. To know the changing of market and consumer preference on chrysanthemum products, research on consumer preference on chrysanthemum flowers was carried out. Objective of the research was to know consumer preference on chrysanthemum flowers. The study was conducted from January to April 2020. Data collecting both primary and secondary was carried out by survey method. Respondents were selected purposively, 30 consumers for chrysanthemum in PT Kebun Ciputri Molek. The method of data analysis used in this study is a model of Fishbein’s multi-attribute. The attributes considered most important by respondents were the type of flower attribute, followed by flower color, flower shape, high rigidity, vaselife, size of flower and price. Results of the study, furthermore, can be used as basic of farmers, growers, and breeders in producing the products suitable with market and consumer need.Keywords: Chrysanthemum flowers, consumer preferences, fishbein

Abstract

Sumber bibit tanaman hijauan pakan ternak (HPT) ruminansia seperti rumput odot sangat terbatas disebabkan struktur umur petani dominan sudah tua di atas 45 tahun, minat Pemuda Tani bekerja di bidang pertanian masih rendah, dan mengusahakan pertanian dengan lahan sempit. Secara ekonomis usaha HPT menguntungkan bagi peternak terutama jika menggunakan jenis dan varietas unggul yang memiliki potensi produksi dan kualitas tinggi. Tujuan penelitian adalah: (1) Mengetahui profil sosio-demografis petani responden dalam usahatani pengembangan sumber bibit  tanaman hijauan pakan ternak (HPT)  ruminansia; (2) Mengetahui keuntungan bersih dan kelayakan usaha pengembangan sumber  bibit  tanaman hijauan pakan ternak (HPT) ruminansia. Lokasi penelitian diwilayah Kabupaten Subang, Jawa Barat dan terpilih Kecamatan Cipunagara di dua desa ( Desa Padamulya, dan Desa Wanasari), dan Kecamatan Pegaden Barat di Desa Bendungan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Juli  - September  2017. Penetapan sampel berjumlah 35 orang  dengan teknik “Purposive”. Analisis data dengan “statistik deskriptif”(descriptive statistics). Hasil penelitian , yaitu: (1)   Sebagian besar responden usia  produktif (  15 – 60 tahun ) diantaranya yang dominan adalah non-Pemuda Tani usia >30 tahun ( 91% ) dihawatirkan dapat mengancam keberlanjutan pembangunan pertaniankhususnya  sub sektor peternakan; (2) Pendapatan usaha  HPT rumput odot memadahi dan layak untuk diperluas serta  dilanjutkan.Kata Kunci: Sosio Demografis, Pendapatan Petani, Bibit Hijauan Pakan Ternak.
