Abstract

This article analyses the regulations and policies that contribute to the expansion of hospitals' legal responsibilities in Indonesia, with a focus on protecting patients' rights and improving the quality of health services. The main regulations that direct such legal responsibilities include Law No. 44/2009 on Hospitals and Law No. 36/2009 on Health, which regulate service standards and hospitals' obligations to ensure patient safety and security. In addition, a hospital accreditation system was also introduced as an effort to ensure high service quality and minimise legal risks. However, the implementation of these regulations faces challenges in the field, with some hospitals still experiencing difficulties in meeting the set standards, especially in resource-constrained regions. This study concludes that increased supervision, stronger regulatory support, and comprehensive education strategies are needed to improve compliance and quality of hospital services in Indonesia, so as to provide safe, quality, and equitable health services for the entire community.

Abstract

Integrating nutrition education into the school curriculum is an important step in improving students‘ health and well-being. This study examines the benefits and implementation of nutrition education in schools. The results show that effective nutrition education can increase students’ knowledge of balanced nutrition, help them make better food choices, and reduce the risk of nutrition-related diseases such as obesity and diabetes. The implementation involves practical activities, such as cooking and gardening, which help students apply theory to everyday life. In addition, school policies that support healthy food can reinforce lessons taught in the classroom. Therefore, nutrition education in the school curriculum not only improves students' nutrition and health but also creates positive synergies between schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

This article examines the comparative legal protection for patients in different countries by conducting a comprehensive literature review. The analysis shows that there is great variation in the legal protection provided, influenced by each country's level of economic development, health system, and government policies. Developed countries generally have more comprehensive legal frameworks that protect patients' rights, including the right to medical information, informed consent, and effective grievance mechanisms. In developing countries, legal protection for patients is often weaker due to limited resources and infrastructure. This study recommends increased public awareness of patients' rights, training for medical personnel, and international co-operation to set global standards, in order to strengthen legal protection for patients globally.

Abstract

The role of law in regulating hospital responsibilities in the pandemic era is a very critical aspect to ensure the quality of health services, protection of patient rights, and safety of medical personnel. The law serves as a foundation in setting service standards and protocols that hospitals must adhere to in order to face the challenges posed by the pandemic. In addition, existing laws also protect the rights of patients, including the right to medical information, proper care, and safety while receiving treatment. On the other hand, legal protection for medical personnel is essential to ensure their health and safety at work. With clear and firm regulations in place, all parties involved in the health system-from hospitals, patients, to medical personnel-can work together optimally, creating a safe and effective health system in the midst of a pandemic.

Abstract

This study examines the legal protection for medical personnel in the face of malpractice cases in Indonesia, focusing on the applicable regulations, dispute resolution mechanisms, and implementation challenges. Through analysis of the Medical Practice Act and the Health Act, it is found that these regulations provide a sufficient legal framework for the protection of medical personnel. Malpractice dispute resolution can be done through mediation and arbitration as an alternative to litigation, which is expected to be faster and fairer. However, there are challenges in the understanding and implementation of the regulations by medical personnel, as well as the need for increased education and socialisation on their legal rights. This study emphasises the important role of medical professional bodies in providing legal support to ensure effective protection and maintenance of quality medical services in Indonesia.

Abstract

The expansion of hospitals' legal responsibilities plays an important role in improving the quality of healthcare services. With greater accountability, hospitals are encouraged to implement higher standards of care, comply with regulations, and ensure patient safety and satisfaction. However, it can also add administrative burdens and pressure on hospital resources, which if managed inefficiently, can hamper flexibility and innovation. Therefore, the successful implementation of expanded legal responsibility relies heavily on effective management to ensure that increased accountability is directly proportional to improved quality of care without compromising operational efficiency.

Abstract

This research examines the comparative legal liability of hospitals in Indonesia with ASEAN countries. The analysis shows that there are significant differences in regulatory and supervisory frameworks between countries in the region. Indonesia still relies on a national regulatory system, whereas some countries such as Singapore and Malaysia use an international approach by involving independent accreditation bodies. Differences are also seen in the handling of malpractice cases and professional liability, where countries with more developed health insurance systems offer better protection for patients and institutions. The study concludes that Indonesia needs to strengthen accreditation standards and insurance coverage to improve the quality of care and competitiveness of its hospitals at the regional level.

Abstract

The expansion of legal responsibilities in hospitals with the highest accreditation emphasises improved standards of care under stricter regulations. Hospitals with such accreditation must adhere to safety protocols, improve risk management, and ensure effective infection control. A commitment to handle medical complaints or disputes in a transparent and professional manner is part of the expanded legal responsibility, which aims to build patient trust and prevent lawsuits. In addition, strengthening documentation systems, internal audits, and staff training are essential to fulfil national and international standards, support hospitals in facing legal challenges, and ensure the quality and safety of healthcare services provided.

Abstract

Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedure is an essential hazardous energy control method in preventing work accidents during machine maintenance and repair activities in the manufacturing industry. This study aims to analyze the implementation of LOTO as a work accident prevention strategy, by reviewing various studies that have been conducted in the Indonesian manufacturing industry. The results of the analysis indicate that effective LOTO implementation is influenced by factors such as worker knowledge and attitudes, adequate training, and consistent management supervision and policies. Although several companies have adopted the LOTO procedure, challenges such as lack of understanding, limited resources, and non-compliance with the procedure are still encountered. Therefore, ongoing commitment from management and active participation of workers are needed to ensure the effectiveness of LOTO in preventing work accidents.
