Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mechanism of medical dispute resolution between patients and health professionals in Indonesia by comparing professional and judicial channels through a normative legal literature review approach. The analysis reveals that the professional route, such as through the Indonesian Medical Disciplinary Honour Council (MKDKI) and other non-litigious resolution mechanisms, is more consultative, faster, administrative in nature, and maintains confidentiality for all parties, but remains limited in terms of compensation for patients. Conversely, the court system offers litigation mechanisms with final and binding decisions and the potential for compensation for patients, but carries risks of high costs, lengthy processes, and psychological impacts on both patients and healthcare workers. Both contribute to protecting the rights of patients and healthcare workers, but further regulatory strengthening and synergy between the two mechanisms are needed to achieve more fair, effective, and restorative justice-oriented resolution of medical disputes in Indonesia.

Abstract

Futsal is a sport that requires high physical fitness, especially good cardiorespiratory endurance to support player performance during matches. One indicator that can influence cardiorespiratory endurance is Body Mass Index (BMI), which describes a person's nutritional status and body composition. This study aims to investigate the relationship between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. The research employed a quantitativeapproach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 30 participants selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cardiorespiratory endurance was measured using the Harvard step test, and body mass index was calculated using the BMI formula. The results of the Spearman rank test indicated a significant negative correlation between BMI and cardiorespiratory endurance (r = -0.504; p = 0.005). This means that as BMI increases, cardiorespiratory endurance decreases. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) and cardiorespiratory endurance in futsal players at Bali International University.

Abstract

Sugar sweetened beverages (SSBs) are drinks with added sugar. Highly consumption SSBs can lead to weight gain, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and several types of cancer. One factor influencing sugar sweetened beverage consumption is exposure to mass media advertising. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of advertising exposure related to sugar sweetened beverages in young adults. The research method was observational with a cross-sectional design. The total sample in this study was 158 samples with the criteria of young adults (19-29 years) domiciled in the Riau Islands. Data collected were sources of information exposure obtained by respondents regarding sugar sweetened beverages, including print media, social media, television, and all media. The results showed that social media was the most dominant medium in conveying information about sugar sweetened beverages in the young adults group at 81.6%. Further research is recommended to explore the correlation between advertising exposure and levels of sugar sweetened beverages consumption in young adults. In addition, a digital-based nutritional literacy program is needed to improve the negative impacts of sugar sweetened beverage consumption.

Abstract

Falls are among the most frequent and serious incidents in healthcare facilities, leading to increased morbidity, mortality, length of stay, and healthcare costs. Preventing falls is therefore a major priority in patient safety. This review aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of hourly rounding (HR) as an evidence-based strategy to reduce fall rates. A narrative review was conducted across multiple quality improvement projects, quasi-experimental studies, and literature reviews that implemented HR using the 5Ps approach (pain, position, potty, possessions, pumps). Findings indicated that HR reduced fall rates by up to 55% in some studies, although not always with statistical significance. Consistent benefits included enhanced staff accountability, improved patient satisfaction, and a strengthened culture of safety. Limitations noted were small sample sizes, short implementation periods, and variability in staff adherence. Conclusion: HR is a proactive nursing strategy that contributes to safer care environments and has the potential to reduce patient falls. Further research is needed to assess long-term sustainability, larger sample sizes, and integration with multifactorial fall prevention strategies.

Abstract

Nursing handover is essential to ensure continuity of care and patient safety; however, it is often hindered by ineffective communication, low compliance, and lack of supervision. This review aims to examine the role of head nurse supervision and clinical supervision models in improving the quality of handovers based on SBAR/ISBAR. The methods applied include cross-sectional design, experimental pre–post test, literature review, as well as observation and interviews, with both quantitative statistical and qualitative thematic analyses. The findings show that supervision is significantly related to compliance and handover effectiveness, while the implementation of clinical supervision models enhances nurses’ self-efficacy, communication clarity, and handover skills. Monitoring and evaluation based on regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs) also proved effective in improving service quality and reducing safety incidents. In conclusion, structured supervision plays a crucial role in optimizing nursing handover. Further research is recommended to explore the integration of digital technology into supervision and its impact on patient outcomes.
