Abstract

Community service through the Student Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of higher education contribution to help communities address various social issues in their local environment. The KKN program of Group 42 in Kedung Pengawas Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, was implemented to respond to community needs in three main areas: children’s financial literacy, strengthening micro-enterprise identity, and improving community digital literacy. This topic was chosen because children still had limited understanding of financial management from an early age, micro-enterprise actors faced constraints in building their business image, and cases of digital fraud that harmed the community were increasing. The implementation methods included field observation, community needs identification, and a participatory approach through the “Gerakan Gemar Menabung” program for elementary school students, UMKM rebranding assistance through banner creation, and digital scam prevention education for residents. The results showed an increase in children’s understanding of the importance of saving, improved visual appeal and business identity for UMKM, and greater community awareness of online fraud schemes. This activity demonstrates that KKN programs designed according to community needs can provide tangible benefits in supporting.

Abstract

Household waste remains an environmental challenge faced by many regions, including Kedung Pengawas Village, Babelan Subdistrict, Bekasi Regency. Low community awareness of waste separation and management has led to an increase in waste generation with potential negative impacts on the environment. This community service activity aims to raise public awareness about the importance of waste management through a community-based waste bank empowerment program. The methods used include field observation, problem identification, program planning, implementation of activities, and evaluation. The program was carried out by establishing waste bank facilities on June 7, 2026, and conducting outreach and education on waste management on June 13, 2026, involving 14 students from Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya's Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata). The results indicate that the waste bank program was able to improve the community's understanding of the importance of waste separation, household waste management, and the utilization of waste with economic value. The community's enthusiasm and participation during the activities demonstrate increased environmental awareness and readiness to support more sustainable waste management. This program is a first step toward encouraging community participation in community-based environmental management and supporting a cleaner, healthier environment in Kedung Pengawas Village.

Abstract

Community Service Learning (KKN) is a learning program that integrates the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with learning and working experiences in the community, with the aim of empowering the community. We, the KKN Group 60 from Bhayangkara University of Greater Jakarta, had the opportunity to conduct KKN activities in Muara Bakti Village, RT.03, by adopting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Based on observations conducted on-site, the environmental conditions in RT.03 of Muara Bakti Village still require in-depth review, particularly regarding environmental cleanliness, area planning, and local economic opportunities such as those for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have not yet been fully utilized. Therefore, we will implement four main programs: installing a village gate, organizing a community service event, putting up SME banners, and installing a sign for the mosque. Using a descriptive method and a participatory approach, information was collected through direct observation, interviews, and documentation, drawing on primary data from the field and secondary data from various academic sources. Based on the results, these program activities have provided positive benefits for local residents: the construction of the village gate and the installation of the mosque sign have strengthened the village’s identity; the community service activities and cleanup of the mosque area have contributed to a cleaner environment; and the installation of promotional banners for SMEs has helped increase business exposure.
