Abstract

Used cooking oil is household waste that is often disposed of directly into the environment, thus potentially polluting water and soil. On the other hand, used cooking oil contains triglycerides which can still be used as raw material for biodiesel through the transesterification process. The global energy crisis and increasing awareness of the environmental impact of fossil fuels have driven the development of biodiesel as an environmentally friendly and renewable alternative energy source. This study aims to optimize the process parameters for making biodiesel based on used cooking oil using calcium oxide (CaO) catalyst with a concentration of 0.5 N. The research variations included reaction times of 40, 60, and 80 minutes and stirring speeds of 200, 300, and 400 rpm at a reaction temperature of 50 °C and a molar ratio of methanol to oil of 6:1. The results showed that reaction time and stirring speed significantly influenced the yield percentage and quality of biodiesel. The optimum conditions were obtained at a reaction time of 40 minutes and a stirring speed of 400 rpm, with a yield of 82.61%. The resulting biodiesel has physical characteristics according to SNI 7182:2015 standards, including a density of 870–889 kg/m³, a viscosity of 0.30–0.41 cP, a flash point above 139 °C, and a cetane number of up to 51.1. This indicates that the use of CaO catalyst is effective in improving the performance of the transesterification reaction and producing good-quality biodiesel. Furthermore, operational parameters such as reaction time and stirring speed have been shown to play a critical role in determining conversion efficiency and biodiesel quality. Overall, this research confirms the potential of used cooking oil as an economical renewable energy source and an environmental solution for waste management. The process also has the potential to be further developed for larger- scale production and community applications.

Abstract

The research problem in this article is how Sufism saves our environment. The research method used is a qualitative paradigm with an interpretative-hermeneutic approach based on a Sufi perspective. The results show that the environmental crisis currently gripping the world is not only a scientific and technical issue, but also a profound spiritual crisis. Data on Indonesian deforestation in 2025, which reached 433,751 hectares, an increase of 66%, shows how urgent a paradigm shift in managing nature is. The secular and materialist approaches that have been dominant have proven unable to address the root of the problem, namely the loss of awareness of the unity between humans, nature, and God. Research on the role of Sufism in saving the environment is not only academically relevant but also practically urgent. Amid the global climate crisis and increasing deforestation, Sufism can be a bridge between spiritual beliefs and sustainable ecological action. The inner transformation offered by Sufism can create voluntary and profound behavioral changes. Ultimately, saving the environment through Sufism is not only a technical task, but a form of the highest worship. Preserving nature means preserving God’s kauniyah verses and fulfilling the mandate as a caliph on earth.

Abstract

The National Police has a vital function in maintaining security and public order with five main operational functions: intelligence, investigation, community, guidance, traffic, and bhayangkara samapta. Job stress influences police performance, and understanding job stress in the context of the police profession is important for developing effective strestegies and supports. Factors that influence work stress include excessive workload, time pressure, and interpersonal conflict. This research aims to determine the relationship between job demands and work stress among members of the National Police. Qualitative research methods are used to understand individual experiences and perceptions.

Abstract

Learning the Mechanics Engineering course at the undergraduate level of Building Engineering Education requires a profound understanding of the basic concepts of structure and the forces at work within structural systems. However, students often encounter difficulties in visualizing and analyzing structures comprehensively. This research introduces a novel approach utilizing structural analysis software such as Robot Structure, SAP2000, and ETABS to enhance students' understanding of mechanical engineering. By involving the application of the latest structural analysis software in teaching, it enables students to interactively manipulate structural models and observe the eflects of various forces and loads. This article delineates the implementation of this approach within the curriculum of the Mechanics Engineering course and evaluates its impact on students' understanding and performance. The results indicate a significant improvement in students' understanding of structural concepts and analytical abilities, as well as an increase in their interest and motivation in learning. This research provides valuable insights into the potential use of technology to enhance the eflectiveness of learning in the field of civil engineering.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the eflectiveness of pastoral counseling approach focusing on the teachings of Isaiah 41:10 in building individual's mental resilience during crisis periods. Using a qualitative approach and case study research method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with pastoral counselors and individuals who have received pastoral counseling services. Data analysis was conducted using thematic approach to identify common patterns in respondents' experiences and perceptions regarding the development of mental resilience based on the teachings of Isaiah 41:10. The results of the study indicate that the pastoral counseling approach based on the teachings of Isaiah 41:10 has a positive impact in building individual's mental resilience during crisis periods. The principles of faith, strength, and peace contained in the verse provide a solid foundation for the pastoral counseling process. Pastoral counseling techniques such as faith-based cognitive-behavioral therapy, spiritual meditation, and practices of prayer and spiritual reflection have been proven eflective in helping individuals overcome challenges, find inner peace, and strengthen their faith. These findings contribute significantly to the field of pastoral counseling, emphasizing the importance of integrating spiritual dimension in building individual's mental resilience during crisis periods. The practical implications of this research can be used by pastoral counselors in designing and implementing counseling programs focusing on strengthening individuals' faith and mental resilience, utilizing the teachings and principles contained in Isaiah 41:10.

Abstract

From now on, active learning techniques are being used. The teacher's role during the learning process is typically described as providing explanations of the subject matter and engaging in passive student listening. This page discusses active learning, particularly at vocational high schools, and attempts to give as many instances and an overview of applied learning in the classroom as it can. Descriptive analysis is the technique employed. In conclusion, Indonesian schools will adopt new active learning practices that will make even the most reticent pupils participate and fully value the learning process. Active learning, attentive instruction, and careful planning will improve the quality of learning by drawing students' attention to the learning process and giving them the chance to ask questions, have discussions, and make good use of the newly acquired knowledge while being approachable. The fact that this form of learning management exists could have an effect at the studying outcomes that students achieve.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the role of Christian theology in building and maintaining religious tolerance in Toraja, a region known for its religious diversity and rich local culture. The main problem studied is how the church and Christian teachings can respond to social dynamics and the challenges of modernization without losing the values of love and peace. The method used in this study is a literature study, by reviewing related theological, anthropological, and sociological sources. The results of the study show that the contextualization of Christian theology based on local values such as mutual cooperation, respect for ancestors, and togetherness, can strengthen the practice of tolerance in a pluralistic society. In addition, the local church has been shown to play a strategic role in education, social services, and interfaith dialogue. This study emphasizes the importance of an open, inclusive, and contextual theological approach as an effective means of maintaining harmony between religious communities in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in building students' communication ethics awareness in the digital era, focusing on grade 10 students at Assyafiiyah High School. The digital era brings new challenges, such as the spread of hoaxes, hate speech, and online bullying, which are often fuelled by anonymity in cyberspace. PAI teachers have a strategic role as moral mentors in integrating religious values with digital literacy to shape student character. This study used mixed methods combining qualitative and quantitative approaches through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. The results showed that students' understanding of Islamic communication ethics has a significant positive relationship with the impact of Islamic education on their awareness. The teaching strategies applied include integrating religious values in learning, modeling, case studies, wise use of digital media, and personal approach and counselling. School policies such as the prohibition of playing mobile phones during class also positively impact students' character building. This research confirms the importance of religious value-based education as an effective solution to face communication challenges in the digital era and form a generation with noble character.

Abstract

In the subject of Soil Mechanics & Road Engineering, students only receive instruction from teachers and do not have the opportunity to learn freely or systematically. Therefore, the education system should be more interactive and engaging to enable students to learn more freely and systematically. Teachers should have the ability to make the material more interesting and influential so that students can understand it better. The method used is Literature Review, which involves collecting and analyzing data from various sources of literature, such as articles, books, slides, and internet information, is known as a literature review process. Literature review is used in road engineering education to support students' knowledge and skills. In the subject of Soil Mechanics & Road Engineering, the application of project-based learning with a constructivist approach is an appropriate choice. This approach enhances learning performance and helps students achieve their learning goals. According to the project, learning increases students' ability to solve transportation problems in the field, enhances their teamwork skills, increases their enthusiasm, and makes them more independent and creative.

Abstract

This article discusses the strategic role of Christian Religious Education (PAK) based on practical theology in shaping students' discipline and spirituality amidst the current of globalization and moral crisis. Religious education is not only understood as doctrinal teaching, but as a process of life transformation that touches on cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library study method, analyzing various theological and Christian education literature, as well as observational data from learning practices in Christian schools. The results of the study show that the integration of faith values into the curriculum, school culture, and teacher role models can foster discipline as a form of spiritual awareness, not just formal obedience. Meanwhile, students' spirituality is built through a personal relationship with God expressed in prayer, worship, service, and social ethics. Practical theology becomes a bridge between faith and everyday life, helping students actualize Christian teachings in real terms. The conclusion of this article emphasizes that the implementation of PAK based on practical theology is very relevant and urgent to create a generation that is strong in faith, character, and social responsibility. The contribution of this research is expected to be a reference for Christian schools in building an educational ecosystem that humanizes the whole.
