Abstract

This article aims to lexically analyze the term rā’ in Isaiah 45:7 and examine its implications for the theology of divine sovereignty. The main problem studied is how to understand the use of the word rā’, which in some translations is often equated with “evil,” thus raising theological questions about God’s relationship with evil. This research uses a qualitative approach through analysis of the Hebrew text, a study of the historical context of Deutero-Isaiah, and dialogue with Indonesian Old Testament theological literature. The results of the study show that lexically rā’ has a broad spectrum of meanings and in the context of Isaiah 45:7 is more appropriately understood as a historical calamity or tribulation, rather than a moral evil. The parallelism structure of Hebrew poetry and the background of the Babylonian exile reinforce this meaning as part of the affirmation of monotheism and God’s sovereignty over history. The theological implications emphasize that divine sovereignty encompasses all of reality without making God the source of sin.

Abstract

This study examines the militaristic representation of the female figure in Song of Songs 6:10 through an iconographic exegesis approach within the context of the ancient Near East. The central problem addressed is how the depiction “awesome as an army with banners” can be more deeply understood when situated within the visual-cultural matrix of ancient civilizations. The study employs a qualitative interpretive method combining linguistic-semantic analysis of the Hebrew text, comparative iconographic inquiry, historical-critical analysis, and intertextual reading. Primary data derives from the Hebrew text of Song of Songs 6:10, while secondary data is drawn from biblical, archaeological, and feminist theological literature. Results reveal that this militaristic imagery bears strong parallels to iconographic depictions of warrior goddesses from Mesopotamian, Canaanite, and Egyptian traditions, each simultaneously embodying beauty and cosmic power. This study concludes that the militaristic representation in Song of Songs 6:10 is not merely poetic ornamentation, but a theological statement positioning the female figure as a sovereign and dignified cosmic entity, while providing an iconographic foundation for gender-balanced interpretation of the Old Testament.

Abstract

This study discusses the understanding of the doctrine of the Trinity in Christian theology and its implications for the faith life of believers. The doctrine of the Trinity, which states that God is one essence in three persons, namely the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, serves as a fundamental foundation that not only explains the nature of God but also forms the basis of relationship and love in the life of faith. Through a qualitative theological approach and literature analysis, this study explores and analyzes how the understanding of the Trinity influences the practices of prayer, worship, and the daily lives of Christians. The results show that the doctrine of the Trinity is not only an important theological aspect but also a practical source of inspiration that strengthens the relationship between humans, God, and others in a life full of meaning and love.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze user satisfaction toward the SIMAK Website of Sepuluh Nopember University of Papua version 1.1.7 using the End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) approach. SIMAK is a crucial platform in supporting students' academic activities, yet several issues persist in its implementation, such as an unfriendly interface, slow system response, and difficulty accessing features during crucial periods like course registration. This research involved 111 respondents including students, lecturers, staff, and system operators, using a questionnaire based on five EUCS dimensions: Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, and Timeliness. The validity test confirmed that all questionnaire items are valid, while reliability analysis showed Cronbach’s Alpha values above 0.9, indicating high internal consistency. The multiple linear regression results revealed that all independent variables significantly affect user satisfaction, with an R Square of 0.999, meaning the model explains 99.9% of the variance in user satisfaction. Among all factors, Accuracy emerged as the most dominant influence. Classical assumption testing confirmed that the regression model met the requirements of normality and homoscedasticity. Based on these findings, it is recommended to enhance data accuracy, improve content presentation to be more engaging and accessible, and optimize real-time system performance to support a better user experience.

Abstract

This research goals to verify in depth how the people of Cikondang Traditional Village in Lamajang Village, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency, maintain ancestral traditions in the midst of a stronger trend of modernization. The main issue raised is the extent to which cultural values, customary laws, and traditional social structures are still able to survive and be implemented consistently in the midst of changes in lifestyles and global technology. Apply a descriptive case study method also a qualitative approach, which allows researchers to understand the meaning and cultural practice holistically. Data was obtained by participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, also documentation of traditional activities, with key sources such as traditional figures, traditional assistants, and the younger generation. The research results show that the Cikondang community is able to maintain the continuity of tradition through a non-coercive customary law system, a traditional deliberation mechanism, and value regeneration through the active involvement of youth in cultural activities. In addition, people also make limited adaptations to digital media as a means of traditional documentation, while maintaining the boundaries of traditional ethics. Tradition functions as a dynamic, spiritual, and contextual system of ethics and social law.

Abstract

Sunkist orange (Citrus sinensis L.) is known to contain various secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, phenols, essential oils, tannins, terpenoids, and steroids, which contribute to its biological activities, particularly as antioxidants. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the antioxidant activity of young and mature Sunkist orange peel extracts using the DPPH (2,2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. Peel samples were extracted via maceration with 96% ethanol, and antioxidant activity was measured at concentrations of 5, 10, 20, and 40 ppm, with vitamin C (0.5, 1, 2, and 4 ppm) serving as the positive control. The results indicated that antioxidant activity increased with concentration. The IC₅₀ values obtained were 114.73 ppm for young peel extract, 54.32 ppm for mature peel extract, and 7.10 ppm for vitamin C. Based on these results, young peel extract exhibited moderate antioxidant activity, while mature peel extract demonstrated strong antioxidant activity. The higher antioxidant capacity of mature peel is likely associated with increased flavonoid and phenolic content during ripening. These findings highlight the potential of mature Sunkist orange peel, often regarded as agricultural waste, as a sustainable natural source of antioxidants for pharmaceutical and food applications.
