Abstract

Madrasah as one of Islamic education in Indonesia has a long history in this nation. Formally, madrasah is developed as a response toward two important conditions, those are the reformation of Islam in Indonesia and education under supervision of Dutch. The implication of such condition in modern era is the issue of the decree of three ministers that reduce the problem dualism in education and theimprovement of the quality of madrasah. The issue of such decree is a stepping point to integrate madrasah to the national system of education.

Abstract

The curriculum in education serves as the foundation for the learning process at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels. This article explores the curriculum models used in Primary Schools (SD), Islamic Primary Schools (MI), Junior High Schools (SMP), and Islamic Junior High Schools (MTs), along with the diflerences between them. Through literature review and comparative analysis, this article identifies the approaches, structures, and learning focuses of each curriculum model. Understanding these diflerences allows for an appreciation of diversity in education and evaluation of the strengths and challenges associated with each curriculum model.

Abstract

This study examines the evaluation system of Islamic boarding schools in facing the challenges of the future of Islam. The main focus is to analyse the need to update the evaluation method to adapt to the times without losing the traditional values of pesantren. The methodology used includes literature study, comparative analysis, and interviews with Islamic education experts. The results showed the need for a more comprehensive evaluation system, covering aspects of religious knowledge, life skills, and readiness to face the digital era. Recommendations include using technology in evaluation, continuous assessment and involving various stakeholders. In conclusion, the proposed evaluation system aims to produce pesantren graduates who are not only experts in religious knowledge but also able to contribute positively in the global society, while still maintaining the identity and values of pesantren.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum material is an integral part of curriculum development in schools and madrasas. The PAI curriculum consists of facts, concepts, principles, laws and skills which aim to develop students' potential holistically, including cognitive, aflective and psychomotor potential. The meaning of "curriculum" comes from the Greek "currere" which means running distance, which was then applied in the field of education. In Arabic, "curriculum" is defined as Manhaj, namely the clear path that humans traverse in their lives. The principles in developing the PAI curriculum include perfect linkage with religious teachings, universal objectives of curriculum material, relative balance between curriculum objectives and content, connection with students' talents, interests, abilities and needs, maintenance of students' individual diflerences, development and change, and the link between subjects, experiences, and activities in the curriculum. Thus, the development of PAI curriculum materials is an important basis for achieving the goals of quality Islamic education

Abstract

The aim of this research was to enhancing students’ writing skill in third semester by adding Instagram caption on the students’ process in teaching and learning. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative research to describe the effectiveness of Instagram captions to enhacing students’ writing skill in third semester of Tadris English language. The research was conducted as Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam mempawah in academic year 2024-2025. It was selected by the researcher based on the backgound of the students knowledge in writing skill. In this research, the researchen found that the students face some difficulties in writing English text. In collecting data, the researcher used were observation and interview the students in third semester. The observation one class only. Most of the students in the classroom are eight students. Three students male and five students are female. The researcher found that the students still difficult to write in some sentencess especially make a caption in their status story in Instagram. The puppose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of Instagram caption in increasing students writing skill. Based on the explanation and result of the student’s write caption on Instagram, the researcher found that writing captions on Instagram is indeed effective in improving student’s writing skill.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic values in cultural history education and its role in shaping character-building generations amid the challenges of globalisation. Through literature analysis and a qualitative approach, this study found that Islamic values such as noble character, honesty, responsibility, and tolerance can be internalised in cultural history education. Amidst the onslaught of globalisation, which presents various challenges such as materialism and individualism, education based on Islamic values serves as a bulwark to preserve cultural and religious identity. The results of this study indicate that the integration of Islamic values in cultural history education not only enriches students' knowledge but also shapes a strong, principled, and adaptable personality in the face of global change. Thus, education that prioritises Islamic values plays a crucial role in nurturing a generation capable of harmoniously blending Islamic traditions with global dynamics.

Abstract

This study is an action research aimed at improving the learning outcomes of in the Social and Natural Sciences (IPAS) subject on the topic of the Greenhouse Effect among Grade IV D students at SDN Pakis 01 Surabaya, consisting of 28 students. The data collection methods used included observation, tests, and documentation. The approach applied was the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. The research results showed that the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach significantly improved students' learning outcomes in the IPAS subject on the greenhouse effect topic. The pre-cycle results showed a mastery level of 46.43%, which increased to 60.71% in Cycle I, and further rose to 89.28% in Cycle II. The implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach successfully achieved the targeted outcomes and effectively improved IPAS learning results for Grade IV D students at SDN Pakis 01 Surabaya in the 2024/2025 academic year. The Culturally Responsive Teaching approach integrates students' values, habits, and cultural backgrounds into the learning process, making learning more relevant, meaningful, and empowering for students.

Abstract

Addiction is a psychological disorder marked by reliance on a drug or behaviour that yields transient pleasure but results in detrimental long-term consequences. Addiction exerts profound and extensive impacts on individuals, families, and society at large, necessitating intervention. Addiction can adversely affect an individual's physical and mental well-being, diminish productivity, and impair social and emotional functioning. This study aims to elucidate psychological methodologies, including cognitive, behaviouristic, psychoanalytic, and biological techniques, employed in the treatment of addiction. This study employs a literature review methodology.

Abstract

The low ability of students in understanding the concept of flat area is a problem that is often found in elementary schools. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Teaching at the Right Level (TARL) approach in improving the learning outcomes of fourth grade students on the material of flat area. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) with a design that includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fourth grade students with a total of 28 students. Data collection was done through learning outcome tests, student activity observations, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in students' ability to understand the concept of flat area after the implementation of the TARL approach. In the pre-action stage, the average student score only reached 65.3 with 42.8% learning completeness. After the implementation of TARL, in cycle I the average score increased to 75.6 with 67.9% learning completeness, and in cycle II it reached 85.4 with 89.3% learning completeness. The TARL approach proved to be effective in identifying students' individual ability levels, providing appropriate scaffolding, and improving students' conceptual understanding and mathematics learning outcomes on flat area material.

Abstract

In today's higher education setting, the integration of online learning has profoundly transformed pedagogical practices, particularly in Science, Technology, and Society (STS) education. This study investigates students' preferences for online learning in the context of STS at a state university in the Philippines. Using a researcher-developed questionnaire focused on Modality, Assessment, Relevance, and Interaction (MARIQ), the research examines various aspects of online learning methods and assessment practices. The study reveals that students prefer asynchronous learning modes and multimedia-rich content to enhance engagement and comprehension. These insights are vital for shaping curriculum design and instructional strategies, with an emphasis on the need for adaptable assessment methods and interactive learning platforms. Additionally, the study addresses challenges such as maintaining student engagement and improving technological competencies. It suggests potential areas for future research in adaptive technologies and innovative teaching approaches to further enhance STS education.
