Abstract

The purpose   of  this  work  is,  to  determine  the  role  of  supportcomposite polysuljone  -  cellulose  acetate  membrane  in separating textile dyes. The subject is the textile dyes, and the object is dispersing textile dyes. The solution  of the textile dyes (red, yellow  and blue) made as wastewater from  textile industry. It can be concluded that the support composite polysuljone  - cellulose acetate membrane showed good permeability and high permsefectivity in separating textile dyes.

Abstract

This  research   is   aimed   to   determine   the   differences   of   chipcompression ratio and tool wear between a modified double cuttingtool and a standard cutting tool. The workpiece is made of VCN 150 with a dimension of e 1,75 inchand 200 mm long. Because the diameter of the blank is constant, the spindle rotation is set to 265 RPM  Both cutters use the same coolant and have the same  cutting angle.  The properties  to be varied are depth  of  cuts  and feed   Depth  of  cuts  of standard  cutting  tool  is formulated by the blank diameter substituted by the final diameter and than divided by two. The same formulation  goes for  depth of cuts of modified cutting tool. Tool wears and chip compression ratio values chosen  is  the  biggest  value  on  each  cutting  edge.  Steps  of  this research one: Record the tool wear and chip compression ratio for each feed,  which one 0,043; 0,066; 0,0875; and 0,/75  mmlrev while using depth of cuts of 0,5; I; 1,5 and 2 mm. Each treatment is done 5 times or each cutting stroke  and the average  is  taken  as a result. Comparing tool wear and chip compression ratio resulted from  the utilization of modified cutting tool and standard tool.It can be concluded from  the result  of this research  that (I)  using modified cutting tool, there is an improvement of chip compression ratio  equal  to  6,74%   compared  to  the  standard  cutter  (2)  using modified cutting tool there is a reduction tool wear equals to 14,53% compared the standard cutting /001.

Abstract

Synthesis  dibenzyl terephathalate were done through PET softdrinkbottles   degradation   by   refluxing   in   benzyl   alcohol   at   14~C temperature for 20, 24. and 28 hours in the presence  of zinc acetate catalyst. The result of degradation was purified  by recristalization in methanol and then melting point  (mp), FTIR, I H NMR spectra, and TLC spot were determined. The melting point of product degradation.for   28   hours  was  98-99  "c.  Based   FTIR  spectra   known  thatcompounds  of  product   degradation  have   OH,  C=O,  C-O,  CH,monosubstituted benzene, disubstituted benzene groups,  while on IH NMR spectra showed chemical shift at 8.2 ppm  (s, IO H of monosubtituted benzene), 7.5 ppm (s, 9 H consist of 4 H disubstituted benzene and 5 H of aromatic benzyl alcohol), 5.4 ppm  (s, 1 H from OH benzyl alcohol), 4.8 ppm (s, 4 H of methylene), and 2.9 ppm (s. 7H of other traces). The single spot ofTLC plate indicated that productdegradation for  28 hours might be a single compound. Based these characterization  concluded  that  compound  of product  degradation was dibenzyl terephthalate contains benzyl alcohol and other traces.

Abstract

This   research   with   the   title   Thin   Layer   Chromatography  for Determination of Hesperidins Content in Orange Peel has been done in organic chemistry laboratory. The aim of this research is to select the solvent mix for  the best hesperidins standard peak result and to determinate the content (in relative percentage) of some orange peel. Hesperidins isolation from  orange peel conduct by soaks the orange peel piece  in f 0% Calcium hydroxide solution for  a night in room temperature.    The   mixture   than  jiltered    and   neutralized   with hydrochloric acid to obtain hesperidins contain filtrate.  Hesperidins analyzed   by   thin   layer   chromatography.    Characterization   of hesperidins did by compare the sample chromatogram with standard chromatogram.  The yield  (in  relative  percentage)   determinate  by  compare the sample peak area with hesperidins standard peak area. The solvent  mix  selected  before  by  attempt  some  solvent  mix for eludate hesperidins standard solution. The result of this research shown that hesperidins can analyzed using thin   layer   chromatography   method.   with   the   best  solvent   was chloroform:  methanol mixture (2 : 3). Hesperidins content in extract solution of some strain orange peel  is; Baby Egypt 0, f 380%, Baby Pacitan 0,0615%, Mandarin Lokam 0,0018%, Santang 0,0049%, and Sunkist  Nevel 0,0360%.  The hesperidins  content  in orange peel  of Mandarin Pakistan, Medan super, Nipis, Sunkist,  Peras, and Purut was 0,0000. The hesperidins content in these orange peel was too low to be detected
