Abstract

Goblin is one of the most popular South Korean drama series in the end of 2016 until the beginning of 2017. In the middle of its popularity, Goblin got several critiques for showing love story between a high school girl with an adult man and being judged strengthening the stigma of weak woman who needs man. Characterization of the heroine as high school student that is cute, young, and cheerful indicate the existence of dollification. This research focus on the use of fantasy theme analysis to see fantasy chain of Indonesian audience on the reception of dollification issue against heroine in Goblin drama.The main theory that being used in this research is Symbolic Convergence Theory. Collecting data technique was conducted by text analysis, focus group discussion, and indepth interview. The research was conducted to six audience of Goblin drama. The result of the research showed there are drawing and also losing fantasy chain on dollification theme. Drawing fantasy chain being identified through audience interpretation against appearance, youth soul, and sexuality of Ji Eun Tak as the heroine. On the appearance aspect, audience said that woman will be more attractive when physically looked young and thin. On the feminine appearance, female audience see femininity as value added of women’s beauty, meanwhile, male audience were not assume femininity as parameter of beauty. On the youth soul aspect, most of informants prefer the woman in a young demeanor so they can be protected by man in a relationship. While, on the sexuality aspect, informants interpret dollification of Ji Eun Tak as a form of power whose own by woman to decrease male domination. That power is interpreted positively by female audience, but it is interpreted negatively by male audience. Losing of fantasy chain happens when audience interpret text based on feminism perspective and the acceptance of dollification by male audience in this research. Drawing or losing of fantasy chain caused by several factors such as perspective of individual differentiation (sex, dating experience) and social category perspective of Korean drama fans group.

Abstract

“Bicara Karya” as a news feature program created as a new show that can be a source of information and education about the creative industry in the city of Semarang. The program elevates creative industry activities from making, success story, to barriers that occur in a creative industry. Packed with a personal explanation of someone who has expertise in their fields, discussed with a light language but not leaving the essence. In the “Bicara Karya”, The program directors are technically responsible for programming programs both visualizing the manuscript and communicating what they see to the entire production crew (camera person, scriptwriter, voice over, editor, etc.) to realize quality and in accordance with the event's concept and producer's direction. . After going through the pre-production stage, the production process, post production, the work is shown on Cakra Semarang TV every week, starting from 25 April 2017 until 18 July 2017 every Tuesday at 18.00 WIB. Through this work, it is hoped that the public will get educational program to educate and increase the audience information about the creative industry in Semarang and add insight to the viewers. Through the television program "Biacara Karya" which aired on Cakra Semarang TV is a show that raised about the industry keratif, the program director has completed its duties to run for 13 episodes without re-run and certainly not leaving the essence to be conveyed by packing it into an educative and motivating program but not being patronizing.

Abstract

Jateng Gayeng is one of the provincial tagline in Indonesia, Central Java which has a message of attraction, such as culture and art that characterize Central Java. Jateng Gayeng published through the media. Gayeng Jateng has now become the branding of Central Java. The reality of Central Java has not been too known by the community. It requires the Central Java government to develop all sectors in a conceptual manner based on the strength and potential of Central Java. Central Java through Central Java Gayeng is a branding that has the vision and mission to raise the image of Central Java to the national and international scene. Nevertheless, the era of globalization requires Central Java to be open to many things. Central Java nowadays has transformed into a modern province with the establishment of infrastructure and facilities in Central Java, but still refers to the existing culture. The description has become the rationale of this research that will focus on branding Gayeng Central Gayeng brand that must be created is a province that is identical with the strength of local culture. This study aims to describe the communication activities of Central Java government in branding Jateng Gayeng. This research uses mix method approach and analyzed with Models of Public Relation J.Grunig that is press agentry model, public information model, two way asymmetrical model, two way symmetrical model and branding concept from Kaparder prism with phsysic indicator, personality, culture, relationship, Reflection, and self image. This research shows that branding of Central Java Gayeng is done through several activities that have been designed by the related office by using communication activities. By holding various communication activities, it will increase the attraction of the people to visit Central Java. In the implementation of branding can not only rely on local government but there must be supporters such as local communities, investors and stakeholders. The success of branding in Central Java is measured by the number of tourist arrivals and the level of investment.

Abstract

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by disruption in communication and limited social interaction. This limitation makes the importance of the role of parents and teachers in building social skills in autism children to help them interact with others and organize themselves in certain social situations. This research focuses to describe the interpersonal communication performed by parents and teachers in the process of building social skills of autism children that using Symbolic Interaction Theory (George Herbert Mead) which explains that behavior can be formed through interaction, and Social Learning Theory (Albert Bandura) which explains that people can form behavior based on observation result. This research used descriptive qualitative type of research and phenomenology approach, and the research resource are parents who have autism children as much as three informants, and teachers who special educate autism children as much as two informants. The results showed that the interpersonal communication performed by parents and teachers to autism children is built through the closeness that get in by openness, attention, empathy, equality, and supportive when communicating, this closeness is used to build social skills through interpersonal persuasion in autism children. The understanding of parents and teachers to verbal and nonverbal messages of autism children becomes very important because it will be help the communication process between parents, teachers, and autism children.Then the belief of parents and teachers to the ability of autism children is the one of the factors that encourage the development of social skills, because autism children will be more flexible to develop their behavior according to ability possessed. In addition, rewarding and positive assessment to autism children also provide their motivation and confidence to form positive behavior, while punishment will provide an understanding to autism children that negative behavior should be avoided. Therefore, parents and teachers should have a commitment in educating autism children by giving examples of positive behaviors and practice together with them to be more easily observed and perfomed by autism children, because parents and teachers have an important role to provided awareness about social norms in society obtained through the formation of social skills in autism children.

Abstract

Pertamina merupakan BUMN yang sering menjadi sorotan karena berbagai krisis besar yangdialaminya. Kasus krisis paling menarik adalah proses alih kelola Blok Mahakam yang telahbergulir selama delapan tahun terakhir walaupun kini Pertamina sudah mendapat payunghukum dari pemerintah. Proses alih kelola Blok Mahakam menimbulkan berbagai reaksi, adayang bersikap mendukung dan meragukan jika pengelolaan Blok Mahakam yang semuladilakukan oleh Total dan Inpex diambil alih oleh Pertamina. Manajemen krisis umumnyadilakukan oleh public relation (PR), namun di Pertamina yang berperan adalah serikatpekerja. Peneliti ingin mengetahui peranan Federasi Serikat Pekerja Pertamina Bersatu(FSPPB) dalam manajemen krisis perusahaan melalui strategi lobi dan negosiasi pada kasusalih kelola Blok Mahakam.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus.Peneliti menggunakan teknik penjodohan pola (pattern matching) untuk menghubungkandata-data kualitatif yang didapatkan dengan konsep yang sudah dibangun pada kerangkapemikiran. Subjek yang diteliti adalah serikat pekerja yang tergabung dalam FSPPB danstakeholder krisis Blok Mahakam.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah FSPPB dalam kasus Blok Mahakam melakukanperanan manajemen krisis dengan strategi lobi dan negosiasi ke berbagai stakeholder.Strategi lobi yang dilakukan terdiri dari pendekatan brainstorming, pengondisian,networking, institution building, cognitive problem, five breaking, manipulasi kekuatan, costand benefit, dan futuristik atau antisipatif. Strategi negosiasi yang dilakukan ialah win-lose,di mana pihak FSPPB sebagai pihak yang menang sedangkan Kementerian ESDM sebagaipihak yang kalah. Adapun teknik-teknik yang digunakan adalah membuat agenda berupaforum-forum resmi, membuat tenggat waktu dengan intimidasi, good guy bad guy denganbertukar peran tertentu (wiseman, sniper, pengamat), dan meminta konsesi kepadaKementerian ESDM dan Direksi Pertamina. FSPPB melakukan lobi dan negosiasi kepadapara stakeholder karena mempunyai peranan dalam manajemen krisis perusahaan.Penelitian ini menambahkan konsep bahwa serikat pekerja dapat mempunyai peranan dalammanajemen krisis perusahaan. Peranan tersebut akan semakin besar dengan adanyaPerjanjian Kerja Bersama (PKB) yang memuat peran-peran istimewa serikat pekerja,sehingga dapat memperkuat bargaining position serikat pekerja dalam melakukanmanajemen krisis perusahaan. Di Pertamina, FSPPB mempunyai peran istimewa untukmenjaga kelangsungan bisnis perusahaan dan mengupayakan kedaulatan energi Indonesia.Adapun strategi lobi yang paling dominan dan efektif dilakukan oleh FSPPB dalam kasus ini2adalah pendekatan manipulasi kekuatan, sedangkan untuk strategi negosiasinya adalah winlosedengan teknik good guy bad guy.

Abstract

Self –identity is a component of the self-concept that allows the individual to maintain consistent stance and thereby enables one to occupy a stable position in his environment. The environment can be one of the supporting factors for a person in the search for identity, but also can be an inhibiting factor. This study aims to describe whether modelling school can help as a means of communication of its members and build a personal identity of women, with qualitative descriptive research methods and phenomenology approach. The theory used is the theory of fashion as communication that explains a person can communicate throught fashion. Because of fashion is one form of nonverbal communication. Then the theory of self-presentation that explains that this theory is an attempt to control someone else’s impression by arranging the behavior so that others interpret the identity as they wants. The results of the study showed that the interpersonal communication performed by the modelling school coach “Hijabku Models Academy” on the incorporated students was built throught the closeness gained from openness, attention, affection, and supportive attitude when communicating. This adjacency is used to build students self-confidence and expected to be able to establish student identities. Then, the belief of parents of children who are seeking self-identity throught modeling school become one of the driving factors for students to be more confident without feeling burdened, braver, and not easily shaken in building their own identity. Therefore, parents and trainers should continue to approach students who educate them by motivating them to be more confident and encourage them to open up for positive things, because parents and trainers have an important role in shaping attitudes and character of students who want to seek identity throught modeling school.

Abstract

Oppo is one of the smartphone manufacturers in Indonesia, Oppo uses brand ambassador as one of the strategies in its iklanya, Oppo using brand majority of celebrities from celebrities, Oppo brand ambassador is expected to be a draw for the audience who saw the advertisement Oppo, so that will help the audience In understanding the advertising message submitted by brand ambassador, after the audience understands the advertising message is conveyed it will stimulate the interest of buying audience of Oppo products. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of Oppo brand ambassador advertising performance and the level of understanding of Oppo's advertising messages to the buying interest of Oppo products. Theory used in this research is Response Cognitive Theory which explains the relationship between the performance of Brand Ambassador Oppo Advertising on the Oppo Advertising Message Level Understanding, Elaboration Likehood Theory which explains the Relationship Between the Performance of Brand Ambassadors of Oppo Advertising on Oppo's buying interest. The population of this study is adolescents aged 18-25 years who became the target target of Oppo and samples taken as many as 50 people with conventional sampling techniques. In the hypothesis test, the authors used the correlation analysis of kendall tau_b. Testing data that is done by using program SPSS 23, there is Between Performance of Brand Ambassador Advertising Oppo (X1) to the interest of buying product of Oppo (Y) with significance value is 0,862 is> 0,50 which means there is relation and Relationship Level understanding of advertising message Oppo (X2) to the buying interest of Oppo (Y) product with significance value is 0,751, proving hypothesis H1 that there is positive relation and hypothesis H2 there is also positive relationship.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman individu dalam penggunaan Instagram pada dinamika hubungan pacaran. Penemuan sebelumnya menemukan bahwa penggunaan jejaring sosial Facebook tidak mempengaruhi keintiman dan kepuasan hubungan, akan tetapi pasangan telah mencapai pada tahap keintiman yang tinggi akan menyeimbangkan antara penggunaan jejaring sosial Facebook dengan kepuasan hubungan. Maka dari itu, pada penelitian ini membahas mengenai bagaimana penggunaan media sosial dalam dinamika hubungan pacaran, di mana fokus pada penggunaan Instagram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi yang memahami fenomena dari kehidupan para pelakunya. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Penetrasi Sosial dan Teori Pengurangan Ketidakpastian. Teori Penetrasi Sosial digunakan untuk menggambarkan tahapan dalam suatu hubungan dari orientasi ke pertukaran stabil. Teori Pengurangan Ketidakpastian membahas mengenai strategi untuk mengurangi ketidakpastian kognitif dan perilaku dengan pencarian informasi melalui komunikasi dengan orang lain. Penelitian dilakukan kepada enam pasangan berpacaran dengan tiga variasi hubungan, yaitu hubungan jarak jauh tanpa interaksi tatap muka, hubungan jarak jauh dengan beberapa interaksi tatap muka, dan hubungan dekat secara geografis. Hasil penelitian ini tidak semua informan menggunakan Instagram sebagai fasilitator pengembangan hubungan pada masa penjajakan, sebagian di antara mereka hanya menggunakan messenger sebagai media utama untuk memenuhi kebutuhan komunikasinya. Pada masa awal hubungan, para informan menggunakan Instagram sebagai media representasi masa lalu, penarik perhatian dan tolok ukur pemilihan calon pasangan. Memasuki masa berpacaran, Instagram sebagai media pengurangan ketidakpastian, di mana media tersebut sebagai alat pengontrol pasangan di dunia maya. Keberadaan Instagram juga dimanfaatkan untuk publikasi status hubungan sebagai salah satu bentuk kebanggaan dan membentengi pasangan dari orang lain. Sisi negatif dari Instagram dalam hubungan pacaran dapat menimbulkan kesalahpahaman dan kecemburuan yang memunculkan tindakan balas dendam dan pemutusan hubungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif eksplanatory. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket atau kuisoner. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Kendall dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS dan menggunakan teori pembelajaran sosial, teori komunikasi keluarga, dan teori cinta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan namun tidak cukup signifikan antara intensistas menonton FTV bertemakan cinta dengan perilaku pacaran remaja dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,473. Dan menunjukkan adanya hubungan namun tidak cukup signifikan antara intensitas komunikasi orang tua & anak dengan perilaku pacaran remaja dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,510. Rasa penasaran akan pacaran yang tidak diarahkan oleh orang tua, dapat menjadi perilaku pacaran yang tidak sehat karena hanya dilandasi oleh rasa penasaran dan ketertarikan seksual semata.

Abstract

In a family, interpersonal communication processes take place in nurturing and controlling against the behavior of their children. Now, many parents who choose to educate his children in boarding schools and they hopes their children can have a religious knowledge as well as a good general science, have a good character, and have a positive self-concept if educated in the boarding school. This research using a qualitative approach, aims to describing interpersonal communication processes between students, caregivers of boarding school, and boarding school environments in building the self concept. This research uses interpretive paradigms and phenomenological methods. Subjects in this research were two students and two caregivers of Pondok Pesantren Al Muqoddasah, East Java. The underlying theory is symbolic interaction theory and self concept by George Herbert Mead. The results show that the caregiver has intimacy with his students by always communicating, devoting affection, empathy, attention, and feelings of equality among them, especially with students who are still children. The intimacy that exists among the students is also one of the reasons they feel happy and comfortable life in the boarding school. This familiarity is established because of the openness, the similarity of hobbies, sense of the same fate, and the interdependent feelings that makes the student would not feel lonely and lack the affection from their parents. Students also feel comfort and can adapt to boarding school environments easily, because the boarding school environment is considered to have a role in the development of their self-concept, where the values, culture, and norms that are taught can change the behavior and habits of students to be better. The process of developing student selfconcept is also affected by the way of caregivers in nurturing and controlling his students. Caregivers who always give positive assessments and nurturing his students with a secure attachment style helps the student in the process of building a positive self-concept. Meanwhile, caregivers who always give negative assessments and nurturing her students with fearful attachment style or anxious attachment style will damage the confidence and self-esteem of the students so his self-concept becomes negative. Student builds his self-concept based on interaction with caregiver, fellow student, and his boarding school environments. Self-concept that will provide an important motive for student behavior.
