Abstract

Utilizing yard land will provide benefits for family life, such as: a source of food and also as a source of income. A yard is an open area around a residence. Utilizing yard land will provide benefits for family life such as a source of food. A large yard will provide more space for planting. If you have a large yard, methods you can use include planting directly in the ground (beds), which can be combined using pots, polybags and verticulture. However, in a narrow yard, what can be done is to plant using planting media such as pots, polybags and verticulture and agricultural technology that can be applied to utilize yard land with hydroponic technology. The use of home gardens in the Joint Farming Group in Padang Luas Village, Kurau District, Tanah Laut Regency is one of the places that can be used by the community for various activities. One of the activities that can be done to utilize empty yard space is to use it for farming. Farming can not only be done in rice fields but can also be done in the yard of the house. So that it can increase community awareness regarding the use of home gardens which is still low. This can be seen by the large number of house yards that are not used and are left alone. So by utilizing this yard land, it means that you will be able to channel all the creativity and pleasure or hobbies of all members of the Farmer Group together and their family members. The main element in utilizing the yard is plants, whether they are horticultural plants, medicines, herbs, spices and especially vegetable plants

Abstract

Padang Luas Village, which is located in Kurau District, has long been known as one of the purun producing areas, especially the purun Tikus type in the southern region of Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. It cannot be denied that the focus of purun plant utilization activities is not only related to increasing the productivity (volume) of results, but also increasing the quality of the purun produced. This is a factor that cannot be ignored, because product quality is the main reference for customers in determining the choice of variants spread on the market. This means that quantity and quality are two things that cannot be separated, on the one hand the volume of harvest must be able to maintain the stability of product needs, but on the other hand, product quality must not be neglected just because of pursuing the volume of market demand. Therefore, this service activity is focused on efforts to improve post- harvest quality based on processing purun into goods that can have economic and tourism value. Bearing in mind, until now the Purun farmer group in this area still uses manual methods which makes the process longer and quite tiring and has an impact on product quality. This has been accompanied by a transfer of technology to the Purun Tikus farmer group in the service area. The method used is as follows: (a). Counseling on strategies for improving the quality of purun purun Tikus commodities; (b). Training on transfer of technology for the use of purun plants; and (c) Discussion of the evaluation of the results of the counseling and training that has been carried out as recommendation material for community service activities in the following year

Abstract

Sungai Besar Village is located enroute the Parangtritis Beach, which is one of the main tourist destinations in the Banjar Region of Kalimantan Selatan. This village has the potential to develop into an agro-tourism area based on the natural resources and community participation. Presently, community-based agro-tourism is being developed in this area through the Gadjah Mada University Assisted Villprogram. Therefore, this programme aims to 1) Identify the potential of natural resources and village landscapes; 2) Increase community participation in developing villages; and 3) Empower natural resources and village communities for agro-tourism development. Data were obtained from community participation- based agro-tourism planning using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method and the Training on Trainer system from September 2024. Furthermore, during the Covid 19 pandemic, tourism education was carried outusing an online method such as Google meet and whatsapp group platforms. Potential identification carried out by the community in Sungai Besar Village shows the potential for natural resource attractions based on tourism development. Furthermore, various natural resources as the potential of agro-tourism attractions have started to be empowered, including plant nurseries in the yard (pekarangan), peanut brittle, gula semut, and banana weevil chips well as a homestay. Therefore, the coordination of the inter-hamlet agro-tourism program at the village level still needs to be improved.

Abstract

Bekasam Fish Sepat and Samu Fish Sepat are one of the names of processed fish products in preserving fresh fish. Bekasam is made from fish that is salted through a fermentation process with salt and rice. Fish that is marinated, and there is also mixed with a sprinkling of roasted or fried rice samu. In addition, there is Bekasam Samu Fish Sepat which only uses salt and is mixed with samu, which is ready to be consumed in just one day. The fish that will be made into bekasam can be any type of fish, but the most popular among Banjar people is bekasam samu river fish, because the results of this fermentation give a distinctive sour taste to the fish, as well as a soft and rich texture. Bekasam has a more chewy meat texture than fresh fish in general, as well as samu fish. Processing Samu fish sepat takes less time, not in days like bekasam, because this samu fish does not produce a sour taste but a savory taste and the aroma of the samu is dominant. The difference is in the processing time and the taste and aroma of the fish produced only. This activity is also a real step in an effort to process fresh fish so that it lasts a long time by preserving it in a traditional and simple way. It is hoped that participants can gain very good knowledge to be applied when fish that are not valuable during the abundant season if processed properly will be able to provide added value economically and socially, especially to meet the nutritional needs of families and communities
