Abstract

An evaluation of the distance effect of Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD)-X ray source, variations of field size of radiation and position of the MPD on the X-ray voltage measured, have been done. There are necessary because they have not been recommended from the MPD procedure manual yet. The detector operated at voltage of 70 kV and current-time of 12.5 mAs. The measurement of voltage using MPD from RTI Electronics product. It is multifunction detector that can measure dose and voltage invasively. The previous step is measurement of dose for ensure correct equipment setting. These measurements is done for several variations such as MPD-X ray distance of  60 - 160 cm, field sizes 0f 4x4 cm - 40x40 cm2, detector's position of 0 (at center of beam) and 1-11 cm from centre of beam.   The results are obtained that the voltage that measured is not affected by all of variation values such as distance difference of MPD-X ray source,  field sizes and detector's position. Furthermore, for measurement of outside of radiation beam, MPD   can still measur voltage with good validation. Therefore, the measurement of voltage using MPD has high flexibility because it is not influenced by set up measurement. Keywords: The X ray voltage measurement, Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD), Barracuda.

Abstract

This study, using the method of total magnetic field in the area of Central Java Klaten, aims to interpret the subsurface structure of the fault zones surrounding Prambanan, Wedi, and Gantiwarno district that became the suspect of the aftershocks cause occurring on May 27, 2006. The total magnetic field measurements use GSM19T Series magnetometre with the accuracy of ± 0.5 nT which includes 158 points. From the interpretation result using the second vertical derivative analysis, it can be known that there are three fault areas which are categorised as normal faults. The first fault is found in the volcanic rocks composed by the layers of volcanic breccia, lava and tuff. It is characterised by a change in the susceptibility value from 0.3 to 0.2 cgs. The second section is in Kebo Butak rock formation comprising the layers of sandstone, clay, silt, and algomerat. It is characterised by changes on the susceptibility values from 0.126 to 0.007cgs and from 0.33 0.126 cgs. The last fault is located in the Semilir formation consisting of tuff rocks, pumice breccias and tuffaceous sandstone marked by changes on the susceptibility values from 0.25 to 0.1 cgs and from 0.5 to 0.25 cgs. Abstract

Development of nanomaterial technology strongly supports advancements in composite technology. Composite that use nanomaterial produce better electrical properties than common composite. Carbon nanotubes (CNT) is one of nanomaterial with high conductivity, so it’s potentially used in composite for various aplication. This research combines Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) with Polyvynilidene Flouride (PVDF) for producing CNT-PVDF composite with high conductivity. CNT-PVDF composites were fabricated by solution processing method. PVDF was dissolved into distillated aceton then CNT was dissolved in acetone and added Triton X-100 4 ml. PVDF solution and the solution of CNT were stirred for 1 hour using a magnetic stirrer, then both were mixed and stirred at temperature of 40 ° C until the acetone evaporates. Composites were molded using a hot-pressing at a pressure of 1 MPa and a temperature of 200oC for 10 minutes. CNT-PVDF composite were characterized by a conductivity test to generate conductivity values. The results of the analysis of the test showed that the addition of CNT conductivity on CNT-PVDF composite increased conductivity values. In the mass percentage of CNT 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% conductivity increased slowly. Improved high conductivity of CNTs obtained in the mass percentage of 10%. Abstract

Inversion of AVO (Amplitude Versus Offset) can be used to identify and maping the spread of hydrocarbons on seismic data. The research was conducted on the field "X" TAF layer Talang Akar’s  formation’s  North West Java basin. AVO inversion performed to obtain angle stack, intercept, gradient and fluid factor attribute. The results of the angle stack analysis indicate AVO anomaly in TAF layer’s. Based on the crossplot between the intercept with the gradient, TAFlayer’s included in Class III AVO anomaly. The results of fluid factor analysis showed TAF layer’s has a negative value, that is estimated to have hydrocarbon potential Key words: Amplitude Versus Offset (AVO),angle stack, intercept, gradient, fluid factor.

Abstract

Nanocomposite thin film of TiO2/CNT as a photocatalyst material was  synthesized using the sol-gel method with the dispersion of commercial TiO2 Merck in CNT. The crystal structure and nanocomposite thin film morfology of TiO2/CNT were characterized using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Sol TiO2 0.3 M was mixed into the sol CNT with mass ratio of CNT:TiO2 was 1:5. Sol TiO2/CNT was sprayed on a glass substrate that was  heated at a temperature of 250 oC, then it was heated at the temperature of 450 °C for 60 minutes. Photodegradation was done by dipping the nanocomposite thin film of TiO2/CNT into 100 mL Azo Orange 3R dye sol 10 ppm, then was irradiated using UV light with a wavelength 380 nm. XRD pattern analysis showed that TiO2 has anatase structure with crystallite size at the range from 72-92 nm by using Scherrer equation. SEM image analysis showed that the grains of TiO2 sfreris pattern and was dispersed on CNT. Refluks TiO2/CNT nanocomposite thin film had been able to degrade Azo Orange 3R dye sol for 12 hours until percentage of 98,2% which was much better than the non reflux TiO2/CNT nanocomposite thin film as 97,2% and the TiO2 thin film as 90,9%. Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In this research, Ziehl-Neelsen sputum image is used to identify TB bacteria. Image segmentation process is done by using Otsu auto-thresholding to split object from its background in the ZN-stain sputum sample image. Morphology operation is done toward the splitting result to obtain the value of compactness, metric, and eccentricity of each object in the image which later will be used as input for the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) to be classified. Result of the research show that segmentation using Otsu method is capable to properly split the object expected as bacteria from its background. The network testing show that ANFIS architecture with gbellmf as membership function type will work properly if it has 2 MFs on each input with epoch of 40. Abstract

The measurement of X-ray radiation exposure rate in operator’s room with Pb glass at the Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes hospital, Kupang has been done. The measurement of radiation exposure rate for radiation before and after passing through the Pb glass was done using surveymeter. There are six points of measurement: at the upper-left, upper-right, upper-midle, bottom-left, bottom-right, and bottom-midle sides. The results of measurements show that Pb glass reduce the radiation exposure rate until 99,51%, and when flouroscopy is activated, the radiation exposure rate at the operator’s room is 0,6 mR/hour. This value is below the value of dose limit (NBD). Keywords: radiation exposure rate, Pb glass, radiaion at the operator’s room
