Abstract

This article discusses the importance of developing the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that focuses on subject matter to shape students’ character and moral values, in line with the goals of national education. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis of various relevant literatures concerning the design of the PAI curriculum. The findings indicate that the development of the PAI curriculum must consider the principles of relevance, continuity, flexibility, efficiency, and effectiveness in order to respond to the dynamic needs of society. The study also identifies several challenges in its implementation, such as limited teacher mastery of the subject matter, the lack of appropriate teaching methods, and insufficient supporting facilities and infrastructure. The article recommends the need for collaboration among the government, schools, and the community to realize an effective PAI curriculum. With the right approach and synergistic support, the curriculum is expected to produce a generation that is religious, morally upright, and prepared to face global challenges.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the strong persistence of the kenduri practice in Sukorejo Kemiri Village, which reflects an ongoing dialectical process between Islamic values and local cultural traditions. The research focuses on analyzing the forms of kenduri implementation, its religious meanings, and the patterns of interaction between Islamic teachings and local cultural practices. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, followed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that kenduri carries significant spiritual, social, educational, and economic functions within the community. Spiritually, the ritual serves as a medium for collective prayer, tahlil, and expressions of gratitude to Allah. Socially, it strengthens communal solidarity and maintains harmonious relationships among residents. Educationally, it transmits values of charity, gratitude, cooperation, and social responsibility. Economically, kenduri stimulates local economic activities through food preparation, service exchanges, and community-based contributions. The study identifies two patterns of dialectics: the theological–compromising pattern, in which Islamic values refine traditional practices to align with religious norms; and the theological–humanistic pattern, in which Islamic teachings reinforce social cohesion and communal ethics. The study concludes that kenduri remains sustainable because it successfully integrates religious values with local cultural identity in a harmonious and adaptive manner.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of character education through the boarding school system as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing character education for class X students at the boarding school of Manbaul Ulum Boarding School Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach and data collection techniques of observation (observation), interviews and documentation so that it can describe the results of research in accordance with the development of student behavior. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that character education is applied at SMA Manbaul Ulum Boarding School Pondok Aren, South Tangerang. First, the application of character education through congregational fardhu prayers, tahajjud prayers, prayer beads and dhikr to build the religious character of students, secondly through muhadhoroh activities that can train students in language and build self-confidence, thirdly deepening religious knowledge through book studies. However, it is undeniable that the tight schedule of boarding school activities is a complaint for students, the role of parents is less cooperative, and the discipline that students cannot apply.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of revitalizing the teacher’s role as a moral guide through the integration of emotional intelligence (EQ) and spiritual intelligence (SQ) in Islamic education. The background of this study stems from the phenomenon of the declining character of students in the midst of rapid technological advancement and unrestricted information flow. This research uses a library research method using a qualitative approach on literature review by analyzing relevant sources. The results show that teachers hold a central role in shaping the character and personality of students—not only as instructors but also as role models. By integrating EQ values such as empathy, patience, and effective communication, along with SQ values such as sincerity, gratitude, and closeness to God, teachers can create a learning environment that touches students’ emotional and spiritual dimensions. This strategy strengthens the teacher’s example in building students’ morals and addresses the challenges of character education in the modern era. Moreover, the involvement of parents and communities is crucial in creating a supportive educational ecosystem. This research recommends enhancing teacher training in EQ and SQ as a strategic effort to develop students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also morally excellent and spiritually grounded according to Islamic values.

Abstract

Moral values in Islamic education, especially morality, are only limited to knowledge and insight without being based on the implementation of the values contained in these morals, especially when it comes to mosque youth who should provide examples or color the surrounding environment by imitating them. The research method in this case uses techniques descriptive qualitative analysis with data reduction analysis techniques, data presentation, drawing/conclusion and verification, so that youth and the surrounding environment can get used to carrying out worship on time and in congregation, getting used to throwing garbage in its place, Spontaneous ant operations (picking up trash), getting used to reprimand/overcoming disagreements / quarrels / bad things, getting used to saving energy, getting used to the culture of queuing, getting used to preserving the environment, giving examples of neat / simple clothes, giving examples of coming on time, giving examples of going home on time / according to the schedule for going home, giving examples of simple life, giving examples of speaking politely and politely, giving examples of honest behavior and giving examples of praising good work.

Abstract

Learning activities are often found that students do not have motivation in learning, this problem is caused by a teacher not paying attention to students, not getting used to reprimanding with spontaneity when seeing students not excited in learning activities, a teacher is not able to pack interesting lessons so that students easily feel bored so that students do not carry out tasks and teacher commands, This research uses descriptive qualitative with Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis by means of data collection, data presentation, data reduction and verification or drawing conclusions, so that the results of this study students are really interested in participating in Islamic Religious Education lessons with reflective learning strategies by providing incentives and giving praise, gifts, numbers and providing punishments.

Abstract

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the integration of Islamic educational values and local wisdom in the development of character-based education curricula in Indonesia. In the context of national education facing the challenges of globalization and dynamic socio-cultural changes, developing a curriculum that can shape students’ character to be faithful, noble in character, and deeply rooted in local culture is highly important and relevant. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, involving critical analysis of various primary and secondary sources, including the Qur’an, hadith, academic books, and scientific journals published in the last five years. The discussion focuses on three main aspects: first, the concept of Islamic educational values as a moral and spiritual foundation; second, the values of local wisdom that contain norms, ethics, and cultural practices of the community; and third, strategies for effectively integrating these two value systems into a character-based curriculum. The findings show that integrating Islamic educational values and local wisdom not only enriches the learning materials but also increases the relevance of education to the students’ socio-cultural context and strengthens the formation of holistic and balanced character. However, the implementation of this integration still faces challenges, such as limited teacher competence, a lack of locally-based learning resources, and the need for sustainable policy support. This article concludes that developing a curriculum that integrates Islamic educational values and local wisdom is an effective, innovative, and sustainable educational strategy to shape a young generation that is religious, cultured, and competitive in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal’s strategies in overcoming the challenges of clinical supervision implementation at SD Insan Amanah Malang City. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal as the main informant, as well as teachers and students as supporting informants. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested using source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the implementation of clinical supervision encountered several obstacles, including the principal’s limited time due to structural responsibilities, the dynamic classroom conditions of students, and differences in teachers’ pedagogical readiness. To address these challenges, the principal implemented strategies such as delegating supervision tasks to senior teachers, optimizing subject-group forums as professional learning communities, applying gradual coaching based on teachers’ needs, and utilizing students’ perceptions as supporting evaluation data. These strategies proved effective in fostering a culture of professional reflection, enhancing collaboration among teachers, and improving teachers’ pedagogical competence and the quality of learning in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study was inspired by the growing presence of social media among elementary school children, which has an impact on the ethical growth of Generation Z. While social media offers benefits like easier access to information, it also carries drawbacks such as a decrease in politeness, poor discipline, and behavioral changes in students. In this context, teachers of Islamic Religious Education have a crucial role in fostering and enhancing the moral strength of students so they can confront the adverse effects of social media. The purpose of this study is to: (1) assess the moral resilience of Generation Z students regarding the effects of social media at SDN 1 Kalimendong, (2) recognize the different ways social media influences students' moral values, and (3) evaluate how Islamic Religious Education teachers are working to enhance the moral resilience of Generation Z against social media's effects at SDN 1 Kalimendong. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive method with a field research framework. Data were gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The participants of the study included the principal, teachers of Islamic Religious Education, classroom educators, fifth and sixth-grade students, and parents. The analysis of data involved reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions, with the reliability of the data being checked through both source triangulation and technique triangulation. Findings from the research show that the moral resilience of Generation Z students at SDN 1 Kalimendong is generally strong, though certain students are still affected by excessive use of social media. Social media can positively contribute to expanding students’ knowledge and awareness; however, it can also negatively influence their behavior, communication etiquette, discipline, and socialization. The actions taken by Islamic Religious Education teachers to bolster students' moral resilience include promoting religious practices, serving as role models, providing guidance and counseling, monitoring the use of social media, collaborating with parents, and incorporating Islamic ethical values into their teaching. These initiatives are found to be effective in encouraging students to adopt selective, disciplined, and responsible behaviors in their use of social media.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to understand the content of the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly; (2) to identify the Islamic educational values contained in the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly; and (3) to determine the relevance of the Islamic educational values found in the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly to education in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach. By type, it is classified as library research. The data sources consist of two types: primary and secondary. The primary data source is the novel Laut Tengah by Berliana Kimberly, while secondary data sources are obtained from various other literature such as books, articles, and journals discussing Islamic educational values. The data collection technique used is documentation, namely collecting books, articles, journals, and scholarly works relevant to this research. The data analysis technique applied is content analysis, which aims to analyze and interpret the messages contained in the data. The study finds that the novel Laut Tengah contains three main aspects of Islamic educational values. First aqidah (faith, including tawakal (reliance on Allah) and belief in Allah’s help. Second, ibadah (worship) values, comprising prayer (salat), dhikr (remembrance of Allah), supplication (doa), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), reading the Qur’an, tahajjud (night prayer), istikharah (prayer for guidance), and the intention to seek knowledge as an act of worship. Third, akhlak (moral) values, divided into akhlak toward Allah, akhlak toward fellow humans, and social akhlak. The novel has strong relevance to education in Indonesia, encompassing the spiritual aspect, self-control aspect, noble character aspect, intellectual aspect, and skills and responsibility aspect (e.g., mastering foreign languages, being responsible as the head of a family). Thus, this novel is worthy of being used as enrichment material or a learning medium in Islamic education in Indonesia.
