Abstract

The moral crisis among students in the contemporary era has become a significant challenge for educational institutions worldwide. Islamic education emphasizes moral development as an essential component of human perfection, and Imam Al-Ghazali remains one of the most influential scholars in this field. This study aims to analyze the moral education values contained in Minhajul Muta'allim and examine their relevance to contemporary Islamic character education. This research employs a qualitative library research approach using content analysis. Primary data were obtained from Imam Al-Ghazali's Minhajul Muta'allim, while secondary data were collected from books, scholarly journals, and related studies on Islamic moral education. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali's moral education framework emphasizes sincerity in seeking knowledge, respect for teachers, self-discipline, humility, patience, spiritual purification, and social responsibility. The study further demonstrates that moral formation is achieved through habituation, self-control, and continuous ethical training. These values remain highly relevant in addressing modern educational challenges, including moral degradation, individualism, and the excessive orientation toward material success. The study concludes that Al-Ghazali's educational philosophy provides a holistic framework that integrates intellectual development, spiritual awareness, and ethical responsibility, making it applicable to contemporary Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become an increasingly important approach for fostering social harmony, peaceful coexistence, and national unity in multicultural societies. In the face of globalization, digital transformation, and the rapid dissemination of religious information through social media, communities are challenged by the spread of intolerance, extremism, and religious polarization. Within this context, Islamic Studies plays a strategic role in promoting a comprehensive understanding of Islamic teachings that emphasize justice, balance (wasatiyyah), tolerance, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Studies in strengthening religious moderation by analyzing its conceptual foundations, educational functions, and contributions to developing inclusive and harmonious societies. The research employed a qualitative library research approach using scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, and official publications related to Islamic Studies and religious moderation. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive content analysis to identify key themes concerning the integration of moderation values within Islamic scholarship and education. The findings indicate that Islamic Studies contributes significantly to strengthening religious moderation by promoting contextual interpretations of Islamic teachings, encouraging critical thinking, developing interreligious understanding, and fostering ethical and civic responsibility. Furthermore, Islamic educational institutions serve as important platforms for cultivating moderate religious attitudes through curriculum development, character education, dialogue, and community engagement. The study concludes that strengthening religious moderation requires collaborative efforts among educational institutions, religious scholars, policymakers, and communities to ensure that Islamic Studies continues to promote inclusive, peaceful, and compassionate values in addressing contemporary social challenges. Therefore, Islamic Studies should be positioned as a strategic instrument for building resilient, tolerant, and socially cohesive societies in the twenty-first century.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed various sectors of society, including education, by introducing innovative approaches to teaching, learning, assessment, and educational management. While AI offers significant opportunities to improve learning effectiveness, personalize educational experiences, and enhance institutional efficiency, it also raises fundamental philosophical and ethical questions concerning the nature of knowledge, the role of educators, human autonomy, justice, and moral responsibility. This study aims to examine Artificial Intelligence from the perspective of educational philosophy by analyzing its opportunities, challenges, and ethical implications in contemporary education. The research employs a qualitative library research approach through a comprehensive review of scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, and international reports related to artificial intelligence, educational philosophy, and educational ethics. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive content analysis to identify major philosophical themes and ethical issues associated with AI integration in education. The findings reveal that Artificial Intelligence has considerable potential to enhance personalized learning, improve educational accessibility, support data-driven decision-making, and facilitate innovative pedagogical practices. However, AI implementation also presents significant challenges, including algorithmic bias, data privacy concerns, digital inequality, the declining role of human interaction in learning, and the need to preserve critical thinking and moral development. From the perspective of educational philosophy, AI should be regarded as a complementary tool that supports, rather than replaces, the essential role of teachers in fostering intellectual growth, ethical reasoning, and holistic human development. The study concludes that the successful integration of AI into education requires a balanced approach that combines technological innovation with humanistic values, ethical governance, and philosophical reflection. This research contributes to the growing discourse on educational philosophy by providing a conceptual framework for understanding the responsible and ethical implementation of Artificial Intelligence in contemporary educational systems.

Abstract

The Labuhan tradition is one of the local cultural practices that continues to be preserved by communities in various regions of Indonesia. In Muslim communities, this tradition has undergone a process of adaptation and transformation influenced by Islamic teachings, resulting in a dynamic relationship between religion and local culture. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islam on the behavior of the Muslim community in preserving and practicing the Labuhan tradition in Doplang Village. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving community leaders, religious figures, traditional elders, and local residents. The collected data were analyzed using the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that Islamic values have significantly shaped the attitudes and behaviors of the Muslim community toward the Labuhan tradition. Ritual elements perceived as inconsistent with Islamic teachings have gradually been replaced by religious activities such as collective prayers, recitation of the Qur'an, dhikr, and charitable acts. At the same time, cultural values such as mutual cooperation, social solidarity, gratitude, and environmental preservation continue to be maintained. The study concludes that the interaction between Islam and local tradition in Doplang Village reflects a process of cultural acculturation that strengthens religious identity while preserving local wisdom. This research contributes to the discourse on the relationship between Islam and local culture by demonstrating that religious values and cultural traditions can coexist harmoniously through adaptive social transformation.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Financial Technology (FinTech) has significantly transformed the financial services industry, including the Islamic banking sector in Indonesia. The integration of digital technologies into Islamic banking has created new opportunities to improve financial inclusion, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the accessibility of Sharia-compliant financial services. However, the adoption of FinTech also presents challenges related to cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, digital literacy, and adherence to Islamic financial principles. This study aims to analyze the impact of Financial Technology on Islamic banking services in Indonesia by examining its influence on service quality, customer experience, operational performance, and institutional competitiveness. The research employs a qualitative library research approach by reviewing scholarly articles, books, government reports, and publications from financial regulatory institutions related to FinTech and Islamic banking. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive content analysis to identify major trends, opportunities, and challenges in the digital transformation of Islamic banking. The findings indicate that Financial Technology has contributed positively to the modernization of Islamic banking services through the implementation of mobile banking, internet banking, digital payment systems, peer-to-peer financing, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technology. These innovations have enhanced transaction efficiency, expanded financial access, and strengthened customer engagement. Nevertheless, the study also identifies several obstacles, including cybersecurity risks, regulatory adaptation, digital infrastructure disparities, and the necessity of maintaining Sharia compliance in technological innovation. The study concludes that the successful integration of Financial Technology into Islamic banking requires collaboration among financial institutions, regulators, technology providers, and Sharia supervisory authorities to ensure sustainable, secure, and Sharia-compliant digital financial services. This research contributes to the growing literature on digital transformation in Islamic finance and provides recommendations for strengthening the competitiveness of Islamic banking in the digital era.

Abstract

Character development has become one of the primary concerns in contemporary education, particularly in response to the complex social and ethical challenges faced by Generation Z in the digital era. The widespread use of digital technologies has transformed the way young people access information, communicate, and construct their personal and religious identities, creating both opportunities and risks for character formation. This study aims to examine the role of digital literacy-based Islamic education in building the character of Generation Z and to identify effective strategies for its implementation in contemporary educational settings. This research employs a qualitative library research approach using content analysis of books, scholarly articles, policy documents, and previous studies related to Islamic education, digital literacy, and character education. The findings reveal that integrating digital literacy with Islamic educational values contributes significantly to developing critical thinking, ethical digital citizenship, responsibility, honesty, empathy, tolerance, and religious moderation among Generation Z. Islamic values such as akhlaq (moral character), amanah (trustworthiness), hikmah (wisdom), and wasatiyyah (moderation) provide a strong ethical foundation for responsible digital engagement while reinforcing students' moral and spiritual identities. Furthermore, effective implementation requires innovative learning strategies, the integration of digital technologies into Islamic education, and collaborative support from educators, families, and communities. The study concludes that digital literacy-based Islamic education offers a comprehensive and sustainable framework for strengthening Generation Z's character, enabling them to become morally responsible, digitally literate, and socially engaged citizens capable of responding to the challenges of the digital age.
