Abstract

Background. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership, school culture, and self-efficacy on teacher performance, both partially and simultaneously. Specifically, this study examines how leadership affects teacher performance in carrying out their duties, the extent to which school culture contributes to creating a work environment that supports performance improvement, and the role of self-efficacy in building teacher confidence and professionalism. Purpose. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership, school culture, and self-efficacy on teacher performance, both partially and simultaneously. Method. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto method. The population in this study were 78 teachers of SMP Negeri Kuala Kampar District, with a sample size of 78 people selected using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done through distributing questionnaires, which were then analyzed using multiple linear regression, partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test), and the coefficient of determination (R²). Results. The results showed that leadership has a positive and significant influence on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). School culture also has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Similarly, self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Simultaneously, leadership, school culture, and self-efficacy have a significant influence on teacher performance with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion. These findings suggest that effective principal leadership can create a conducive work environment and increase teacher motivation, while a positive school culture supports teachers' professionalism and commitment in carrying out their duties. In addition, high self-efficacy encourages teachers to be more confident in managing learning. Therefore, a holistic approach that includes adaptive leadership, inclusive school culture, and strengthening teachers' self-efficacy is needed to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Background. In Indonesia, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which represent a significant portion of the economy, often face challenges in accessing traditional financial services due to limited access to banking and credit facilities. Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms have emerged as a viable alternative to address the financing gap for unbanked MSMEs. Purpose. This study investigates the role of P2P lending platforms in promoting financial inclusion among unbanked MSMEs in Indonesia, focusing on their potential to provide easier access to capital and foster economic growth. Method. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with MSME owners and financial experts. A total of 200 MSMEs across various sectors were surveyed, and 15 in-depth interviews were conducted to explore the experiences of MSME owners using P2P lending services. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics and thematic analysis to understand the impact of P2P lending on business performance, financial inclusion, and economic empowerment. Results. The findings reveal that P2P lending platforms have significantly improved access to capital for unbanked MSMEs, enabling them to expand their operations and enhance their financial stability. However, challenges such as high-interest rates, limited awareness, and lack of financial literacy remain. Conclusion. The study concludes that P2P lending platforms play a crucial role in enhancing financial inclusion for MSMEs in Indonesia. To maximize their impact, there is a need for more targeted financial literacy programs and policy support to improve the accessibility and sustainability of these platforms for unbanked MSMEs.

Abstract

Background. The rapid expansion of AI-driven management systems in the gig economy has transformed labor processes, reshaping how autonomy, decision-making, and work conditions are structured. This study addresses the growing concern that algorithmic oversight may simultaneously enhance efficiency while constraining workers’ control over their tasks and mobility. Purpose. The research aims to examine how gig workers interpret, negotiate, and respond to algorithmic management practices embedded in digital labor platforms. Method. Using a qualitative design, the study draws on in-depth interviews and digital ethnography involving ride-hailing and delivery workers across multiple urban regions. Results. The findings reveal a dualistic impact: algorithms streamline workflow coordination and reduce transactional ambiguity, yet they also introduce opaque decision rules, performance scoring pressures, and subtle forms of behavioral nudging that weaken workers’ perceived autonomy. Participants reported adaptive strategies, such as system gaming and collective knowledge sharing, to counterbalance algorithmic constraints. Conclusion. The study concludes that AI-driven management does not uniformly diminish autonomy but reconfigures it through dynamic tensions between control, dependency, and worker agency. These insights underscore the need for regulatory frameworks and platform design principles that ensure transparency, fairness, and human-centered governance in algorithmic workplaces.

Abstract

Background. The rapid expansion of big data infrastructures in Southeast Asian megacities has reshaped the formulation and implementation of urban public policy, raising concerns about algorithmic governance and emerging forms of social stratification. Urban administrations increasingly rely on predictive analytics, biometric systems, and real-time surveillance tools to guide decision-making, yet the socio-political implications of these technologies remain insufficiently understood. Purpose. This study aims to critically examine how big data systems influence policy priorities, resource allocation, and the lived experiences of marginalized urban communities. Method. . A qualitative research design was employed, combining policy document analysis, expert interviews, and digital ethnography across three major Southeast Asian cities. Results. The findings reveal that big data governance enhances administrative efficiency but simultaneously reinforces structural inequalities through opaque categorization practices, risk scoring models, and selective visibility regimes. These mechanisms privilege affluent districts while amplifying precarity in low-income urban populations. Conclusion. The study concludes that big data functions as both a technocratic tool and a political instrument, producing uneven urban outcomes shaped by existing socio-economic hierarchies. The results underscore the need for transparent data governance frameworks and equity-oriented urban policy reforms.

Abstract

Background. The growing prevalence of algorithmically curated social media environments has intensified concerns about youth civic disengagement, particularly among digital natives who rely heavily on online platforms for information and social interaction. Emerging scholarship suggests that echo chambers may limit exposure to diverse viewpoints, yet their specific influence on political apathy among young users remains insufficiently examined. Purpose. This study aims to investigate how social media echo chambers shape patterns of civic disengagement and attenuate political motivation among digital native populations. Method. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining a survey of 512 respondents aged 18–25 with in-depth interviews and digital trace analysis of users’ online interaction networks. Results. The findings indicate that strong echo chamber effects correlate with reduced interest in public affairs, lower perceived political efficacy, and diminished motivation to participate in offline or institutional civic activities. Interview data reveal that repetitive, ideologically homogeneous content fosters a sense of political fatigue and reinforces disengaged orientations. Conclusion. The study concludes that echo chambers contribute to youth political apathy not through coercive influence but through the gradual normalization of passivity and selective avoidance within digital cultures. These results underscore the need for media literacy interventions and platform-level design strategies that promote exposure to diverse political perspectives.
