Abstract

Collective memory plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of group identity, particularly in multicultural societies. It encompasses the shared memories, narratives, and historical experiences that bind a group together, influencing cultural, social, and political dynamics. In multicultural contexts, the interaction of multiple collective memories can either strengthen group identity or lead to conflict, depending on how these memories are interpreted and shared. This study aims to explore the role of collective memory in shaping group identity within multicultural societies. It examines how the preservation and transmission of collective memories influence the formation of both individual and collective identities, and how these processes impact social cohesion and intergroup relations.  A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews and focus groups with members of diverse cultural groups in a multicultural urban setting. The study explores participants' collective memories related to historical events, cultural practices, and intergroup relationships, analyzing the ways these memories shape their identities. The findings indicate that collective memory significantly influences group identity, with shared historical experiences fostering a strong sense of belonging. However, divergent collective memories between groups also contribute to social divisions, particularly when historical narratives are contested. Collective memory is a powerful force in shaping group identity in multicultural societies. Understanding its role is essential for promoting social cohesion and resolving intergroup conflicts.

Abstract

The interaction between politics, economics, and faith continues to shape institutional development, governance practices, and socioeconomic outcomes across Muslim societies. Islamic principles influence public policy, economic behavior, social welfare systems, and perceptions of political legitimacy, This study aims to analyze the intersection of political institutions, economic structures, and Islamic values in contemporary Muslim societies and to examine how these dimensions collectively influence governance effectiveness and social development. A mixed-methods comparative research design was employed, integrating quantitative indicators of governance, economic performance, Islamic finance penetration, and institutional trust with qualitative analysis of policy frameworks, religious institutions, and development practices across selected Muslim-majority countries. Findings reveal that governance effectiveness plays a central role in mediating the relationship between faith-based institutions and socioeconomic outcomes. Results further indicate that religious values contribute positively to development when supported by accountable political and economic institutions. The study concludes that the political economy of Islam is best understood as a dynamic interaction among governance structures, economic systems, and faith-based values, where institutional capacity.

Abstract

Community-based forest management (CBFM) has gained prominence as a strategy for sustainable forest governance in tropical Asia. This approach seeks to empower local communities, enhance biodiversity conservation, and improve livelihoods. However, the implementation of CBFM faces numerous challenges that can hinder its effectiveness. This research aims to identify the key challenges and opportunities associated with CBFM in tropical Asia. The study seeks to provide insights into the factors influencing successful implementation and to highlight best practices that can enhance community engagement in forest management. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with community members, local officials, and NGOs, along with quantitative surveys of forest management practices. Case studies from selected countries in tropical Asia were analyzed to identify common themes and variations in CBFM implementation. Findings reveal that while CBFM has the potential to improve forest sustainability and empower communities, challenges such as inadequate capacity, lack of financial resources, and conflicting interests among stakeholders persist. Opportunities for enhancing CBFM include strengthening local governance structures, improving access to technology, and fostering partnerships with NGOs and government agencies. The study concludes that addressing the challenges of CBFM is essential for its success in tropical Asia. By leveraging the identified opportunities, stakeholders can enhance community participation and promote sustainable forest management. This research underscores the importance of an integrated approach that combines local knowledge with external support to achieve effective CBFM outcomes.

Abstract

Technology-enhanced learning has become increasingly prominent in primary education as schools integrate interactive digital platforms to support teaching and learning. These platforms are widely assumed to enhance student engagement and academic achievement, yet empirical evidence at the primary level remains uneven and context dependent. This study aims to examine the effects of interactive digital platforms on student engagement and academic achievement in primary education, with particular attention to the relationship between engagement dimensions and learning outcomes. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design involving experimental and control groups of primary school students. Data were collected using engagement questionnaires, curriculum-aligned achievement tests, classroom observations, and academic records. Inferential statistical analyses were conducted to compare group differences and examine relationships between engagement and achievement. The findings reveal that students exposed to interactive digital platforms demonstrated significantly higher levels of behavioral, emotional, and cognitive engagement than those receiving conventional instruction. Academic achievement scores were also significantly higher in the experimental group. Correlation analysis indicates a strong positive relationship between student engagement and achievement outcomes. The study concludes that interactive digital platforms positively influence engagement-driven learning in primary education when integrated within structured pedagogical practices. Technology-enhanced learning is most effective when engagement functions as a central mechanism linking digital interaction to academic success.

Abstract

Workplace resilience and personal development are critical factors influencing employee well-being and organizational success. Modern workplaces present numerous challenges, including high stress levels and rapid changes, necessitating effective strategies to enhance resilience and promote personal growth. Intervention programs have emerged as a promising approach to address these challenges, yet their impact on employee well-being requires further empirical investigation. This study examines the effect of workplace intervention programs on employee resilience, personal development, and overall well-being. A mixed-methods design was employed, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study involved 150 employees from diverse industries, divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group participated in a 10-week program that included resilience training, mindfulness practices, and goal-setting workshops. Data were collected through standardized well-being assessments, resilience scales, and semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed significant improvements in resilience scores and well-being indicators among the intervention group compared to the control group (p < 0.01). Participants reported enhanced emotional regulation, stress management, and self-efficacy. Qualitative insights highlighted increased motivation and a stronger sense of purpose as key outcomes of the program.

Abstract

Psychological resilience is a crucial factor in overcoming challenges and maintaining mental well-being, particularly in the face of adversity. Recent research suggests that gratitude practices may enhance resilience by fostering positive emotions, reducing stress, and improving overall psychological health. However, the specific mechanisms through which gratitude influences resilience remain underexplored. This study aims to examine the role of gratitude practices in enhancing psychological resilience. The research explores how regular engagement in gratitude exercises can improve individuals' ability to cope with stress and adapt to difficult situations. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data were collected from 250 participants, with a focus on measuring gratitude levels, psychological resilience, and stress responses before and after a 4-week gratitude intervention. The Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ-6) and the Resilience Scale for Adults (RSA) were used to assess participants' emotional well-being and resilience. The findings indicated that participants who engaged in gratitude practices reported significantly higher levels of psychological resilience, as well as lower stress levels, compared to those who did not. Gratitude was shown to increase positive emotions and enhance adaptive coping strategies in stressful situations. This study concludes that gratitude practices are effective in enhancing psychological resilience.

Abstract

The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the manufacturing industry has revolutionized production processes globally, offering enhanced automation, real-time monitoring, and improved decision-making. In Indonesia, however, the application of IoT in the manufacturing sector remains limited despite its potential to increase productivity and efficiency. The primary objective of this research is to assess the role of IoT in enhancing operational efficiency and productivity in Indonesia’s manufacturing industry. The study also aims to identify the barriers to IoT adoption and provide recommendations for overcoming these challenges. This study utilizes a case study approach, focusing on selected manufacturing companies in Indonesia that have integrated IoT technologies into their production processes. Data was collected through interviews, surveys, and site visits, supplemented by secondary data from industry reports. Qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques were applied to evaluate the findings. The research indicates that IoT implementation has led to significant improvements in process optimization, reduced downtime, and better resource management. However, challenges such as high initial costs, lack of skilled personnel, and resistance to change were identified as key obstacles hindering broader adoption. The findings highlight the transformative potential of IoT in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector.

Abstract

Mikania micrantha, an invasive weed, poses significant ecological threats in Indonesian national parks, outcompeting native vegetation and disrupting ecosystems. Traditional control methods, such as chemical herbicides, have proven inefficient and harmful to surrounding biodiversity. This study aimed to develop a fungal-based mycoherbicide to provide a sustainable, environmentally friendly solution for controlling Mikania micrantha. The research isolated and tested indigenous fungal strains for their mycoherbicidal properties against Mikania micrantha in two national parks: Bukit Barisan Selatan and Gunung Leuser. Field trials were conducted to assess the efficacy of the selected fungal strain on weed density and biomass reduction. The results demonstrated that the mycoherbicide significantly reduced Mikania micrantha density (54%) and biomass (60%) in treated quadrats compared to untreated controls. The treatment was more effective in wetter conditions, where fungal spore germination and plant infection were enhanced. These findings suggest that mycoherbicides can effectively control Mikania micrantha while minimizing the environmental impact of traditional herbicides. This study highlights the potential for fungal-based biocontrol methods as a viable tool in invasive species management. Further research is needed to evaluate the long-term effects and scalability of this mycoherbicide for broader applications in tropical ecosystems.

Abstract

Dengue fever is a significant global health threat, where rapid and accurate diagnosis is crucial for timely clinical intervention and outbreak management. Conventional diagnostic methods are often centralized, time-consuming, and require sophisticated equipment, limiting their utility in point-of-care (POC) settings. This study reports the development and validation of a novel lab-on-a-chip (LoC) device integrating gold nanosensors for the ultrasensitive electrochemical detection of the Dengue virus non-structural protein 1 (NS1). The microfluidic device was fabricated using soft lithography, and the gold electrode surfaces were functionalized with specific anti-NS1 monoclonal antibodies. Detection was performed using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), measuring the change in current response upon immunocomplex formation. The developed immunosensor exhibited a wide linear dynamic range and an exceptionally low limit of detection (LoD) of 1.5 pg/mL for the NS1 antigen. Furthermore, the device demonstrated high selectivity against other interfering proteins. Our findings successfully establish a robust, miniaturized LoC platform for the rapid and highly sensitive detection of dengue biomarkers. This device holds significant potential as a powerful POC diagnostic tool for the early detection of dengue fever, particularly in resource-limited environments.

Abstract

At-risk youth frequently encounter significant socio-economic obstacles, leading to high vulnerability to unemployment and social exclusion. Community-based entrepreneurship training programs are increasingly employed as vital interventions to foster self-sufficiency and build economic resilience. However, empirical evidence specifically quantifying their direct impact on the entrepreneurial mindset of this marginalized demographic remains limited. This research aims to assess the impact of a community-based entrepreneurship training program on fostering an entrepreneurial mindset—specifically entrepreneurial knowledge, self-confidence, and business intention—among at-risk youth. The study also explores the influential role of support factors like mentorship. A mixed-methods design was implemented. The quantitative phase utilized pre- and post-program surveys (N=100) to measure changes in key indicators. The qualitative phase included semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions to gain deeper insights into participant experiences and mindset shifts. Data was analyzed using paired t-tests and thematic analysis. Quantitative analysis showed a statistically significant increase across all measured indicators post-program. Entrepreneurial knowledge and confidence in starting a business saw dramatic increases, from 28% to 85% and 32% to 80% respectively. Furthermore, the intention to pursue entrepreneurship rose from 40% to 75%. Qualitative results underscored the crucial role of mentorship and peer networking in translating knowledge into actionable plans. The findings confirm that tailored community-based entrepreneurship training is highly effective and transformative, not only equipping at-risk youth with technical skills but also significantly empowering them psychologically to pursue entrepreneurship as a viable path for socio-economic mobility. This model warrants continued adoption and scalable implementation.
