Abstract

The hospitality industry is characterized by intense competition and a high level of employee turnover, making effective leadership essential for enhancing employee loyalty. This study aims to investigate the relationship between empowering leadership and employee loyalty in the hospitality industry, as well as to examine the mediating roles of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in this relationship. Using a quantitative approach with a survey design, data were collected from 170 hotel employees across several major cities in Indonesia through a structured questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using Hayes’ (2018) PROCESS Macro for SPSS version 3.0, employing Model 4 to test a parallel multiple mediation model. The findings reveal that empowering leadership has a significant positive effect on employee loyalty. Furthermore, job satisfaction and organizational commitment are found to partially mediate the relationship between empowering leadership and employee loyalty. Specifically, empowering leadership significantly and positively influences both job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and these two mediators, in turn, significantly and positively affect employee loyalty. These results underscore the importance of adopting empowering leadership practices to foster employee retention and strengthen loyalty in the hospitality sector. Organizations seeking to reduce turnover and enhance long-term workforce stability should prioritize leadership approaches that empower employees while simultaneously cultivating positive psychological conditions, particularly job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

Abstract

Purchases of blind box products among Generation Z indicate a tendency toward impulsive buying driven by uncertainty regarding product contents. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived uncertainty on impulse buying and to test the roles of curiosity as a mediating variable and perceived luck as a moderating variable. This research adopts a quantitative design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z blind box consumers aged 18–28 years in Indonesia and analysed using PLS-SEM. The results show that perceived uncertainty has a positive and significant effect on both impulse buying and curiosity. However, curiosity does not have a significant effect on impulse buying and therefore does not mediate the relationship between perceived uncertainty and impulse buying. In addition, perceived luck does not significantly moderate the relationship between perceived uncertainty and impulse buying. The findings indicate that product uncertainty can directly trigger impulsive buying behaviour without the involvement of curiosity or perceived luck.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital financial literacy, peer influence, self-control, and lifestyle on the saving behavior of Generation Z K-Pop fans in Java. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. The research population is Generation Z K-Pop fans in Java, with sampling using non-probability snowball sampling. Data was collected through an online questionnaire and 220 respondents who met the research criteria were obtained. Data analysis was performed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS software version 4.1.1.4. The results showed that digital financial literacy and peer influence did not affect on saving behavior. Meanwhile, self-control and lifestyle had a positive and significant effect on the saving behaviour of Generation Z K-Pop fans in Java. This study contributes by explaining saving behavior within fandom-based consumption contexts, where financial decisions are driven by both emotional attachment and planned saving strategies. The practical implications emphasize the importance of continuous and inclusive financial education initiatives led by regulators, alongside improved accessibility and quality of banking services to support effective financial management. Additionally, the findings suggest the K-pop industry can contribute by providing secure, flexible payment features that encourage responsible financial planning, thereby helping individuals minimize financial risks and make more structured spending decisions.

Abstract

The maritime logistics industry in Indonesia faces major challenges in high national logistics costs and regulatory pressures regarding halal product guarantees. This study aims to analyze the structural relationships among the perception of halal logistics implementation, digital transformation, and customer experience on customer loyalty by positioning brand image and cost efficiency as dual mediating variables. This explanatory quantitative study employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), gathering empirical data from 254 actual respondents who are decision-makers in companies utilizing maritime logistics services in Indonesia. The structural analysis results reveal that the perception of halal logistics implementation does not exert a significant indirect effect on customer loyalty when mediated solely through brand image. However, customer loyalty is significantly established through serial mediation pathways that integrate digital transformation, operating through both brand image and cost efficiency mediation. These findings confirm that operational compliance with halal logistics must be synchronized with digitalization capabilities to generate operational cost savings and a credible reputation valued by rational customers. This study offers theoretical novelty by integrating the Resource-Based View and Relationship Marketing Theory to explain dual mediation mechanisms within the maritime halal supply chain.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Innovation in Human Resource Practice and Innovation Capabilities This study examines how Innovative Human Resource Practices (IHRPs) and Innovation Capabilities contribute to the performance of Food and Beverage SMEs in Bogor City through Competitive Advantage. The specific gap concerns how these two internal resources and capabilities are translated into performance, as prior research has commonly positioned them in a sequential relationship rather than as parallel antecedents of Competitive Advantage and performance. A quantitative explanatory design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. Data were collected from 100 SME owners or managers selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4. The direct effects show that Competitive Advantage had the strongest effect on SME performance (β = 0.386), followed by Innovation Capabilities (β = 0.346) and IHRPs (β = 0.212). Both IHRPs and Innovation Capabilities also significantly strengthened Competitive Advantage. More importantly, Competitive Advantage partially mediated the effects of IHRPs (β = 0.145) and Innovation Capabilities (β = 0.159) on SME performance, indicating complementary direct and indirect pathways. The study contributes by positioning IHRPs and Innovation Capabilities as parallel internal antecedents and identifying Competitive Advantage as their shared conversion mechanism. These findings clarify how internal resources and capabilities are transformed into stronger business performance by first being translated into a distinctive competitive position.

Abstract

Indonesia’s post-pandemic economic recovery during 2020–2023 has not fully stabilized; however, the manufacturing sector continues to show positive performance, indicated by the upward trend in the Purchasing Managers’ Index and Gross Domestic Product. These conditions highlight the need to examine factors that may influence firm performance. This study aims to analyze the effects of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, independent commissioners, firm size, and conservatism on the performance of manufacturing companies in Indonesia. A quantitative approach with an explanatory method was employed using panel data regression. Model selection was conducted through the Chow Test, Lagrange Multiplier Test, and Hausman Test. The sample consisted of 33 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2019–2023, resulting in 165 observations. Data were obtained from annual financial reports using purposive sampling and analyzed using STATA 17. The analytical procedure included classical assumption tests, panel data regression, and robust standard errors. The findings indicate that managerial ownership, institutional ownership, independent commissioners, and firm size have no significant effect on firm performance. Conversely, conservatism has a significant negative effect on performance, indicating that higher levels of conservative reporting practices may reduce reported financial performance. In conclusion, ownership structure and firm size are not significant determinants of performance, whereas conservatism has a negative effect. Practically, manufacturing companies should focus on efficient asset utilization and apply conservative reporting proportionally to maintain financial reporting quality without unnecessarily suppressing reported profitability

Abstract

Firm value represents the market value that investors are willing to pay as a form of capital investment and reflects external stakeholders’ perceptions of a company’s success in managing and operating its business activities. This study examines the effects of carbon emission disclosure, environmental performance, green innovation, green investment, board independence, commissioners, and financial performance on firm value in the basic materials sector during the 2021–2024 period. This research employs a causal research design with a quantitative approach. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, yielding 27 basic materials companies. By taking a research time span of 4 years, the final observation data amount to 108. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with STATA 17 as the analytical tool. The results indicate that carbon emission disclosure, environmental performance, green innovation, green investment, board independence, commissioners, and financial performance do not have a significant effect on firm value. These findings suggest that the market has not yet fully appreciated environmental aspects, governance mechanisms, and financial performance when they are considered separately and are not accompanied by high-quality implementation and clear economic benefits. Therefore, companies are encouraged to integrate sustainability disclosures and practices into their business strategies, operational efficiency, and measurable performance targets. In addition, the assessment of firm value should not rely solely on indicators such as return on assets (ROA) or the formal structure of board independence commissioners, but should also take into account future prospects, growth potential, and long-term impacts.

Abstract

This study examines the relationships among market capability, institutional support, innovation adoption, and economic growth in Indonesian agricultural commodity companies. Previous studies have largely examined market capability in relation to firm performance or innovation separately, while limited research has integrated market capability and institutional support with innovation adoption to explain economic outcomes in the agricultural commodity sector. Addressing this gap, this study develops and empirically tests a model in which innovation adoption functions as a mediating mechanism linking market capability and institutional support to economic growth. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) based on data from managerial-level respondents from agricultural commodity companies in Indonesia. The findings indicate that market capability has a positive and significant effect on economic growth and innovation adoption. Institutional support also has a positive and significant effect on both economic growth and innovation adoption. Furthermore, innovation adoption has a positive and significant effect on economic growth and acts as a significant mediating mechanism in the relationships between market capability and economic growth, as well as between institutional support and economic growth. The study contributes by positioning innovation adoption as a mechanism through which market capability and institutional support are translated into economic growth. These findings provide practical implications for strengthening market capability, institutional support, and innovation adoption to enhance the economic growth of agricultural commodity companies.
