Abstract

This research aims to examine the implementation of benchmarking in the management of the Student Organization Intra School (OSIS) at MAS Al-Anwar Pontianak and analyze its effectiveness in improving the quality of the student organization. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, literature study, and surveys. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that benchmarking against OSIS MAN 1 Pontianak has made a positive contribution to the development of work programs, leadership training, documentation digitization, and strengthening external cooperation. The implementation of benchmarking was carried out through five stages: planning, analysis, integration, implementation, and operational maturity. However, the effectiveness of the implementation still faces several challenges such as the lack of active member participation, weak internal communication, and limited facilities. Nevertheless, benchmarking has proven to be a strategy capable of driving organizational culture transformation and the continuous improvement of OSIS quality. This study recommends strengthening mentoring, enhancing the competence of the management, and conducting regular evaluations to achieve maximum organizational success.

Abstract

The formation of students' religious character has become a crucial aspect of the national education system, particularly in the context of global challenges and adolescent moral crises. Al Firdaus Senior High School Sukoharjo, as a school based on national and international curricula (International Baccalaureate), develops Islamic Religious Education (IRE) curriculum integratively to strengthen students' religious values. This research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and impact of IRE curriculum on students' religious character formation. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants consist of the school principal, IRE teachers, and grade XI students. Research results show that curriculum planning is conducted through the development of learning modules based on learning achievements and contextual learning objectives. Learning implementation is carried out dialogically, reflectively, and based on student experiences. The impact of curriculum implementation is evident in the improvement of students' religiosity indicators, such as worship discipline, participation in religious activities, and strengthening of moral and social values. These findings affirm the importance of synergy between flexible planning, religious environment, and meaningful learning methods. The implications of this research indicate that schools need to continuously develop value-based curriculum and contextual learning to form individuals with good character and integrity in the global era.

Abstract

Green Education represents an instructional paradigm that integrates environmental sustainability principles with Islamic character values in the learning process. This study aims to examine the understanding and implementation of Green Education among students and educators at MTs Asih Putera Cimahi as a mechanism for cultivating Islamic character. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collected through surveys and interviews with purposively selected participants. The findings reveal that 78% of students demonstrate a strong grasp of Green Education concepts, while 22% require further clarification. Among educators, 85% have successfully incorporated these principles into their teaching practices, though 15% still face challenges. Key supporting factors include the availability of facilities (72%), integration of environmentally oriented curricula (68%), and institutional support (81%). However, notable obstacles include the lack of specific instructional materials (60%) and insufficient teacher training (55%). The study concludes that Green Education is moderately well-understood and applied, though improvements in training, materials, and student engagement are recommended.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the values of Islamic education found in Surah Al-‘Alaq verses 1–5 and their relevance to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with thematic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i) and contextual analysis, this study explores three core educational values presented in the first revelation of the Qur’an: (1) spiritual education (faith and worship), (2) moral and psychosocial education (ethics and self-development), and (3) intellectual and scientific education (literacy and scientific exploration). The findings indicate that these values align with the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly in shaping students to be faithful, critical thinkers, creative, and globally-minded. Integrating the values of Al-‘Alaq into the Merdeka Curriculum can be realized through project-based learning that connects Qur'anic literacy with science, habituation of noble character, and reinforcement of 21st-century competencies. These findings affirm that a holistic Islamic educational approach is not only compatible with the vision of national education but also offers solutions to contemporary challenges such as moral decline and the fragmentation of knowledge in the modern era. Keywords: Islamic Education, Surah Al-Alaq, Merdeka Curriculum, Tafsir Tarbawi, Pancasila Student Profile

Abstract

This study critically examines the educational philosophy of Ibn Khaldun and its significance for the development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in contemporary contexts. The research addresses the limited scholarly attention to Ibn Khaldun’s specific contributions to curriculum and pedagogy, despite their enduring relevance. Using a qualitative library research approach, the study analyzes Muqaddimah as the primary source, supported by secondary literature, and applies thematic content analysis within a socio-historical framework. The findings demonstrate that Ibn Khaldun formulated a holistic educational model integrating transmitted (naqli) and rational (‘aqli) knowledge, emphasized the methods of tadrīj (gradual learning) and takrīr (repetition) aligned with modern cognitive psychology, and viewed education as a means to strengthen asabiyyah (social solidarity). These concepts not only describe and explain educational phenomena but also provide predictive insights applicable to twenty-first-century pedagogy. The study concludes that Ibn Khaldun’s philosophy offers an integrative model that can inform curriculum innovation, character education, and the renewal of Islamic pedagogy in the modern era.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a character education model, known as the A-K Model, based on Islamic adab values within the context of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in West Bandung Regency, utilizing a qualitative approach that employs the Research and Development (R&D) method. Data were collected through participatory observations, in-depth interviews with 15 teachers and 120 students, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving Islamic education experts and madrasah practitioners. The study's findings revealed that integrating Islamic adab values into the four pillars integrated curriculum, teacher example, habituation of daily rituals (such as muhasabah), and community collaboration resulted in a 40% increase in student discipline and a 35% increase in empathy within one semester. This model introduces a multidimensional measurement index that combines quantitative (attendance, compliance) and qualitative (journal reflection, attitude observation) aspects, as well as community collaboration based on Bandura's Social Learning principles, Lickona's moral knowing–feeling–behavior concept, and Vygotsky's framework of social constructivism that emphasizes the role of social interaction in character formation in shaping social multiplication effects, in which 65% of parents report positive behavioral changes in the family environment. The conclusion of the study confirms that the A-K Model is not only effective in the socio-cultural context of West Bandung Regency but also answers the gap in previous literature by integrating the Islamic spiritual dimension into the framework of modern character education. Policy recommendations include case-based teacher training, dedicated budgeting for supporting facilities, and replication of models in regions with different characteristics.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning outcomes through the use of the interactive digital medium Wordwall in a fourth-grade class at SDN Bulansari, Subang Regency, a rural school with limited technological infrastructure. A mixed-method quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups was employed, involving 60 purposively selected fourth-grade students. Data were collected through standardized cognitive assessments, classroom observations, interviews, and focus group discussions. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests in SPSS, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis with NVivo. The findings reveal a significant improvement in the mean cognitive IRE score, from 65 (pre-test) to 82 (post-test) (p < 0.05), alongside an 85% affective engagement rate in moral values discussions. A key observation highlights Wordwall’s capacity to accelerate students’ digital literacy and reinforce the internalization of Islamic values, even within infrastructural constraints. The study concludes that Wordwall is an effective tool for improving both cognitive and character-based learning outcomes, with potential to bridge the digital divide and support

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of online game addiction on students’ emotional dynamics, behavior, and learning motivation, as well as to identify the handling strategies implemented at MA Futuhiyyah Kudu Semarang. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that online game addiction significantly affects three main aspects. First, the emotional aspect, characterized by emotional instability, irritability, and the emergence of anxiety when not playing. Second, the behavioral aspect, which includes a decline in discipline, tardiness, disrupted sleep patterns, procrastination, and low participation in social and religious activities. Third, the learning motivation aspect, which decreases both intrinsically and extrinsically, with students showing more interest in in-game achievements than in academic performance. The handling strategies implemented include solution-focused individual counseling, digital literacy socialization, restrictions on mobile phone use at school, integration of Islamic moderation values into learning, and the provision of alternative activities. Nevertheless, their effectiveness remains limited due to a lack of counseling resources, low parental understanding, and student resistance. This study recommends a holistic approach involving synergy between teachers, parents, and the social environment, with an emphasis on self-control and balanced use of technology in accordance with Islamic values

Abstract

The development of religious character education has become one of the crucial aspects in efforts to form a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also possesses moral and spiritual integrity. This study aims to examine the contribution of Islamic spiritual mentoring activities and religious character to the learning achievement of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among students at State Senior High School 1 Mojolaban in the academic year 2024/2025. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method. The population of this study consists of all students participating in Islamic Spiritual Activities (Rohis) totaling 136 individuals, with a randomly selected sample of 73 students. Data collection instruments include questionnaires, documentation, and student report cards. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation test and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the implementation of mentoring activities and the level of students' religious character are in the moderate category. Students' PAI learning achievement also shows moderate to high categories. However, statistical test results demonstrate that there is no significant influence, either partially or simultaneously, between Islamic spiritual mentoring and religious character on PAI learning achievement. The coefficient of determination is only 0.1%. These findings imply that the formation of religious character and improvement of PAI learning outcomes require a more integrative approach, involving the roles of teachers, families, and the educational environment comprehensively. This research encourages evaluation and strengthening of mentoring activities and their integration into the formal learning system.
