Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the antecedents of customer loyalty by analyzing the effects of service quality, trust, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty at Mixue Sungai Penuh. The research seeks to develop an empirical model explaining how these key relational constructs contribute to strengthening long-term customer commitment in the food and beverage industry. Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a quantitative approach with a causal design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 85 customers of Mixue Sungai Penuh using a purposive sampling technique. The measurement items were adapted from established scales in the marketing literature. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 to test the direct effects of service quality, trust, and customer satisfaction on customer loyalty. Findings: The results reveal that service quality, trust, and customer satisfaction simultaneously have a significant effect on customer loyalty. Partially, service quality and trust significantly influence customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction significantly affects customer loyalty. These findings indicate that customer satisfaction plays a crucial role in strengthening loyalty, while service quality and trust function as key drivers in shaping positive customer perceptions and behavioral intentions. Research implications: This study enriches the empirical literature on customer loyalty by confirming the importance of service quality, trust, and satisfaction in a local food and beverage retail context. Practically, the findings suggest that managers should prioritize consistent service performance and trust-building strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and ultimately foster loyalty. Future studies are encouraged to involve larger samples and additional variables to improve generalizability and theoretical development.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the influence of social media marketing and brand image on consumer purchase decisions, with brand awareness acting as a mediating variable. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method. Data were collected from 80 consumers through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests as well as path analysis using SPSS to evaluate both direct and indirect relationships among variables. Findings: The results indicate that social media marketing and brand image did not show a significant influence on purchase decisions. Furthermore, brand awareness did not significantly mediate the relationship between social media marketing, brand image, and purchase decisions. These findings suggest that, in this context, the effectiveness of social media marketing and brand image in shaping consumer purchasing behavior remains limited. Research implications: The findings provide insights for retail businesses, particularly small and medium-sized cosmetic retailers, to reconsider their marketing strategies. Businesses may need to integrate alternative marketing approaches, such as experiential marketing, customer engagement strategies, and product differentiation, to enhance consumer awareness and purchasing behavior.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine whether price promotion strategies—specifically discounts and free shipping—significantly influence online purchase decisions among Generation Z consumers in the Indonesian e-commerce context. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research design was employed using a survey method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 120 respondents aged 18–25 who actively shop on Shopee. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings: The results reveal that both discounts and free shipping have a positive and significant effect on online purchase decisions. Free shipping emerges as the more dominant factor, as it is perceived to provide greater economic value and reduce transaction-related cost concerns among Generation Z consumers. Research implications: The findings reinforce consumer behavior theory by highlighting the critical role of price-related incentives and transaction convenience in shaping purchasing decisions in the digital marketplace. Practically, the study suggests that e-commerce platforms should strategically prioritize free shipping programs alongside discount promotions to effectively attract and retain young consumers in highly competitive online markets.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the influence of trust, sharia compliance, and technology quality on the adoption of digital financial innovation at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Purworejo Branch. The research is motivated by the relatively low adoption rate of digital Islamic banking services in non-metropolitan areas, despite digital transformation being a strategic priority in the development of Indonesia’s Islamic financial industry. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. Data were collected from active users of the BYOND by BSI application selected through purposive sampling. Statistical analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine both partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on digital innovation adoption. Findings: The findings reveal that trust, sharia compliance, and technology quality simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on the adoption of digital financial innovation. Partially, all variables significantly influence adoption, with trust emerging as the most dominant factor. These results indicate that religious-based trust plays a more substantial role than purely technical considerations in shaping customers’ adoption behavior in Islamic digital banking services. Research implications: Theoretically, this study strengthens and extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by integrating a spiritual and sharia-compliance dimension within the Islamic finance context. Practically, the findings encourage BSI to enhance contract transparency, strengthen digital sharia literacy programs, and improve customer data protection systems. Future research is recommended to adopt the Diffusion of Innovations (DoI) framework to further examine the broader dissemination process of digital sharia innovation across diverse regional contexts.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the reasons why small-scale and home-based culinary business owners increasingly adopt Instagram influencer marketing despite its uncertain outcomes. It also seeks to evaluate the extent to which collaboration with influencers affects customers’ purchase intentions and contributes to business growth. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative approach was employed through an online questionnaire distributed to 22 owners of various culinary businesses, most of which operate on a small or home-based scale. The collected data were analyzed to identify patterns in Instagram usage, influencer collaboration practices, and consumer responses to promotional activities. Findings: The findings reveal that 77.3% of respondents manage home-based culinary businesses and rely on Instagram as their primary marketing channel. Influencer marketing significantly increases consumer interest, particularly when integrated with Instagram’s visual features such as Stories, Reels, and feed posts. These features enhance brand exposure and foster positive consumer attitudes. However, small businesses face notable challenges, including high collaboration costs and difficulties in measuring the tangible impact of influencer campaigns. Research implications: This study highlights the strategic importance of Instagram influencer marketing for small culinary enterprises in improving brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales performance. However, sustainable outcomes require integration with original content creation, direct customer interaction, and participatory promotional strategies. The findings contribute to the understanding of digital marketing adoption among micro and home-based food businesses and provide practical insights for optimizing influencer collaborations.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper aims to examine how urban planning responds to pressing contemporary global challenges, including rapid urbanization, climate change, housing shortages, and social inequality. It seeks to identify strategic approaches that enhance sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity in urban development. Design/methodology/approach: The study adopts a qualitative review approach by synthesizing recent scholarly literature and selected international case studies on urban planning practices. Through comparative and thematic analysis, the paper evaluates current planning strategies and emerging policy frameworks addressing global urban issues. Findings: The findings indicate that integrated planning approaches—combining sustainability principles, climate resilience strategies, and inclusive governance mechanisms—are critical for managing complex urban challenges. Innovative models such as adaptive urban design, participatory planning, and data-driven governance enhance cities’ capacity to respond to environmental and socio-economic uncertainties. Research implications: This study contributes to contemporary urban planning discourse by emphasizing the need for multidimensional and adaptive planning frameworks. The findings provide theoretical insights for scholars and practical guidance for policymakers seeking to develop future-ready and resilient cities in an era of global transformation.
