We are interested in scholarship that crosses disciplinary lines and speaks to readers from a range of theoretical and methodological perspectives. In other words, INFORMASI will be a forum for scholars when they address the wider audiences of our many sub-fields and specialties, rather than the location for the narrower conversations more appropriately conducted within more specialized journals. INFORMASI published twice a year (June and December) in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

Abstract

Based on the results of research, Public Relations of water supply company Ternate city in complain handling Ake Gaale water source, they perform of internal an external function. Public Relations of water supply company Ternate city excecutes four important steps started fact finding and defining the problem, planning and programming, action and communication, and evaluation. In the evaluation step, Public Relation of water supply company Ternate city found that each of the programs was not effectively done. Alternative step taken by Public relation was engaging the Government of Ternate to be involved in the follow-up meeting about problems at Ake Gaale water source, as well as the presence by Government of Ternate also intended to be a mediator in the mediation process between water supply company Ternate city and residents of Sangaji that failed to build their communication each other.

Abstract

Research on Political Economy of Media: At the news ahead of elections for the governor of Banten in 2017 by Radar Banten and Baraya TV, phenomenon triggered by the loosening of the values of objectivity and independence of the mass media in carrying out its functions as set in the Press Law and the Broadcasting Law. At the time of the campaign, the candidates for governor and lieutenant governor are competing to get the "place "˜and is known well as sell to prospective election promise to get sympathy. At the time, the media seemed to forget the function and position. This study aims to determine the phenomenon of media relations with the candidates and how the phenomenon of the political economy of media in both institutions (Radar Banten and Baraya Pos) at the time before the election for governor of Banten in 2017. This study uses this study used a qualitative approach, with the constructivist paradigm and using the method of data collection through the depth-interview, the informant was elected. The results of the study illustrate that media relations (relations between) media with prospective relatively loose, drawn from observations and interviews show that the two media are "very affectionate" with the candidates, and the media policy in lifting more headlines have suggested the economic interests vis a vis political interests.

Abstract

The study aims to explain how the concept of integrated Islamic and the strategy of the teacher in SMA IT Abu Bakar Yogyakarta and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta produce the superior students. It refers to the development of SMA IT which always puts ethics, religion and the quality of the students. However, the main key to produce the superior students is the role of professional teacher who encourages the strong characteristic of students. The method of this research is qualitative and takes place in SMA IT Abu Bakar and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta. Furthermore, the samples of this research consist of twenty teachers. The result is that (1) SMA IT Abu Bakar and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta combine three elements such as the cooperation among the shool, societies, and family; the structured and programmed curriculum from kindergarten to university; tsaqafah Islam and science oriented. These are done to produce a superior student who masters science and technology and also has a good characteristic. (2) The communication strategy of the teachers in SMA IT Abu Bakar and SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta is effective. It can be seen from the fulfillment of communication elements on communication strategy which is used by the teacher to produce a superior student.Permasalahan pokok dalam penelitian ini adalah strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh guru sebagai agen perubah sosial, karena peran guru disini sangat penting dalam menghasilkan siswa yang unggul baik dalam bidang akademik maupun dalam bidang moral (akhlak mulia). Oleh karenanya, guru dituntut untuk tidak hanya mengajarkan mata pelajaran umum melainkan juga keagamaan hingga pelajaran mengenai akhlak. Hal ini dibutuhkan demi memberikan pembekalan "dasar moralitas" yang tergali dari kearifan tradisi kultural dan nilai-nilai doktrinal agama Islam yang kuat.Berdasar latar belakang di atas, maka penelitian ini secara khusus bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep pendidikan islam terpadu dan mengetahui strategi komunikasi guru di SMA IT Abu Bakar Yogyakarta dan SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta dalam menghasilkan siswa yang unggul. Selanjutnya peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian Focus Group Dsicussion (FGD) untuk memperoleh gambaran strategi komunikasi guru SMA IT dalam menghasilkan siswa yang unggul. Hasil penelitian ini nantinya akan dipublikasikan dalam jurnal lokal yang memiliki ISSN atau jurnal nasional terakreditasi.

Abstract

After the long period of the cinema industry decline, the number of audience who visit cinema increases significantly. However, the research to examine the phenomena of audience segmentation is very few. Therefore the study aim is to investigate cinema audience segmentation in Yogyakarta on the basis of the aspects that affects the audience film choice. Furthermore the mix-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative method in sequence was employed to attain the research objective. For the first step, three focus group discussions that involve 20 informants. The second step, survey was conducted involving 454 respondents. The result indicates that there are two different audience segments according their behaviors. The first segment visits the cinema as fun activities in their spare time meanwhile the second segment considers the activity as a cultural interest in order to enjoy the narrative and artistic aspects of a film

Abstract

Smoking has became the serious problem which always to be the classical dynamic ofhealth communication's field. Through health campaign by using pictorical warning incigarette packs, Indonesian Government has priority to reduce the number of smokersin Indonesia. Pictorical warning in cigarette packs was regard as one of communicationstrategic for implementing. Health campaign has outcome that could change thehealth behavior for the persuadee. Visualization by using image becomes persuasivecommunication tools cigarette packs as the communication media. EPPM model wasused to analysis this case. This paper was using literature study to understand thisproblem.

Abstract

In an effort to achieve a success, then the satisfaction of organizational communication is a very important factor, it "˜caused communication satisfaction is the result of a number of processes that are internal and external.Employees is one of the most important assets who participate in helping in the achievement effortof organizational goals that is realization of the vision and mission of the organization. Therefore, good cooperation between the organization and all employees are indispensable so that common goals can be realized. This research aims to find the influence of communication organizational satisfaction to employees performance in Secretariat Legislature Singkawang city. This research uses quantitative research, the method used in this research is survey method. In this research, researcher used a questionnaire as the data collection technique. Sample in this study is all civil servants in Secretariat Legislature Singkawang city numbered as many as 35 people. Data analysis techniques used in this study is simple linear regression analysis techniques. Based on the results of simple linear regression test, obtained constant values from the regression variable employees performance that is equal 26,603. While the regression coefficient of the variable communication organization satisfaction is positive that is equal 0,462. This means that the variable communication organization satisfaction have a positive influence on variable employees performance that is equal 0,462. Based on t-test result, obtained t value of 3,874, greater than the table value of 2,034. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0rejected. This mean that the amount of significant influence among the variables communication organization satisfaction to employees performance of 31,3% while the rest 68,7% influenced by other variable.

Abstract

This paper aims to give description about how to use frame analysis in Public Relations (PR) research. The author use two framing models: Entman and Pan & Kosicki. The object is organization official statement about particular issue. Frame analysis method rarely used in Public Relations research. This methods commonly use in journalism study, to analyse the news in media. Meanwhile, the key word of framing is the social construction of reality. Organization can make social construction of realty in their official statement. In acacemic term, frame analysis in PR research is useful to know how organization positioned themselves in particular situation. Other benefit is use to evaluat whether the organization frame is conformable with the public opinion or agenda setting media or not. In practical term, frame analysis give benefit for PR practitioner to create the message that can be undserstood by public, also give positive image for organization.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the perspective of symbolic interactionism students to kiai in the communication process in Al Munawwir Islamic Boarding School Krapyak Yogyakarta. To achieve the objectives of the study, researchers used a qualitative approach, with qualitative descriptive type. The subjects in this study were students at Al Munawwir Boarding School Krapyak Yogyakarta. Data retrieval is done through interviews and observation. Results found is that symbolic interactionism students are not deterministic. That is, what is done by the students of the kiai is a subjective awareness of students who interpret certain symbols through interaction. The fact then that creates a social world for students. Social world that includes an appearance, gestures and symbolic language emerged in social situations, so in this context, the social world at the boarding school students can be said is a product of individuals as actors who are active

Abstract

Nowadays football is not merely sport. It has become industry, even popular culture. This happen because on the same time mass media grows into mass culture industry. The union of football and mass media as industry has melted few social and culture boundaries. Socially"”through mass media"”football had joined many social background into football fans identity, and it even connect all over the world. Football had transformed into popular culture that always moves in instability that drain its fans's emotion. The football fans emotion in turn polarised into fans club which was created based on imaginary bound. Fans is the most visible part from text society and pop culture practice that could become fanatic. This fans fanatism phenomena could happen because the fans are pasif and patologic victim of mass media. This phenomena also mark the indication of transition from agricultural society into industrial and urban society.
