Abstract

This study analyzes the assimilation that occurs between the Arab descendants and the Malays in Tanjung Sub-District, Muntok District, West Bangka. The method of this study was a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study portray that the assimilation between Arab descendants and the Malays in Tanjung Sub-District has occurred since a long time ago. This assimilation does not suddenly occur, but there are several driving and inhibiting factors of this occurrence. The driving factors include religious similarity, trade (equal opportunity in the economic field), and mutual respect. On the contrary, the inhibiting factors consist of poor communication, lack of understanding of the other culture, as well as lack of sympathy for the other group. In addition, there are seven forms of assimilation that occur in Tanjung Sub-District, which are marital assimilation (amalgamation), cultural assimilation, structural assimilation, identification assimilation, attitude reception assimilation, behavior reception assimilation, and civic assimilation.

Abstract

The main focus of this paper is on Integrated Discussion Analysis in Publication Concerning Suspection of religious defamation of Daud Rafles in West Bangka. Religious communities in Bangka Belitung definitely need integration in order to create religious harmony. However, in the intensity of interaction and certain situations, friction will occur even though it is on a small scale and can still be minimized. Conflict control in Bangka Belitung can be carried out because of the large potential for integration in society. This potency has been growing and developing for a long time together with the patterns of dynamic society. Starting from the reflection on the publication of bangka.tribunnews.com concerning the case of religious defamation in West Bangka, it can be concluded, First, according to media perspective, the integrated discussion in the news framing of bangka.tribunnews.com is preferred, although it must cover the point of view with facts that have higher news value. Second, the discourse is crystallized in several certain points of view (angle). Third, it is not enough, the point of view referred to is detailed in the title, lead, news, conclusion or closing statement , and other related matters. Some of the technical elements of publication have to be interconnected, even between news items in one topic must also be related. Thus, the publication will further strengthen religious harmony in Bangka Belitung. This conclusion is supported by certain discourse points of view, such as using the point of view of the perpetrator who is strongly suspected of being proven guilty, religious defamation behavior should get serious offense , the police should be responsive, the judicial process is quite smooth, the peaceful message and respects the legal process that is running from the Indonesian Ulema Council ( MUI) Bangka Belitung, and the Religious Communication Forum (FKUB)

Abstract

Tourism is currently a new phenomenon in the world of tourism, and will be developed in various countries. tourists are very important in the progress of a country or city. The method used is qualitative, data collected using primary and secondary data. The analysis uses qualitative data analysis. The results of the analysis conclude that the communication strategy for tourist destinations in the city fortress of the Tempilang district is carried out through several stages in accordance with the communication strategy such as determining the audience, composing messages, determining the desired method, and determining the use of mass media and printed media. Aida and SWOT analysts are needed to determine a communication strategy. To make it easier to introduce the city fort in Tempilang, AIDA communication strategy and SWOT analysis are used. With the AIDA communication strategy and a structured SWOT analysis, it makes it easier to convey a message and the goals and objectives to be achieved. There is a strategy to increase the awareness of residents to come to visit the Tempilang city fort.

Abstract

Antusiasme masyarakat dan praktisi pendidikan merupakan langkah yang harus disambut baik oleh semua pihak terlebih pemerintah. Kenyataannya sekarang ini banyak berdiri lembaga Pendidkan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) yang memberi layanan pendidikan bagi anak-anak usia dini dengan beberapa macam layanan pendidikan yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat kebutuhan, ekonomi dan sosial budaya yang ada. Pendidikan Usia Dini adalah suatu upaya pembinaan yang diperuntukkan anak semenjak lahir sampai usia enam tahun, dengan pemberian rangsangan-rangsangan yang bersifat positif bagi tumbuh kembang anak. Campur tangan pemerintah melalui lembaga yang mewadahi layanan pendidikan sangat mendukung baik yang bersifat pembangunan infrastruktur ataupun sarana prasana yang mendukung lebih optimalnya layanan ini kepada anak usia dini. Untuk mendukung layanan tidak kalah pentingnya adalah peran Penilik, jabatan fungsional yang bertugas dikepenilikannya dalam pembimbingan dan pengendalian mutu serta evaluasi dampak program PAUD. Dengan dukungan pemerintah dan masyarakat yang memberikan semangat dan motivasi positif bagi keterlibatan stakeholder dalam dunia pendidikan khusus layanan PAUD.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss about sexting, which is a social phenomenon that is currently happening, especially among teenagers. Sexting activity is a method of interaction through social networks in adolescents that is being reconstructed and redefined through communication technology. The vulnerability of teenagers to sexting on social media cannot be denied. A sexting case recently occurred in Bangka 2019, namely a threat to young women from Pangkalpinang who were forced to do topless chests while making video calls on whatsapp social media. Based on a review of previous studies examining the phenomenon of sexting, the findings of these studies have shown a tendency for teenagers in the world to consider sexting a "normal" activity. Therefore, it is necessary to understand how teenagers perceptions on sexting. So that various educational efforts to overcome the negative impact of internet use related to pornography in Indonesia can be maximally and accurately targeted.

Abstract

: The main focus of this research on personal branding of Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka through his instagram account, the reason for analyzing Gibran's instagram account is because he is a public official who was recently elected as mayor of Solo and his figure is often a conversation because it is the son of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. However, research will be directed about the personal branding of the mayor of Solo since he ran for Mayor of Solo until he was appointed as Mayor of Solo and how he created a great personal branding. The research method used is Qualitative Content Analsis. The results showed that Gibran Rakabuming is identical to Jokowi's figure as in blusukan activities, gestures, word selection and other attributes, but he presents himself to look different from the father of President Jokowi such as blusukan style with a bicycle named mider praja and has a focus of work programs such as in this pandemic era, he focused on the work program that became the tagline "KEBUT VAKSINASI KEBUT PEMULIHAN EKONOMI" Keywords: Content Analysis, Instagram, Personal Branding, Public Officials

Abstract

The existence of language in society helped us minimize misunderstanding on the interpretation of meaning as humans. The different style of language makes human understand the meaning in different ways. A multimodal anlaysis described the language from various viewpoints because the relations in multimodal aspects symmetrically form a meaning. This study showed the social problem that occurs in society is called catcalling. Catcalling is a form of sexual harassment described as giving verbal or nonverbal sexual attention by strangers on the street or in public places. This study analyzed catcalling on social experiment video in YouTube Channel by Rob Bliss using multimodal analysis. This study focused on how the semiotic systems interpret the catcalling meaning in the social experiment video and explain how catcalling is considered as sexual harassment in multimodal viewpoints. This study used descriptive quantitative as a research method. The data will be processed through ELAN (EUDICO Linguistic Annotator) Version 5.9. This study found the verbal and nonverbal language in the social experiment video. Meanwhile, multimodal analysis by Michele Anstey and Geoff Bull demonstrated three semiotic systems contained in the social experiment video: 1) Linguistic, 2) Visual, and 3) Gestural. The theory explains that multimodal can be used as an analysis media focused on text, images, and video analysis. This study tries to provide an explanation for the understanding of meaning extensively with the existence of more than one semiotic system found in the social experiment video. Following this study, catcalling can be seen from various existing viewpoints, not only by women but also by men as the perpetrators of catcalling.

Abstract

This study analyzed entailment of the main character’s sentences in Murder on The Orient Express movie in the semantics field. The purpose of this study is to explain the truth in the sentence uttered by the main character in the movie and to prove the truth value from the interlocutor’s response in the sentence. This study focused on explaining the truth of Poirot’s sentences and proving the truth value from the interlocutor’s response. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and a propositional logic approach. This study found 16 data of entailment. The data were analyzed using the theory of entailment from Fasold and Saeed, and theory of logic from Goranko and Hurley. The entailment sentences are entered into the truth table which explains the truth value of the sentence accompanied by logical explanations which are divided into deductive and inductive arguments. The truth value of the entailment sentence can be seen through the response of the main character's interlocutors.

Abstract

This study discusses The Metaphorical Translation’s Analysis in Soundtracks Lyrics "The Disney Aladdin 2019 Movie". The purpose of this study is that to discover the types of metaphors and the strategies that are translators used in translating the metaphors. The metaphors found are classified based on Newmark theory, and the strategies used when translating metaphors from source Language to Target languages are classified using Larson theory. The data is collected by finding the metaphorical expressions in the lyrics of the soundtrack the Disney Aladdin 2019 Movie from English to Indonesian. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods. The results show that there are 5 of 6 types of metaphor found and the most used strategy is the metaphor can be kept if the receptor language permits

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the psychological condition of the main character, Gregor Samsa in Metamorphosis, written by Franz Kafka as existentialist in 1912. The psychological conditions that shape the main character's personality in the form of anxiety, confusion, and sadness can line with the author's motivation as seen from his biography and the author's existentialist condition as outlined in this literary work. This study analyzes Gregor Samsa’s personality using the Psychoanalysis theory of Id, Ego and Superego from Sigmund Freud, then linked the relationship between the main character's personality character and Franz Kafka's life experience as an author through the psychology of literature. This study uses a qualitative method of narrative analysis that represents narration and dialogue as the research object. The analysis contents are as follows; (1) Gregor Samsa's personality condition mapped through his Id, Ego and Superego. (2) Gregor Samsa's personality which is related to the life of Franz Kafka's personality as an author and gives rise to a new genre of Franz Kafka, namely Kafkaesque (3) Proving the conclusion through the collected data, the psychological conditions experienced by Gregor Samsa are a reflection of Franz Kafka's life as an author thus creating a new genre of literary work called Kafkaesque. Keywords: Gregor Samsa, Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka, Psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud, Psychology of Literature, Existentialism, Kafkaesque Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisa kondisi psikologis dari karakter utama yaitu Gregor Samsa dalam Metamorphosis yang ditulis oleh seorang eksistensialis yaitu Franz Kafka pada tahun 1912. Kondisi psikologis tersebut membentuk kepribadian karakter utama berupa kecemasan, kegalauan, dan kesedihan ternyata bisa sejalan dengan motivasi pengarang yang dilihat dari biography nya dan kondisi eksistensialis pengarang yang dituangkan didalam karya sastra ini. Di dalam cerita tersebut, penelitian ini menganalisa kepribadian karakter utama yaitu Gregor Samsa sebagai objek penelitian menggunakan teori kepribadian Id, Ego dan Superego dari Sigmund Freud kemudian mengaitkan relasi antara kepribadiaan karakter utama dengan pengalaman kehidupan Franz Kafka sebagai pengarang melalui psikologi sastra tentang psikologi pengarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif analisis naratif yang merepresentasikan informasi dalam bentuk narasi dan dialog sebagai objek dari penelitian. Adapun isi dari analisis, sebagai berikut; (1) Kondisi kepribadian Gregor Samsa yang mengalami kegalauan, kecemasan, kesedihan dengan kehidupannya yang dipetakan melalui dialog dan monolog (2) Kepribadian Gregor Samsa yang dijelaskan dalam aliran karya sastra Kafka disebut sebagai Kafkaesque (3) Membuktikan pada kesimpulan melalui data yang telah dikumpulkan bahwa kondisi psikologis yang dialami oleh Gregor Samsa merupakan cerminan dari kehidupan Franz Kafka sebagai pengarang. Sebagai seorang pengarang, karya sastra Franz Kafka merepresentasikan konteks social pada era itu bahkan masih relevan sampai sekarang dalam tema-tema eksistensial seperti itu.
