Abstract

The pharmacy serves as a crucial component within hospital medical support infrastructure. Nonetheless, several challenges persist that impact patient satisfaction, including inefficient room layouts, insufficient drug inventories, and suboptimal service times. This study aims to identify key sources of waste and their underlying causes in the outpatient service process at Dr. Hafiz Hospital Pharmacy. Applying both qualitative and quantitative case study methods, the research includes observation of service workflows, distribution of value and waste questionnaires, and interviews. Value stream mapping of the prescription dispensing process revealed a lead time of 24.89 minutes with a Value Added Ratio (VAR) of 63% for general patients, 18.45 minutes and VAR of 67% for BPJS patients, and 14.72 minutes and VAR of 51% for non-dispensing prescriptions among general patients; BPJS non-dispensing prescriptions showed a lead time of 11.61 minutes and VAR of 56%. Transportation waste was identified as the most significant, accounting for 20.2% of total waste. Root causes included distant room layouts, unavailable prescribed medications, and discrepancies between doctors' requests and pharmacy stock.

Abstract

Ragunan Wildlife Park (Taman Margasatwa Ragunan/TMR) is one of the largest zoological parks in Indonesia and is managed by the DKI Jakarta provincial government. As a conservation and public tourism facility, TMR faces significant occupational safety risks, particularly for personnel who interact directly with wildlife and hazardous operational environments. Several recorded incidents indicate that existing safety procedures may not yet fully mitigate potential workplace hazards. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of occupational safety risk management at TMR based on the principles of ISO 31000:2018 and to propose recommendations for improving the current safety management system. This research employs a qualitative case study approach involving semi-structured interviews with zoo personnel, direct field observations, and analysis of organizational documents related to safety management practices. The collected data were analyzed using the ISO 31000 risk management framework, which includes risk identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation, and risk treatment. The findings indicate that TMR personnel face several occupational risks, including wild animal attacks, injuries from work equipment, zoonotic disease exposure, and fire hazards. The application of ISO 31000 contributes to improving risk management practices through enhanced staff training, appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and periodic risk evaluations. However, challenges remain in areas such as internal communication, supervision, and emergency preparedness. This study demonstrates that the ISO 31000 framework provides a systematic approach for managing occupational safety risks in zoological institutions. The results offer practical recommendations to strengthen workplace safety management and support the sustainable operation of conservation and public service activities at Ragunan Wildlife Park.

Abstract

Hospitals operate in increasingly complex healthcare systems where improving clinical service performance has become a strategic priority. Engineering hospital management policies has emerged as an important approach to enhance governance, optimize service processes, and strengthen patient-centered care. However, the effectiveness of policy innovation often depends on how well it is implemented across organizational units. This study examines the role of inter-unit coordination as a mediating mechanism linking hospital management policy innovation to clinical service performance. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review of recent studies on healthcare management, service quality, and organizational coordination in hospitals. Relevant scholarly sources were systematically analyzed to synthesize conceptual relationships among the research variables. The findings indicate that engineering hospital management policies—such as digital health information systems, clinical governance frameworks, and patient safety initiatives—positively influence clinical service performance. Nevertheless, the impact of these policies becomes significantly stronger when supported by effective inter-unit coordination. Cross-departmental coordination facilitates communication, integrates service workflows, and ensures consistent implementation of clinical procedures. The study concludes that inter-unit coordination acts as a crucial mediator that translates policy innovation into improved clinical performance. Therefore, hospitals should prioritize integrated coordination systems alongside policy innovation to achieve sustainable improvements in service quality and patient safety.

Abstract

The growing emphasis on corporate sustainability has transformed how organizations disclose their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Traditional financial reporting is increasingly considered insufficient to capture the broader impact of corporate activities on society and the environment. Consequently, sustainability reporting (SR) and ESG ratings have emerged as important mechanisms for evaluating corporate sustainability and guiding strategic decision-making. However, existing studies often examine sustainability reporting and ESG performance separately, leaving limited understanding of how their integration influences organizational outcomes. This study aims to analyze the integration of sustainability reporting and ESG ratings and its impact on operational performance and corporate reputation. A qualitative case study approach was employed focusing on PT Petrokimia Gresik, a major fertilizer and chemical company in Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and secondary corporate reports. The findings indicate that the integration of SR and ESG practices improves operational efficiency, strengthens environmental compliance, and enhances corporate reputation through increased stakeholder trust. The study highlights that embedding ESG indicators into internal performance targets plays a key role in strengthening sustainability governance and long-term corporate competitiveness.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of self-service circulation services at the UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan Library as a response to the demands of university library services that increasingly emphasize efficiency, responsiveness, and the use of technology. This study begins with the need to understand not only how self-service circulation services are implemented, but also how their effectiveness is interpreted by users and librarians, what factors support and hinder their performance, and strategic recommendations needed to strengthen services in the future. The study aims to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of a self-service circulation system through a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews with librarians and users, and documentation of circulation service procedures. The results show that circulation services are implemented in the form of a hybrid service model that integrates the OPAC, self-lending kiosks, bookdrop facilities, and librarian support. Service effectiveness is shaped by three main determinants: clarity of service procedures, functional technology infrastructure, and readiness of service actors. These three factors can function as both supporters and obstacles. This study confirms that the effectiveness of self-circulation services needs to be understood as a result of the interaction between user convenience, operational regularity, and institutional control.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), has transformed contemporary learning systems and raised new questions about how educational institutions should manage technology-enabled academic performance. Although recent studies report positive effects of AI-supported learning on academic achievement, the evidence remains conditional, suggesting that performance improvement depends not only on access to AI tools but also on students’ AI literacy, digital literacy, self-regulated learning, cognitive load, and learning-environment support. This study aims to synthesize recent empirical and review-based evidence on the mechanisms through which AI-related factors influence students’ academic performance and to propose an integrated performance-oriented framework for educational organizations. A systematic literature review was conducted on peer-reviewed studies published between 2021 and 2026, focusing on AI in education, GenAI, AI literacy, digital literacy, self-regulated learning, cognitive load, learning environment, and academic achievement. The synthesis identifies several interrelated findings. First, AI-supported learning can improve academic achievement when AI functions as instructional and cognitive support rather than as a substitute for students’ reasoning. Second, AI literacy and digital literacy shape students’ capacity to evaluate, interpret, verify, and use AI-generated information appropriately. Third, self-regulated learning serves as a key mechanism linking AI use with academic performance because students must plan goals, monitor understanding, regulate strategies, and verify AI outputs during learning. Fourth, cognitive load operates as a critical boundary condition because AI may reduce unnecessary mental effort but may also increase cognitive burden when information is excessive, unreliable, or poorly structured. The review also identifies important research gaps, particularly the limited integration of AI literacy, digital literacy, self-regulated learning, cognitive load, and learning-environment support within a unified educational performance model, as well as the need for stronger empirical evidence in secondary-school contexts. Based on these findings, the review proposes an integrated framework in which AI literacy, AI-supported learning, digital literacy, self-regulated learning, cognitive load, and learning-environment support interact to influence academic achievement. The findings suggest that educational institutions should manage AI adoption through measurable learning-performance indicators rather than technology-adoption metrics alone.
