Abstract

Digital transformation has accelerated the development of the Islamic economy through innovations such as Islamic fintech, halal e-commerce, and the digitalization of zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (ZISWAF). However, these developments have also given rise to challenges, including unclear digital contracts. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Maqasid Shariah in digital business and to formulate a conceptual model of a digital business ecosystem oriented toward public welfare (maslahah). The study employs a qualitative approach by examining academic literature, DSN-MUI fatwas, statutory regulations, and official documents. Data were analyzed using content analysis, conceptual analysis, and synthesis. The findings indicate that Maqasid Shariah serves as a strategic foundation for developing a digital business ecosystem that ensures Sharia compliance, protection of rights, transparency, economic justice, and sustainability. Furthermore, this study proposes a conceptual model of a Maqasid Shariah based digital business ecosystem built upon four main pillars: Sharia compliance, protection and transparency, inclusion and economic justice, and sustainability to promote public welfare within the digital Islamic economy. Keywords: Digital Business, Maqashid Shariah

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the murabahah contract in Islamic Home Ownership Financing (Kredit Pemilikan Rumah Syariah/KPR Syariah) at Bank Muamalat. This study employed a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the murabahah contract in KPR at Bank Muamalat KCP Genteng is carried out through several stages, namely financing application by customers, feasibility analysis, financing approval, purchase or acquisition of the house by the bank, and the execution of the murobahah contract, which includes the cost price, profit margin, financing period, and instalment amount agreed upon by both parties. The contract implementation is conducted transparently and in accordance with the procedures applicable in Islamic banking. Implementation of the murabahah contract in Islamic Home Ownership Financing at Bank Muamalat KCP Genteng is in accordance with Sharia principles. This is evidenced by the fulfillment of the pillars and conditions of the murabahah contract, transparency regarding the cost price and profit margin, and the absence of elements of riba, gharar, maisir, and tadlis in its implementation. Abstract

The development of financial technology (fintech) has brought significant transformation to the banking industry, including Islamic banks. This study aims to analyze the role and impact of fintech on the operations of Islamic banks in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with literature study, this research examines various aspects of fintech adoption in Islamic bank operations. The results show that fintech plays an important role in improving the operational efficiency of Islamic banks through process automation, service digitalization, and risk management optimization. The positive impact of fintech adoption is reflected in the improvement of financial ratios such as Return on Assets (ROA), expansion of access to Islamic financial services, and increased customer satisfaction. However, fintech implementation in Islamic banks faces significant challenges, including compliance with sharia principles, limited digital infrastructure, human resource gaps, and regulatory frameworks that have not fully supported. This study recommends strengthening collaboration among stakeholders, improving digital literacy, and developing adaptive regulations to create a sustainable sharia fintech ecosystem

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of contracts in the Shopee PayLater feature from the perspective of fiqh muamalah, and to identify its compliance with Islamic sharia principles, particularly regarding the qardh contract and the prohibition of riba. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research type and a normative-juridical approach. Primary data sources include the Qur'an, Hadith, fiqh muamalah books, as well as DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 19/DSN-MUI/IV/2001 concerning Al-Qardh. The results show that the contract used in Shopee PayLater tends to be a qardh contract, but is accompanied by additional conditions in the form of installment interest that benefits the service provider, thus deviating from the provisions of a valid qardh contract. The installment interest determined at the beginning of the contract falls into the category of riba qardh, while the 5% late fee falls into the category of riba jahiliyah that does not comply with the provisions of the DSN-MUI Fatwa. Structurally, Shopee PayLater is not fully in accordance with the principles of fiqh muamalah because it contains elements of riba, does not fulfill the principle of justice, and lacks transparency in cost details. Exceptions apply to users who choose the full payment 1-month tenor and settle their obligations on time because no additional costs are charged.  Keywords: Shopee PayLater, Fiqh Muamalah, Qardh Contract

Abstract

In recent years, the issue of sustainability has become a major concern worldwide. The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) concept serves as a foundation for sustainable business. However, this concept does not encompass moral and spiritual dimensions. Therefore, Islamic business ethics serves to complement and strengthen the pursuit of more comprehensive business sustainability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of TBL and Islamic business ethics, as well as their integration in supporting business sustainability at CV. Artha Boga Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a case study method. The results show that CV. Artha Boga Indonesia has implemented the people, planet, and profit aspects, although their implementation is not yet optimal, particularly in solid waste segregation and the use of single-use plastics. The principles of Islamic business ethics, including tawhid, justice, free will, and responsibility, have also been implemented, although more consistent supervision is still required. The integration of TBL and Islamic business ethics forms a stronger sustainability model encompassing a just economy, a society oriented toward maslahah, the environment as an amanah (trust), and halal and blessed profits.  Keywords: Triple Bottom Line, Islamic Business Ethic, Business Sustainability

Abstract

Introduction: The advancement of digital financial technology has made Islamic fintech an increasingly relevant financial service option for Muslim communities, particularly MSMEs and groups with limited access to formal financial institutions. Nevertheless, digital convenience does not necessarily guarantee fairness, security, transparency, or user welfare. Objective: This study aims to explore how communities experience and interpret Islamic fintech and to examine the role of Maq??id al-Shar??ah in promoting financial inclusion and sustainable economic development. Method: A qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design was employed. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, while the collected data were examined through reflexive thematic analysis guided by the Maq??id al-Shar??ah perspective. Results: The analysis identified four major themes: accessibility of financial services, trust and transparency, user literacy and protection, and economic benefits and sustainability. The findings indicate that the availability of digital financial access does not necessarily lead to substantive financial inclusion. User experiences are also shaped by digital literacy, understanding of contracts, service security, information transparency, and infrastructure availability. Conclusion: Islamic fintech should therefore be assessed not merely in terms of Sharia compliance, but also through its Maq??id-based impact, particularly its ability to provide asset protection, fairness, accessibility, and tangible benefits for users. Strengthening financial literacy, transparency, user protection, and equitable access is essential to enhance the contribution of Islamic fintech to economic empowerment and sustainable development.

Abstract

The development of financial technology is driving the increased use of paylater services among students. This phenomenon needs to be studied by considering sharia financial literacy and understanding of usury as aspects related to financial decision-making. This study aims to analyze the influence of sharia financial literacy and understanding of usury on students' interest in using paylater services. This study uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative research type. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents who met the research criteria and analyzed using statistical techniques to test the formulated hypotheses. Analysis was conducted to identify the influence of sharia financial literacy and understanding of usury, both partially and simultaneously, on students' interest in using paylater services. The research results show that Sharia Financial Literacy does not affect Students' Interest in Using Paylater Services, and Understanding of Riba does not affect Students' Interest in Using Paylater Services. However, simultaneously, Sharia Financial Literacy and Understanding of Riba affect Students' Interest in Using Paylater Services.
