Abstract

The objective  of the research  is to investigate  the effect of the Acasia mangium  L leaves rubbish  compost  on the growth and production  of peanut.The  peanut    used    is gajah  variety.  The Acasia  mangium   L leaves rubbish  compost   was  used  for  the  treatment   materials     given  since   the seedling  time.  The  compost   was  mixed  with  the  soil    used  for  planting media.  This  research   applied  the  Completely   Randomized   Design  (CRD). The independent  variables  consisted  of six levels i.e 0,10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 grams compost  per  polibag,  each five replications.  The dependent  variables are height, fresh weight,  dry weight  at the end of the vegetative  growth,  and the sum of the  fruit  is counted  after  harvest.  The data  were analyzed  using the analysis of variants  (anova),The  result  of  the  research   indicates  that  after    receiving  treatment,the height, fresh weight,  and dry weight  of peanut,  on 30, 40, and 50 grams proportion  of the  compost  weight  are  significant  (p<0.05).  The  sum  of the ghost on 40 and 50 grams proportion  of compost  weight,  shows a significant result (p<0.05).  The combination   of the height, fresh weight, and dry weight parameters     on  30,  40,  and  50  grams  compost   weight,   shows   value   of growth better than with other treatments.Key words: composting, growth, and production

Abstract

Gerabah  atau  keramik   dalam  wujud  genteng  merupakan   salah  satu kebutuhan  pokok  rumah  tangga  yang tak terhindarkan.    Oleh karen a itu, tak mengherankan  jika  masyarakat   (dalam  hal ini pengrajin  genteng)  telah  lama mengenal    cara-cara    memproduksi     genteng    lempung    secara   tradisional termasuk  memilih  bahan  bakunya  untuk  memperoleh   hasil  dengan  kualitas yang baik.   Seiring  dengan  kemajuan  teknologi,  pengrajin  genteng  lempung mengalami    tekanan    persaingan     yang   cukup   berat   dengan    munculnya produksi    genteng    "nonlempung",     yakni    terutama    asbes    dan   genteng "semen".Kedua  gent eng jenis   nonlempung   tersebut  dapat  diproduksi   secara besar-besaran   dengan  mesin  cetak  yang  lebih  canggih  dalam  waktu  yang jauh  lebih  singkat  ketimbang   produksi   genteng  lempung.  Tambahan   pula industri   genteng   nonlempung    ini   mampu   menyuguhkan    berbagai   jenis ukuran genteng  dengan  presisi  dan homogenitas  yang relatif  lebih baik  serta hasil   yang   jauh    lebih   kuat.      Oleh   karena    itu,   kedua   jenis    genteng nonlempung   ini  mampu   memenuhi   tuntutan   kebutuhan   masarakat   dalam waktu cepat seiring dengan  naiknya  kebutuhan  pembangunan  fisikoNamun    demikian,     kelemahan     yang    mencolok     pada    gentengnonlempung   ini  adalah   dampaknya   terhadap   lingkungan   yakni  kesehatan (kanker) khususnya  untuk  asbes  sehingga  dewasa  ini tekanan  persaingannya menjadi jauh  berkurang.    Jenis  genteng  semen  memberikan   dampak  panas yang lebih tinggi  terhadap   lingkungan.  Dengan  demikian,  sesungguhnyalah genteng   lempung   mampu   menawarkan    kenyamanan    yang   lebih   karena kemampuannya  yang  lebih  baik dalam  menyerap  panas,  dan oleh karena  itu tetap memiliki  masa depan yang menjanjikan.

Abstract

The  aim  of  the  training   Ipteks  program   is to  upgrade  of  cracking painting finishing   skill for carpeter  so that they aschive product  variations  to enhances customer  interest.The  training   is executed   in  Bantul  District,  trainers  are  15 person. The training  is execute  one weeks  continuously,  with the instrucors  from PT Propan  Raya  Yogyakarta   and  FT  Yogyakarta   State  University.   Activity method  are  impel  of  working   and  producing  with  material:  (l)    finishing teory,  (2)  demonstration,    (3)  apppiication   of finishing   marble  and  granite nuanced at training  place,  and (5) application  of finishing   on their shops.The  result  are:  (1)  The  trainers  mastery  in  theory  and  practice   of finishing  marble  and granite,  (2)  There are able to material   for on their own production,  (3)   tere  able  to apply   for on their  own production,  and  (4) so that they can make product  variations  that sell in their own show rooms.Key words: marble, granite.furniture,   small-middle industry

Abstract

In  the  framework   of  realization   of  Tri  Darma   Perguruan   Tinggi program,    Technique    Faculty    of   Yogyakarta    State   University    (YSU) contributes  idea  for  Tsunami   disaster  victims  in Aceh  and North  Sumatra that  was   happened    on   26th   December    2004.   The   contribution    of   the Technique   Faculty   of  Yogyakarta    State  University   (YSU)   for  Tsunami disaster  in  Aceh  and  North   Sumatra   is  given  in  the  form  of  a  Planning Concept of Housing  and Open Schools.The  planning   for  Houses  and  opens  Schools  for  Tsunami   disastervictims  in Aceh  and North  Sumatra  is consideres  with  many  aspects,  i.e.  : (1) Functional  aspect,  (2) Social  culture  aspect,  (3) Construction   aspect  (in relation   with   nature   condition    and   disaster),   (4)  Technical   aspect,   (5) Economical  aspect,  and (6) Field implementation   aspect.The result  of the planning  for Housing  and Open Schools  is suitablewith  geographical   condition   in  Aceh  and  its  emergency   condition   that  is happening  there,  and North  Sumatra  after Tsunami  are as follows:  (a) In the form of house  on stilts,  (b)  'Knock   Down'   construction   system,  (c) Using local wood, and (d) House  construction  that can put up with earthquake.Key words: Housing  and Open Schools, After  Tsunami
