Jurnal Keteknikan Pertanian dengan No. ISSN 2338-8439, pada awalnya bernama Buletin Keteknikan Pertanian, merupakan publikasi resmi Perhimpunan Teknik Pertanian Indonesia (PERTETA) bekerjasama dengan Departemen Teknik Mesin dan Biosistem (TMB) IPB yang terbit pertama kali pada tahun 1984, berkiprah dalam pengembangan ilmu keteknikan untuk pertanian tropika dan lingkungan hayati. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali setahun. Penulis makalah tidak dibatasi pada anggota PERTETA tetapi terbuka bagi masyarakat umum. Lingkup makalah, antara lain: teknik sumberdaya lahan dan air, alat dan mesin budidaya, lingkungan dan bangunan, energi alternatif dan elektrifikasi, ergonomika dan elektronika, teknik pengolahan pangan dan hasil pertanian, manajemen dan sistem informasi. Makalah dikelompokkan dalam invited paper yang menyajikan isu aktual nasional dan internasional, review perkembangan penelitian, atau penerpan ilmu dan teknologi, technical paper hasil penelitian, penerapan, atau diseminasi, serta research methodology berkaitan pengembangan modul, metode, prosedur, program aplikasi, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The concept of exergy is defined as the maximum theoretical work that would be delivered by a system as it comes into equilibrium with the environment. This method is used to analyze the freezing process. Objective of the research is study of effect medium temperature toward exergy efficiency and freezing rate.The research indicated that lower medium temperature of freezer resulted in a higher freezing rate but with lower exergy officiency. In case of sliced beef meat, freezing rate of 3 cm/h can be obtained with temperature stage of Tma = -3 oC, Tmf = -15 and Tmb = -21 oC, with exergy efficiency 58 %.Diterima: 12 Januari 2007, Disetujui: 20 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT Performance test of Imbert Downdraft Gesifier by using cyclone as an auxiliary for tar filtering has been conducted with three kinds of feeding chips, i. e; borneo wood, tamarind wood and leucena wood. The research has been developed to support as an energy source for combined heat power generation. Gesifier will be coupled to diesel generating set and waste heat from the exhaust gas will be used as energy source for an adsorption type refrigeration system. The test had produced the best combustible gas with the chemical composition CO = 55,59 %, CH4 = 0,14 %, C2H6 = 0,3 % and C3H8= 0, 08 %. The maximum temperature 1142 oC has been found in oxidation zone based on the leucena wood test, meanwhile the calculation result of energy availability for the combustible gas was 60,39 kW and specific energy availability was 0,082 kg/kWh. The test result of temperature distribution along the reactor compare to numerical solution of mathemathicai modelling has got the similar curve. Diterima: 26 Pebruari 2007, Disetujui: 25 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT The making of La0,8Ca0,2MnO3  cathode material of solid oxide fuel cell from lanthanum oxide (La2O3), calcium oxide (CaO), and manganese carbonate hydrate (MnCO3.H2O) has been done using tape casting method. Time of firing the La0,8Ca0,2MnO3  varied. The values of t = 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 120 minutes. Microstructure of these materials was analyzed and characterized by means of their electric conductivity, XRD (x ray diffraction) and SEM (scanning electron microscope). It is found that formulated micro structure is orthorhombic. The result of measurement shows that density is in linear (positive) correlation with increasing of holding time of firing, porosity and coefficient of thermal expansion is negatively correlated with density and electric conductivity is in linear (positive) correlation with increase density. Diterima: 26 Pebruari 2007, Disetujui: 13 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was aimed to get ergonomic factors which influence working productivity and workload of operators in primary tillage operation according to specific land condition, environmental condition and local culture in South Kalimantan area. Artificial neural network models (ann) was used to formulate the non linear relationship among ergonomic factors of hand tractors. The ergonomic factors were anthropometry (height and width of hand tractor steer, age and weight of operators). The field measurment to determine working productivity of primery tillage used moldboard plow as hand tractors implement. Results of ann showed that working productivity in a range of 453 m2/h and 1284 m2/h and workload in a range of 106 p/m and 169 p/m. The younger operator have the best productivity. The model have accuracy of 89% for output model of working productivity and 96% for output model of workload in soil tillage. The Optimum result for height of steer in a range of 104 cm and 112 cm.Diterima: 2 Mei 2007, Disetujui: 17 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted to design a controlled fish hatchery system. This research dealt win 1) Designs of water recirculation and filtration system, 2) Water level control system, and 3) Tests of recirculation end filtration system for fish hatchery. Recirculation system was built in an insulated room with dimension of 6 x 4 x 3 m, used six aquariums, a sedimentation tank, a filtration unit, a water supply tank, a submersible pump and pipe with 1.25 cm in diameter. Multilayer horizontal filtration unit was used. The system consisted of mechanical filter layer, biological filter layer, and chemical filter layer. On-off controller was designed to control the pump. Pressure sensor model HTVN-100KP was used to detect the water level. The water level controller could control filtration process successfully. This water recirculation system was appropriated for practical uses. This system could decrease water use and saved energy considerably. Diterima: 16 Mei 2007, Disetujui: 18 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of this paper is to analyze measurement error of heat conductivity of organic solid waste (paddy chaf). Error analyze is to obtain accuration of the measured result. Visual Basic Applications (VBA) on excel was used in simulation. The result showed that heat conductivity of paddy chaf is 0,501 W/mK with error 0,00936 W/mK. ABSTRACT The advantages of exergy analysis are: (1) it can be used in energy analysis generally with scientific validity. (2) using the equal scale for every form of energy and matters, and (3) possible for direct allocation. These advantages can be utilized in analyzing various agrioutural activities, in its position as energy consumer as well as energy producer. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Public demand on fresh horticultural products is fairly high, and the data showed for the past few years, the domestic and overseas demands for fresh (topical fruits have a tandency to incrase. Fresh horticultural are perishable ptoduces with limited of shelf life. Consequently, the continuity of fruit supply could be distrubed in terms of time, quantity, and quality. On the order hand, the moden market need the perpect delivery and want the fruits in the consumer hands in fresh, uniformly ripened, and ready to consume conditions. Biological products still carry out metabolic activity like respiration even after harvest, Most of the postharvest physico-chemical canges of frutis are related to respiration, such as maturity process, developmentof  aroma and sweetness, softening of fruit meat, quality degradiation, etc. Thus, controlling the respiration process could be done for maintaining the  qualityof fruits during post-hervest handling. Over the past years, the mathematical model for predicting and thus controlling respiration characteristics were already developed by many researchers. An application of the results of those research were also commercially used such as for Cold Storage, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), Artifical Ripening (AR) and Controlled Atmosphere Storage (CAS). ABSTRACTThis research proposed to asses seepage flow pattern at TPA Geluga. Hydrogeology isophreatic contour could be used to asses seepeqe flow pottern. Mapping was based on weter table  elevation measurements In the areas. Isophreatic contour was made by inter polating several points measurements. Seepage flow pattern could be defined from isophreatic map. From isophreatic map there were 2 flow patterns at TPA Galuga: seepage flow pattern to North and sinked seepage flow pattern caused by it. Abstract

ABSTRACT Freeze drying is the best among the drying methods, especially for high value products. This is due to some reason: minimize tile degradative reaction such as non enzymatic browning, protein denaturizing and enzymatic reaction, little loss of flavor and aroma and high re-absorptivity of solvent. However due to slow drying rate, the drying time is longer and energy consumption is higher, that make freeze drying process expensive. To overcome the problems, drying was proposed to operate by application of vacuum freezing and back heating beside the use of radiation from the upper surface of product. The objective of this research was to prove that freeze drying with vacuum freezing and back heating (PBPVpb) consume less energy than freeze drying with contact plate freezing (PBLS). The research was started by designing and manufacturing a PBPVpb before operating and analyzing it. This research found out that the energy consumption of PBP\/pb was 90.6% of PBLS although the drying time of PBPVpb WaS 29% longer than that of PBLS. The drying rate of PBPVpb was 5 g/h whereas PBLS was 5.6 g/h. Keyword: freeze drying, vacuum freezing, baok heating Diterima: 26 Juni 2007; Disetujui: 19 Agustus 2007
