Jurnal Keteknikan Pertanian dengan No. ISSN 2338-8439, pada awalnya bernama Buletin Keteknikan Pertanian, merupakan publikasi resmi Perhimpunan Teknik Pertanian Indonesia (PERTETA) bekerjasama dengan Departemen Teknik Mesin dan Biosistem (TMB) IPB yang terbit pertama kali pada tahun 1984, berkiprah dalam pengembangan ilmu keteknikan untuk pertanian tropika dan lingkungan hayati. Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali setahun. Penulis makalah tidak dibatasi pada anggota PERTETA tetapi terbuka bagi masyarakat umum. Lingkup makalah, antara lain: teknik sumberdaya lahan dan air, alat dan mesin budidaya, lingkungan dan bangunan, energi alternatif dan elektrifikasi, ergonomika dan elektronika, teknik pengolahan pangan dan hasil pertanian, manajemen dan sistem informasi. Makalah dikelompokkan dalam invited paper yang menyajikan isu aktual nasional dan internasional, review perkembangan penelitian, atau penerpan ilmu dan teknologi, technical paper hasil penelitian, penerapan, atau diseminasi, serta research methodology berkaitan pengembangan modul, metode, prosedur, program aplikasi, dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT During the daytime in tropical region, air temperature inside the greenhouse higher than the outside air temperature. The prediction of air ternpereture inside the greenhouse can be done by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model. The neural network model consist of three layers, there are input layer, hidden layer and output layer. The input layer consist of eight nodes, there are wind velocity, air humidity, air pressure, outside air temperature, daily rainfall, solar radiation, roof temperature and floor temperature. The output layer is inside air temperature of the greenhouse. The ANN models were developed with different proportion of training and validation data. Validation of the model had been done by using standard error prediction, bias and Coefficient of Variation. It had been shown that the ANN model could explain the complicated relationship among greenhouse parameter, effectively. Diterima: 27 Pebruari 2007; Disetujui: 9 Maret 2007.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Cutting of sugar cane stubble is one of important activities in sugar cane agriculture system. Problems on labor and low quality of cutting have not been solved by manual cutting system. In addition, a kind of farm machinery, which work in rotating ways did not give a good result in doing the cutting of sugar cane stubble. Due to low quality of cutting and broken sugar cane stubble, it is not used any more. The problem of broken sugar cane stubble in mechanical cutting system should be solved by changing the system of cutting mechanism, prefering impact cutting to chips forming. The goal of the study is to analyze the mechanism of cutting on sugar cane stubble by using rotating disk plow and to develop a mathematical model in order to determine cutting force of sugar cane stubble. Method of analyzing on movement of node on edge is used to discribe a curve of edge movement. A mathematical model of cutting force was developed base on instant cutting area which was calculated using Simpson method, numerical integration system. Equations resulted from this study can be applied to simulate the movement of edge using input parameters, mainly: tilt angle, disk angle, angular velocity,linier velocity. Variety of PA 198 has the higher specific cutting resistance per area of cutting than the other varieties. The mathematical model developed can be used to determine the cutting force with a good result. Diterima: 12 Desember 2006, Disetujui: 12 Maret 2001

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed to study the energy potential of quicklime stone chemoreaction for the application to drying process of red chilli seeds. The experiment demonstrated that chemoreaction energy released from wafer reaction with CaO containing lime stone could be used for drying process of chilli seeds at ambient temperature to a very low moisture, varying of 2.5 - 3.7 % wb. The chemoreaction energy released from reaction between lime stone and plane water was 1.06 kJ/g lime stone. At excessive water condition partcle sizes of lime stone did not affect chemoresctton energy. but smstter size psttictes enhanced tile energy release from the reaction. Using three particle sizes of lime stone the energy efficiency for drying of red chilli seeds ranged 54.0 - 64.0 % and for plane water evaporation ranged 57.4 – 71.6 %. The energy effectiveness for chilli seeds drying was 4.7 kJ/g water and for plane water evaporation was 4.1 kJ/g, implying the presence of bound water in the chilli seeds. Diterima: 1 Juni 2006; Disetujui: 21 Maret 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT Greenhouse cooling with fogging system is important to be studied in improving design of greenhouses. The process is not about cooling the air only but also humidifying. This study aims at evaluating the variables that contribute on error in air flow rate calculation. Furthermore, effects of enthalpy reading from the psychrometric chart on air flow rate calculation has been studied also. Herewith, parameters optimization and error analysis of the air flow rate equation were carried out. Data was taken from a multispan greenhouse which had cover material of PE 150 µm, 105.6 m wide and 205 m length, and three channels consists of 82 nozzles. The result indicates that the enthalpy has more prounounce contribution to determine the air flow rate and it follows successively by temperature and sun radiation. Thus, precise reading of the enthalpy is highly necessary to minimize error of the calculation of the air flow rate. This method of analysis is applicable to find appropriate values of enthalpy and other variables to produce optimum air flow rate in greenhouses. Diterima: 1 Juni 2006; Disetujui: 21 Maret 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT Export of Indonesian fruit are constrained by very tight quarantine regulations, because some  produces are host for Tephritidae  fruit flies that are considered a quarantine risk by many importing countries. To be accepted by importing markets, the produces must be treated to ensure that they are free of the fruit flies. Since the prohibition of chemical method for insect disinfestation process (like ethylene dibromide, EDB) in 1984, a new method by means of heat treatment was developed as a quarantine technology This method has been applied in several fruit exporting countries such as: Australia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand. Heat treatment in postharvest handling is a method of heating fruit to kill insects eggs and larvae of fruit flies prior to fresh market shipment without damaging the produces There are many factors influence the heat on postharvest fruit quality such as cultivar,  fruit size, morphological characteristics, stage of ripeness. and treatment method. Abstract

ABSTRACT Post-harvest technology is a general terminology of various process technologies needed to minimize losses of product during the processes after harvest. As a staple food of most of Indonesian people, rice has an important role in Indonesian food security. Although the production becomes close to the national demand, due to the fluctuation of production caused by unstable weather, the problem on rice is still faced from year to year. Especially in the post-harvest area, recently the problem on quantity and quality losses still remains high. Abstract

Abstract From many experiments with different kinds of tiIIage tools it is well known that an oscilating or vibrating movement of a tool can have a considerable influence on the draft required. Subsoiler represent tools of deep tillage, the function of subsoil plough to cutting deep tillage and to breaking hardpan soil. The hardpan soil can hinder drainage, aeration and pursue spreading of the soil nutrition. Therefore in split/cut the hardpan layer require by big enough of energy. This operation requires heavy-duty tractor because of high draft consumption, especially for breaking subsoil up to depth of 50 cm. Vibratory technique is one of the methods, which could be applied in order to reduce draft. On the other hand reduced draft can used by vibration, mechanism of vibration exploitedly with rotation of PTO changed become translation movement. However that vibration can greatly reduce the draft force needed, to pull a blade or tine trough soil, but this can only be achieved at the expense of an increase in the total powor consumed. Diterima: 12 Pebruari 2007, Disetujui:. 3 Mei 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT The evaluation of the irrigation efficiency and coefficient of unttotmity (CU) of the existing aeroponics system has been conducted for one growing season of petsai (Brassica pekinensis L) in Parung - Bogor, Indonesia. The evaluation covers the CU of the spray discharge, pH, temperature and electrical conductivity (EC) of the nutrient solution. It was concluded that the CU of spray discharge, pH and temperature of the nutrient solution were relatively high, but the CU of EC of the nutrient solution was relatively low. Conveyance efficiency and water-use efficiency were about 84.38% and 40.09%, respectively. The average crop water requirement was about 1,457 cc/crop/season or equal to 16,870 cc per Kg of petsai produced. Diterima: 02 Januari 2007, Disetujui: 19 Pebruari 2007

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of the research was to design and test the sorting machine of 'duku' fruit. The sorting machine was able to sort the fruit into three grades by means of principle of inclined plane and exploiting of mechanical vibration. Machine components consist of frame, hopper, sorting rack, part of output, source of power, transmission and vibrator. Uniformity of the sorting results varied, i.e., grade A equal to 100 %, grade B equal to 50.1 % and grade C equal to 80.1 %. The average level of sorting process was 59.5 % with the working capacity of the machine of 500 kg/ hour. Diterima: 21 Januari 2007, Disetujui: 25 April 2007
