Abstract

This paper endeavors to explore the impact of New Media on the dynamics of religious authorities, with a particular focus on Indonesia. Seeking to challenge the prevailing assumption, this research adopts a qualitative method grounded in a comprehensive literature review. Drawing from diverse sources such as journal articles, proceedings, books, and online news, the study poses a pivotal question: how do religious authorities in Indonesia leverage New Media as a conduit for ideological transmission? In contrast to the commonly held belief, the proposed thesis of this article contends that New Media doesn't serve as a catalyst for the transformation of religious authorities in Indonesia. Instead, it functions as a valuable opportunity for the dissemination of religious information. Framed within the media technology perspective articulated by Gill Branston and Roy Stafford (2003), the findings of this research underscore the strategic design of platforms like the Nahdlatul Ulama Online website, the Indonesian Ulema Council Da'wah Application, and Muhammadiyah.or.id to illustrate that New Media serves as a potent tool for Indonesian Islamic authorities in fortifying the organizational identity.

Abstract

Indonesia stands as the world's most populous Muslim nation, holding a crucial position in the realm of Islamic moderation. The richness of diversity, encompassing religion, culture, language, and customs, serves as a potential catalyst for peace when approached with an attitude of mutual respect and appreciation for differences. However, in the absence of tolerance, the specter of intolerance emerges and paves the way for acts of violence. Recognizing this delicate balance, the pivotal role of religious leaders and scholars becomes evident. They play a crucial part in fostering an understanding of religious moderation. This understanding acts as a proactive safeguard, while thwarting the escalation of intolerance and violence. Employing a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, this study focuses on Prof. Dr. K. H. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., and Madrasah Tsanawiyah Istiqlal Jakarta. The data collection involved meticulous observation, thorough documentation, and insightful interviews. The findings underscore the significance of religious leaders in imparting insights on tolerance and the value of harmonious coexistence within religious communities. In the context of MTs Istiqlal Jakarta, the results illuminate the pivotal role of the clergy in nurturing an atmosphere of understanding. This is evident in the MCB program and congregational prayers, where students are actively engaged in learning to appreciate and respect one another, embracing the beauty of diversity. This study underscores the transformative impact of religious education in shaping attitudes and mitigating the seeds of intolerance and violence within society.

Abstract

Digitalization has rapidly permeated various fields in today's era, with marketing being a prominent recipient of its transformative effects. The business landscape has witnessed a pronounced inclination towards ventures that are grounded in digital marketing. It captures the interest of diverse market segments, including both business entities and the general public. This research endeavors to examine the alignment of digital marketing practices with Islamic business ethics. Employing a qualitative research methodology with a descriptive analytical approach, this study gathered the data through a comprehensive review of relevant documentation. The study focuses on digital social marketing technologies employed on social media platforms and marketplaces as primary samples. Findings reveal that the application of digital marketing in the Indonesian context falls short of complete compliance with Sharia principles. Despite this, certain marketing processes do exhibit adherence to aspects of Islamic business ethics. Notably, emphasis within this context tends to be more pronounced in elements related to products and promotional media.

Abstract

The focal point of this study lies in the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economic landscape of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) within the Yogyakarta community, particularly in the Kotagede area. Numerous MSMEs and local trade stalls have become non-operational due to the adverse effects of the pandemic, leading to financial distress and, in some cases, bankruptcy. This article addresses this issue within the context of Islamic economics by drawing insights from its foundational theories and proponents. The aim is to provide inspiration for MSMEs and entrepreneurs in Indonesia. The research employs a literature-based qualitative methodology, utilizing sources from Google Scholar, Scopus, and relevant books on Islamic economics, MSMEs, INOVASI, and Indonesian traders. The data analysis is conducted through a robust content analysis approach. The findings reveal an innovative model within Islamic economics that fosters creativity and initiative among MSMEs, particularly in Kotagede, Yogyakarta. Despite the intermission experienced by many small businesses during the pandemic, the encouragement for innovation from local authorities, including the Minister of Tourism and Culinary, has facilitated their return to business operations. Additionally, the study sheds light on the historical perspectives of Islamic economics by examining the contributions of experts such as Boediyono, Ibnu Khaldun, Abu Hanifa, and Zaid bin Ali. The implications of this research are significant in fortifying the Islamic economic sector, specifically for MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article delves into the significance of the legal effectiveness theory in the context of applying the principle for the well-being of children, specifically within the decisions of marriage dispensations in Religious Courts. The focus is on promoting the welfare of children by means of marriage permits, which are legal policies allowing marriages to take place below the legally stipulated age, subject to certain conditions. Emphasizing the principle of the child's best interests in this scenario is crucial, considering the potential impact on the well-being and development of the children involved. This research is grounded in the theory of legal effectiveness, which underscores the efficient and equitable achievement of legal goals. A qualitative approach is employed, involving interviews with Religious Court judges who handle marriage dispensation cases. The findings reveal that the principle of the child's best interests significantly informs the judges' deliberations. Judges endeavor to ensure that marriage dispensations are granted only when deemed the optimal choice for the child's welfare. This study offers a nuanced understanding of how legal effectiveness contributes to safeguarding children's rights and interests within the realm of marriage dispensations. The practical implication of these findings underscores the imperative to continually develop legal policies and court practices that prioritize the interests and welfare of children.
