Abstract

This research deals with polygamy in Compilation of Islamic Law in Indonesia(KHI) that considered as a basic reference by judges of the Islamic court in theirdecision, comparing with Islamic jurisprudence. KHI states that poliygamy isnot allowed for Indonesian Muslims except in certain conditions. Theresearcher attempts to analize to what extent the conditions agree with theIslamic jurisprudence.

This article examines the character of angels and demons in the Qur'an. Angels and demons are two different human beings. angels are created from light. Abstract

TI1e topic of the research is about the change of law based on the change ofcustom. This research concludes that not all of custom can influence the changeof law. Basically, custom divided into two types: permanent and temporary.TI1e temporary custom caimot influence a law. Titis research describes views ofschool musliin scholars such as Hanafitic, Malikite, Shafiite, Hai1balite andcontemporary muslim scholars. This research refers to the classic and modembooks by reading-critical analysis.

Abstract

This paper concludes that the concept of zakat in Islamic economics has a significant rolein developing community which is not found in conventional economic concept. Zakat isa solution for poverty and unemployment. It prevents the use of non-productive fund,and encourage investment; as distributive justice. This paper uses both classical andmodern references, related to the theory of modern Islamic economics. The research isconducted based on comparative and critical reading on both classical and modernreferences.

Abstract

Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi was one of the prominent scholars in the Islamic world, especially in parts of the western part of the Islamic world. He was a follower of the major schools of Fiqh Az Zahiriyah. He was a scholar who was very firm in his stance, especially with the principles of monotheism. He is also priority of his logical and his knowledge on his argument. His thoughts are relate to morals of Islam according to his behavior. This paper is examines the thoughts of Ibn Hazm about akhlak Islamiyah.

Abstract

Today moderation of Islam faces severe challenges. Abstract

The study is about attention of Islam for knowledge in general and especially inexperimental and modern technology. According to Islam, knowledge isfoundation for developing human being, spiritually, physically and rationally,and it is foundation of civilization and development in all its meaning.Changing human being from the less development to the development andfrom the darkness to the lightness. This study contains four main sub topics:Islam’s support and motivation for research, Muslim scholar’s effort in theirscientific achievement, scientific evident of the Muslim’s initiation in usingexperimental method, and using modern technology. The study refers to theQuranic and Hadis texts, opinions of classical and modern scholars, bothMuslims and non Muslims, and also both classical and modern books.

Abstract

The research talks about the idea of renewing exegesis in Egypt and in Indonesia towards its social literary colour. It became inevitable to conduct the discussion of the renewal of exegesis - whether in Egypt or Indonesia - in the social literary direction through the important issues focused by the interpreters recently. Their efforts of renewing revealed, and where Egypt was the reference to the first source and this concept. The article discusses the concept of renewing from Mohammed Abduh, the owner of Al Manar School in Egypt, and Muhammad Quraish Shihab, the author of tafsir al-Mishbah in Indonesia. The writer attempts to analyze the characteristic of social and literary on both methods of exegesis. Also, to know the influence of Mohammed Abduh in Quraish’s book through the originality and methodology applied in it

Abstract

This paper relates with the science of hadith that explains the terms in books of hadith such as Musnad, Sunan, Muwatta, shahifah, jami ', musannaf etc; and the terms used in their books include authentic, hasan, dha'if, Gharib, mutawatir, ahad, muttafaq 'alaih etc. This exposure is important to the reader understand the terms used by scholars of hadith in their books.
