Abstract

This research aims to analyze the errors which are made by students who use auditorial learning style in solving the problem about curved-side geometry based on Newman Method. There are 3 instruments which are used, they are learning style's questionnaire that is a modification of learning style's questionnaire (VAK) that was developed by V Chislett MSc & A Chapman to gain students' subject uses auditorial learning style, the problems which consist of 3 problems in form of stories about curved-side geometry to know the students' error by using the indicators for each error based on Newman method, and interview guideline the factors which cause the errors. Based on the result of the analysis of learning style's questionnaire which was given to IX-H grade students of SMPN 2 Genteng, it showed that there were 10 students with visual learning style, 10 students with auditorial learning style, and 16 students with kinesthetic learning style. The least percentage of error was 6,66% for reading error, while the most error was for transform error (problem transformation) with 79,99%. Abstract

The existence of a Steam Power Plant greatly helps human electricity needs.The other side, the existence of the power plant activity has a negative impact on the environment. The use of coal fuel produces an air pollutant. The spread of air pollutants is influenced by interrelated variables. The existence of mathematical modeling as an applied science helps represent a problem from real world situations into mathematical language to find solutions to these problems. Mathematical modeling helps build a mathematical formula that describes the spread of air pollutants with actual conditions without ignoring important factors in the system. The analytical exact solution to the problem of spreading air pollutants is very difficult. Therefore, a numerical method approach is used in the form of a volume up method. In this research a mathematical model was built on the distribution of air pollutants based on momentum and mass quantity equations. Abstract

Coronary heart disease is a disease caused by accumulation of cholesterol that forms plaques on artery walls for a considerable period of time. Over time, this disease can cause the heart muscle to weaken, and cause complications such as heart failure. One of ways to treat coronary heart disease is the stent installation (rings) or commonly called angioplasty. Angioplasty aims to make the blood vessels narrow to open so that blood flow flows better. The emergence of mathematical modeling as a new science is one alternative to solve these problems. With mathematical modeling, practitioners can make a form of a formula that describes the state of blood flow in the coronary arteries according to actual conditions without ignoring important factors in the system. In this study a mathematical model was built based on the above problems to determine the effectiveness of stent installation or angioplasty in the process that occurs in coronary arteries. Abstract

Abstract. Cooperative learning type Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) is combination methods between cooperative learning and individual learning. In this research, we will implement STAD to reduce can minimalize student’s error in the topic of social arithmetic. The subject of the research is grade VII B students of SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanggul. The data collection methods used in this research are test, interview, observation and documentation. The result shows that the errors are decreasing; theorem error decrease from 37,85% to 20,71%; data error decrease from 52,14% to 32,14%; technique error decrease from 42,85% to 24,28% and other error decrease from 39,28% to 18,57%. The result also shows that the teaching learning activity using STAD gives a good responses from the teacher and students. Key Words : STAD, student’s error, social arithmetics

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the process and the result of the study in terms of fractions with RME approach for seventh grade students. This research is research development using modified Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel Model. The device developed is learning the lesson plans, student books, student worksheets, and test questions. The subjects were 38 students of class VII D SMP Negeri 14 Jember. The results showed that the learning has been completed criterian effect, is characterized by the fact haigty learned the value of validity. The device also completed practical learning criterian, the fact is characterized by teachers' activities. The device has also been profen effective learning of a percent highty student activity, student achievement master criteria greater than or equal to 80% classical and 75% of students gave positive reactions to this learning. Key Words : Development of Learning Devices, Realistics Mathematics Education.

Abstract.Genius Learning method of Open Ended approach is a learning that creates a positive and conducive in learning process. So, the student can improve their logical thinking and creative thinking.The research aims to know the process and resultof Development ofMathematics Learning MaterialsBased on Genius Learning Method with Open Ended Approach for Linier Equation System in Two Variable of Junior High School at Eight Grade of Odd Semester.The development of learning materials refers toThiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel Model ( 4-D Model). The product of the research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. This product has been implemented in learning of Genius Learning Method with Open Ended in all of learning sets. Based on validation process and tryout the learning sets can be concluded that the learning sets had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract. Era industrialisasi yang berkembang sangat cepat membutuhkan sumber daya energi yang cukup besar, dimana sebagian besar sumber daya energi tersebut semakin berkurang dari waktu ke waktu. Untuk itu dibutuhkan suatu sumber daya energi alternatif yang diharapkan bisa menggantikan sumber daya utama yang semakin berkurang tersebut. Salah satu energi alternatif untuk pemanasan ataupun pembakaran adalah menggunakan oven berbantuan surya yang berguna tetapi memiilki dampak yang ramah terhadap lingkungan. Dari penelitian yang sudah dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode volume hingga dan diselesaikan dengan teknik diskritisasi QUICK maka didapatkan bahwa energi surya dapat dimanfaatkan dengan maksimal jika oven berbentuk kubus dan diberi sekat-sekat, hal ini juga berpengaruh terhadap temperatur awal yang masuk, semakin besar energi surya yang terserap maka proses pemanasan akan berlangsung dengan baik. Sedangkan penyebaran temperatur cukup merata dengan temperatur tertinggi pada oven surya berbentuk kubus adalah terletak pada tengah kubus. Key Words :Modelling, Oven Surya, Finite Volume Method

Abstract

Abstract. ARIMA models as the population forecasting in Situbondo is a model of ARIMA(3, 3, 3) and mathematically, it is stated as; =2,445–1,6632–0,148+0,9732–1,0746+ 0,4676+– 1,0635. Forecasting the population in Situbondo is 667646 people in 2012 and in 2013 is 677852 people. Some other approaches in determining the population is the Arithmetic growth formula, the result of forecasting in 2012 is 657540 people and in 2013 is 661626 people, Based on Geometric growth formula, the result of forecasting in 2012 is 19696459 people and in 2013 is 35211214 people and Based on Exponential growth formula the result of forecasting in 2012 is 657611 people and in 2013 is 661799 people. If we compare the data of the forecasted result of ARIMA model with the Aritmatics growth formula and Exponential growth formula, show that the data of the population with the last ten actual data is relatively similiar.The closed last ten actual data forecasting of population is the aritmatics growth formula, whereas the data of the population result for next two year based on the Geometric growth formula got the forecasted result which is different from the forecasted result of ARIMA model, Aritmatics growth formula and Exponential growth formula. Abstract

Abstract. In mathematics learning, the scoring method used was still dominated by one scoring method which only measure the students’ factual knowledge. Thus, the scoring method should be integrated in the teaching learning process, not merely on the result of learning it self. This research was conducted to improve the grade VIII-I student’s learning achievement and their active participation through the implication of Team Games Tournament (TGT) method of cooperative learning type with authentic assessment on the surface area of the prism and pyramid at SMPN 1 Jember in the 2012/2013 academic year. The research design was Classroom Action Research (CAR), and the data collecting method used was observation, test, interview, and documentation. From the actions implemented in each cycle, it was proved that the students’ score improved from 74,68% in Cycle 1, to 80,76% in Cycle 2. Thus, the average percentage of the second cycle was 76,32% and it fulfilled the research criteria, it showed that the implication of TGT can improve the students’ learning achievment and their active participation. Abstract

Abstract. The learning strategy is one of cause influenced the student’s learning completion. It means that to reach high teaching quality, all studies, especially math, should be organized with the right organizing strategy, then explained to the students with the right strategy. One of the learning strategy which make the students learning desire grow by activating all student’s potential in visual, auditory, or kinesthetic were think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment. The type of this research was classroom action research. The research aimed to find out the student’s activity, student’s learning completeness, and student’s respond to think talk write learning strategy. While the objects were students of X-1 Grade SMAN (Junior High School) 1 Tanggul Jember Residence with 40 students amount. The results of applied research after think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment the average student in the first cycle with 82 reaching 92,5% completeness, where there are 37 students who completed and 3 students did not complete. Then proceed to the second round, second round results on the average value of 84,75 students to reach 100% completeness. Based on the success criteria for this study that at least 75% of the entire class of students there is scored 75-100 or completeness reach 75% -100%. Therefore, it is associated with learning the completeness criteria, the results of this study meets these criteria. It can be concluded that the application of think talk write learning strategy with authentic assessment can improve student learning outcomes in math study in SMAN (Junior High School) 1 Tanggul Jember.
