Abstract

Penelitan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran audio media berbasis lagu kreasi dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional di gugus 1 Seririt. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan post test only control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa yang ada di gugus 1 Seririt dengan jumlah siswa 99 orang. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian adalah 2 kelas SD N 1 Seririt sebagai kelas control dan SD N 2 Seririt sebagai kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari 58 siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes dengan tes hasil belajar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan teknik analisis statistik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris antara siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran audio media berbasis lagu kreasi dengan siswa yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional (tA = 123,21 > tt = 2,000). Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan audio media berbasis lagu kreasi (81.8) lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional (72.2). Dapat disimpulkan audio media berbasis lagu kreasi berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di gugus 1 Seririt.Kata Kunci : audio media berbasis lagu kreasi, kompetensi bahasa Inggris, hasil belajar This research aimed to find the significant differences upon students’ English competence between students who taught by using audio media based on scripted songs with the students who taught by using conventional teaching technique in fifth grade students at sub district 1 Seririt. This research was an experimental research and post-test only control group design as the design of this research. The population was all of the students in sub district 1 Seririt that consist 99 numbers of students. To choose the sample, the simple random sampling was chosen as a technique. There were 2 classes as the samples SD N 1 Seririt as control group and SND 2 Seririt as experimental group that consist of 58 students. The data collection was collected by using post test. The data was analyzed by descriptive quantitative. The results of this research showed that there was significant science result between students who taught by using audio media based on scripted songs with the students who taught by using conventional teaching technique (tA = 123,21 > tt = 2,000). The mean of experimental group that taught by audio media based on scripted songs (81.8) was higher than control group who taught by using cooperative teaching technique (72.2). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dampak dari penggunaan lagu kreasi sebagai media audio terhadap kompetensi Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas lima. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang menggunakan Posttest-Only Control Group Design sebagai model penelitian. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas 5A dan kelas 5B di SD Negeri 3 Sukasada yang dipilih dengan cara simple random sampling. Melalui lotere, kelas 5A terpilih menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelas 5B menjadi kelompok kontrol. Untuk kelompok eksperimen diperlakukan dengan menggunakan lagu kreasi sebagai media audio. Di sisi lain, kelompok kontrol diperlakukan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional. Di akhir perlakuan, post test yang sama diberikan kepada kedua kelompok untuk memeriksa kompetensi Bahasa Inggris siswa. Hasil dari post test menunjukkan bahwa siswa di kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan pencapaian yang lebih baik daripada siswa di kelompok kontrol. Hal itu dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 84.86 sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelompok kontrol adalah 74.73. Selain itu, hasil dari analisis t-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai t-observed (tobv) adalah 4.636 pada degree of freedom 42. Nilai tersebut lebih besar daripada nilai t-critical (tcv) yaitu 2.0181 pada level signifikansi 0.05. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa null hipotesis (Ho) pada penilitian ini ditolak sedangkan alternative hypothesis (Ha) diterima. Sebagai kesimpulan, penggunaan lagu kreasi sebagai media audio memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap kompetensi Bahasa Inggris siswa. Kata Kunci : lagu kreasi, kompetensi Bahasa Inggris, anak-anak This study aimed to find the impact of using scripted songs as an audio media toward English competence of fifth grade students. This study is an experimental study which use Posttest-Only Control Group Design as the research design. The samples of this study were 5A class and 5B class of SD Negeri 3 Sukasada chosen through simple random sampling. Through lottery, 5A class chosen become the experimental group and 5B class became the control group. For the experimental group was treated by using Scripted Songs as an audio media. In other hand, the control group was treated by using Conventional Teaching media. By the end of the treatments, the same posttest was administered to check the students’ English competence. The result of the posttest shows that the students in experimental group got better achievement rather than the students in control group. It was proven by the mean score of experimental group was 84.86 while the mean score of control group was 74.73. Moreover, the result of t-test analysis shows that the t-observed (tobv) was 4.636 at degree of freedom 42. It was higher than the t-critical (tcv) value that was 2.0181 at level significance 0.05. It indicated that the null hypothesis (Ho) in this study was rejected while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. As the conclusion, the use of Scripted Songs as audio media gave significant impact toward the students’ English competence. keyword : Scripted Songs, English competence, young learners

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Commissive acts, grammatical error, diction error, sources of error This study aimed: 1) to identify the patterns of commisive acts, 2) to identify the speech styles used in terms of formal and informal in expressing commisisve acts, 3) to identify types of error based on grammar and diction and, 4) to analyze the sources of error as committed by the eleventh grade students in a language program class at SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan. This study was a qualitative research. The subjects of this study were the eleventh grade students in a language program of SMA Negeri 1 Kubutambahan. The instruments were data elicitation, field note, interview guide, and recorder. The methods of data analysis were data transcription, analysis and category. The results of this study showed that the students produced various categories of speech act nsmely to promise, to refuse, to swear, to threaten, to offer, to accept, to thank, to request, to give opinion, to congratulate. The commissive acts produced by the students were to promise with total percentage 73%, to refuse with total percentage 14%, to swear with total percentage 12% and to threaten with total percentage 1,4%. The speech styles used in terms of formality by the students were 62,3% of formal language and 38,3% of informal language. The errors committed by the students were 80.8% of the grammatical errors and 19,1% of the diction errors. There were two types of sources of errors committed by the students namely interlingual with the total percentage 19,7% and intralingual or developmental factors with the total percentage 80,2%. keyword : Commissive acts, grammatical error, diction error, sources of error

Abstract

This experimental study aimed at finding out the significant effect of Scripted Song-based Audio Media towards English competency of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Tejakula in academic year 2014/2015. The design of this study was post-test only control group design. Random sampling technique was employed in order to define which class selected as control group or experimental group, resulted in class 5 of SDN 2 Tejakula randomly selected as the control group which was taught by using conventional teaching media and class SDN 1 Tejakula randomly selected as the experimental group which was taught by using Scripted Song-based Audio Media. Both groups consisted of 20 students each. The results of data analysis showed that the students who were taught by implementing Scripted Song-based Audio Media performed better than those who were taught by implementing conventional teaching media. The descriptive statistic analysis result of mean score of listening post-test in experimental group was 79, while in control group was 68. The mean score of speaking post-test in experimental group was 81 and in the control group was 70. In reading, the mean score in experimental group was 78.2 while in the control group was 68.7. The mean score of writing post-test 90.4 for experimental group and 76.1 for control group. The mean score of English competency in experimental group was 80.9 while the control group was 71.1. The results of t-test analysis of the tobs was 6.256. It was higher than the value of the tcv at 2.024394164(α = 0.05). Moreover, the result of observation indicated that the implementation of Scripted Song-based Audio Media motivated the students in comprehending English competence. In conclusion, Scripted Song-based audio media contributed in giving a significant effect to students’ English competency. keyword : English competency, Scripted songs

Abstract

Abstrak Berdasarkan data yang ditemukan pada observasi awal, menyatakan bahwa kelas VII B2 di SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja memiliki kompetensi membaca yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengubah strategi membaca siswa, meningkatkan kompetensi membaca siswa dan untuk menyebutkan hambatan yang ditemukan dalam penerapan REAP teknik. Penelitian ini dirancang dalam bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Subyek penelitian yaitu 36 siswa yang terdiri dari 18 laki-laki dan 18 perempuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui evaluasi, observasi dan kuesioner. Setelah diberi tindakan dari siklus I ke siklus II, perubahan strategi siswa dalam membaca yaitu, para siswa mampu membaca teks dengan mencari ide pokok dari suatu bacaan, menyandikan ide pokok dengan menggunakan kata-kata sendiri, membuat catatan penting/simbol tentang teks dalam bentuk tulisan dan mendiskusikannya dengan teman sebangku. Hasil kompetensi membaca siswa meningkat sejalan dengan pemberian latihan secara intensif. Persentase peningkatan hasil belajar siswa yang telah lulus pada observasi awal berjumlah 8 siswa (22%), pada siklus I berjumlah 22 siswa (61%), sedangkan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 32 siswa (89%). Kendala-kendala yang ditemui dalam pelaksanaan strategi ini antara lain, para siswa tidak terbiasa dengan strategi yng digunakan peneliti, keadaan kelas yang diluar kendali, beberapa siswa yang tidak berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan dikelas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelaksanaan REAP teknik dapat mengubah strategi membaca siswa, meningkatkan kompetensi membaca siswa kelas VII B2 di SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja dan hambatan-hambatan yang ditemukan selama penelitian. Kata Kunci : Kompetensi membaca, REAP teknik Abstract The findings of pre-observation indicated that student class VII B2 of SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja had low reading competency. The present study was intended to change the students’ reading strategy, to improve students reading competency and to find the obstacles conducting the implementation of REAP technique. The study was designed in the form of classroom action research. It was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of study were 36 students consisting of 18 males and 18 females. The data were collected through reading evaluation, observation checklist and questionnaires. After given the treatment from cycle I to Cycle II, students’ strategy in reading changed, they read the text and then encoded the main idea into their own language, annotated the main idea into a form of writing and pondered it with their friend. The data of students reading competency improved along with the implementation of intensive rehearsal. The percentage of students who had passed the passing score of reading in pre-observation were 8 students (22%), in cycle I were 22 students (61%), meanwhile in cycle II were improved into 32 students (89%). The obstacles were, the students were unfamiliar with the strategy, class become noise, some students inactive in classroom. It could be concluded that the implementation of REAP technique could change the students’ reading strategy and improve reading competency of students class VII B2 SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja. However, some obstacles found during the implementation of this strategy. keyword : Reading competency, REAP Technique.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya bebedaan berarti dalam kemampuan siswa menulis antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi Dialogue Journal dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Post-test Only Control Group Design. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 8 SMP N 3 Banjar. Metode Cluster Random Sampling digunakan untuk menentukan sample dari penelitian ini. Kelas VIII.5 dipilih sebagai kelompok experimental yang diajar menggunakan strategi Dialogue Journal, sedangkan kelas VIII.3 dipilih sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diajar menggunakan strategi konvensional. Hasil dari pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelompok experimental menunjukan keterampilan menulis lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa kelompok kontrol. Hal ini dibuktikan dari analisis deskriptif yang menunjukan nilai rata-rata siswa kelompok experimental adalah 75.83, sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa di kelompok kontrol adalah 62.46. Hasil dari t-test juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai tobs lebih besar dari nilai tcv. Nilai dari tobs adalah 7.256, sedangkan nilai dari tcv adalah 2.02 (α = .05). Ini berarti bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang berarti antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi Dialogue Journal dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan strategi Conventional.Kata Kunci : Strategi Dialogue Journal, Strategi konvensional, kemampuan menulis This study aimed at investigating whether or not there was a significant difference in writing competency between the students who were taught by using dialogue journal strategy and those who were taught by using conventional strategy. The research design of this study was Post-test Only Control Group Design. The population was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Banjar. Cluster Random Sampling was assigned to select the sample of the study.Class VIII.5 was assigned as the experimental group which was taught by using Dialogue Journal Strategy and class VIII.3 as the control group which was taught by using conventional strategy.The result of the data analysis showed that students in experimental group perfomed better writing than students in control group. It was proven by the result of descriptive statistics that showed the mean score the experimental group was 75.83, while the mean score of control group was 62.46. The result of the t-test also showed that the value of the tobs was higher than the tcv. The value of the tobs was 7.256, while the value of the tcv was 2.02 (α = .05). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas penerapan project based learning dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris di kelas X MIA 5 di SMA N 4 Singaraja. Jumlah subjek penelitian ini adalah 43 siswa, terdiri dari 22 perempuan dan 21 laki-laki. Pembahasan penilitian ini mencakup (1) topic-topik yang diajarkan dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan project based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja, (2) langkah-langkah dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan projek based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja, (3) jenis-jenis penilaian yang digunakan dalam pengajaran pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan projek based learning di SMA N 4 Singaraja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode dokumentasi, metode observasi dan metode wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif melalui data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/ verification. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa topic-topik yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan project based learning adalah explanation text, recount text, narrative text dan expression of sympathy and invitation. Langkah-langkah pengajaran bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan speculation, designing the project activities, conducting the project activities and evaluation. Jenis penilaian yang digunakan adalah penilaian sikap, penilaian pengetahuan dan penilaian keterampilan. Hasil penelitian menenukan bahwa guru di sekolah SMA N 4 Singaraja menerapkan project based learning dengan baik Kata Kunci : kurikulum 2013, project based learning, pengajaran bahasa inggris This present study aimed at discussing the implementation of project based learning in teaching English in class X MIA 5 in SMA N 4 Singaraja. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi nilai-nilai karakter dan (2) menganalisa strategi-stretegi yang digunakan untuk menyisipkan nili-nilai karakter tersebut pada Buku Siswa Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Kurikulum 2013 Kelas X Semester 1. Penelitian ini didisain secara kualitatif menggunakan studi dokumen atau analisa isi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui identifikasi, kategorisasi dan deskripsi dengan peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci. Validasi data didapatkan melalui triangulasi teori. Temuan menunjukkan terdapat 15 nilai-nilai karakter yang disisipkan pada Buku Siswa Pelajaran Bahasa Inggris Kurikulum 2013 Kelas X Semester 1 yaitu kejujuran, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatifitas, kemandirian, rasa ingin tahu, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat/komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial dan tanggung jawab. Strategi-strategi yang digunakan untuk menyisipkan mereka adalah (1) menggunakan cerita sebagai instrumen pengajaran, (2) melibatkan orang tua dalam pembelajaran, (3) pertemuan atau diskusi kelas, (4) menggunakan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif, (5) mengajar untuk ketertarikan siswa, (6) memberikan PR, dan (7) bermain peran.Kata Kunci : nilai-nilai karakter, strategi, buku pelajaran This study aimed at (1) identifying the character values inserted and (2) analyzing the strategies to insert the character values in the Student English Textbook Curriculum 2013 for Grade X Semester 1. This study was designed qualitatively using document study or content analysis design. The data were collected through identification, categorization and description with the researcher as the key instrument. The data validation was gained through theory triangulation. The findings showed that there were fifteen character values inserted in Student English Textbook Curriculum 2013 for Grade X Semester 1 namely honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, curiosity, patriotism, achievement respect, friendliness/ communicativeness, peace love, reading habit, environmental care, social care and responsibility. The strategies used to insert them were (1) using story as the teaching instrument, (2) involving parents in learning task, (3) class meeting or discussion, (4) using cooperative learning strategies, (5) teaching for students’ interest, (6) giving homework, and (7) role play.keyword : character values, strategies, textbook

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kategori interaksi kelas yang terjadi di kelas VII.4 di SMP Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja berdasarkan Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories (FIAC). Kategori interaksi yang sering digunakan, bahasa yang dominan di gunakan dan alasan menggunakan bahasa tersebut dalam interaksi kelas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru dan siswa kelas VII. 4 sebanyak 36 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) accepts feelings terjadi sebanyak 126 ucapan, praises atau encouragement terjadi sebanyak 177 ucapan, accepts atau uses ideas of students terjadi sebanyak 74 ucapan, asks questions terjadi sebanyak 407 ucapan, lecturing terjadi sebanyak 230 ucapan, giving directions terjadi sebanyak 469 ucapan, criticizing atau justifying authority terjadi sebanyak 80 ucapan, students’ talk response terjadi sebanyak 348 ucapan, students’ talk initiation terjadi sebanyak 79 ucapan, silence atau confusion terjadi sebanyak 226 ucapan. Kategori dari interaksi kelas yang paling sering terjadi yaitu giving direction. Bahasa yang dominan di gunakan adalah Bahasa Indonesia yang terjadi sebanyak 1027 ucapan sementara Bahasa Inggris terjadi sebanyak 963 ucapan, selanjutnya alasan menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia dalam interaksi kelas yaitu: (a) karena Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk mengklarifikasi instruksi berbahasa inggris. (b) Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk mengklarifikasi kata-kata asing bagi siswa. (c) Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk memberikan contoh-contoh. (d) Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk mengkritisi tingkah laku negatif siswa. (e) Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk memberikan feedback. (f) Bahasa Indonesia digunakan untuk bertanya. Kata Kunci : Interaksi Kelas, Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories (FIAC). (b) Bahasa Indonesia was used to clarify unfamiliar words. (c) Bahasa Indonesia was used to give examples. (d) Bahasa Indonesia was used to criticize students’ bad behavior.
