Abstract

This was a study descriptively identifying relationship between feedback environment and job satisfaction conducted in Polytechnic Malaysia. A total of 105 lecturers via random sampling method were chosen from local Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) education organization in Sarawak. The questionnaire consisted of three parts including the modified items of Job Satisfaction Scale (Ling, 2016; Quinn & Shepard, 1974). The extent of organization support on feedback process was diagnosed using feedback environment questionnaires by Ling (2016). The findings displayed that there is a significant influence in feedback environment towards job satisfaction. Regression analysis also shown that the best combination of feedback credibility, feedback quality and feedback delivery contributed greater change in job satisfaction. In conclusion, this study recommends that feedback environment factors should be prioritized not only to create job satisfaction but to maintain the effectiveness of the organization in the long run.

Abstract

This study is conducted to: (1) analyze the level of alignment between chemistry content on TIMSS with science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School and (2) describe the discrepancies between chemistry content on TIMSS with science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School in term of cognitive demands as well as subject content covered. This study was descriptive which used content analysis method. The content analysis was conducted on chemistry content of TIMSS and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School. To determine the degree of alignment criteria, this study used the method developed by Porter. Accordingly, the level of alignment is symbolized by Porter's Alignment Index. The results showed that the degree of alignment between TIMSS and and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School was 0.49 (low level of alignment). This imperfect alignment level is characterized by the discrepancies in term of subject content covered and cognitive demands among chemistry content on TIMSS and and science-chemistry textbooks of Junior High School. This can affect certainly toward the achievement of Indonesian students in TIMSS

Abstract

The aim of this research was to improve mathematical written communication and mathematical disposition of students by using think-talk-write (TTW) learning strategy in tenth grade IPS 4 students at SMAN 50 Jakarta 2017/2018 academic year. The design of this study was a classroom action research. The subject of this research consists of 6 students, 2 students with low written communication skills with moderate disposition skills, 2 students having medium-skilled and medium disposition ability and 2 students who have high disposition ability with medium and high disposition ability. The data collection techniques were consist of    1) Giving mathematics written communication ability test, 2) Spreading mathematic disposition questionnaire, 3) Doing filed notes, 4) Interviewing with the research subjects. The result was based on the end of the third cycle, it was obtained all subject experienced has increase in mathematical written communication ability and 4 out of 6 subjects experienced has increase in mathematical disposition ability. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the TTW learning strategy can increase mathematical written communication and mathematical disposition ability in tenth grade IPS 4 students at SMAN 50 Jakarta 2017/2018 academic year. In this research, an improvement made at the thinking stage was to write answers on the worksheet so that students will be more passionate about thinking of how to solve problems. On the talking stage, students were not only explaining completion but also helping team members who having difficulties. On the write stage, students could write the answer using their own phrase so that they will understand more about the completion based on observations and the results of questionnaires to increase the ability of mathematical disposition it can be seen that students experience increased self-confidence in explaining the ideas obtained, able to solve problems in various ways and have the willingness to solve mathematical problems. Besides, when the teacher asks students to re-examine the result of the work, it can be seen that students check their work while checking if there was a problem-solving problem.

Abstract

The development of a multidisciplinary integrated project-based learning model was carried out to answer the needs in elementary schools. Learning in elementary schools that use thematic approaches needs to be managed well to improve learning effectiveness. This study uses a type of research and development. The development process uses the Gall, Gall & Borg (2007) model. The preparation of guidelines and student book examples uses the steps of Dick, Carey, & Carey (2009). The model developed is accompanied by derivative products, namely learning manuals and student book examples. Based on this study, learning manuals and student book examples can be used in multidisciplinary integrated project-based learning to improve critical thinking skills and student collaboration.

Abstract

Abstract: Books become a source of student activity and experience, serve as a guide for exploration, and experiment with concrete materials, directing students to be involved in the process and method of inquiry. The book provides direction for direct science experiences. This study aims to develop a feasible and effective movable book to improve students' science process skills. This study was a development research with Borg and Gall development model. The subjects were students and teachers of grade IV elementary school in Ngaglik sub-district Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and tests. Validation of products developed was carried out by media experts, and material experts. Teacher responses and responses of students were asked to see the practicality of using the product. Based on the validation, it was known that the movable book was feasible for use. Feasibility in the media aspect obtained a score of 255 with the category "feasible", the material aspect obtained a score of 95 with the category "feasible". The acquisition of teacher response scores from 109 to 116 with the category "very feasible", the acquisition of student response scores from 35 to 37.95 with the category "very feasible". The product that was developed effectively improved the science process skills based on the results of independent sample t-test showed a significance level of 0.03 which means
