Abstract

This research aims to (1) discover to which extent the implementation of the 4C skill reaches its effectiveness and (2) reveal the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of 4C skills in Indonesian subject in all senior high schools throughout Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency. The evaluation model used was the discrepancy evaluation model. The research subjects who participated in this research were two Indonesian teachers and 111 eleventh-graders in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency. Based on the data analysis, the results reveal that the implementation of 4C skills in Indonesian subject learning in all senior high schools throughout the Komodo District is excellent. Furthermore, it is also revealed the essential factors that support the implementation namely peer support (mutual help), the seriousness of the teacher in providing equal attention to all students, and the ability of teachers to understand and execute the 4C skills learning. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors found are the lack of textbooks as learning sources and the unconducive classroom situation/ surroundings. To improve the implementation, principals are recommended to (1) conduct regular training and discussion on the implementation of the 4C skills for the teachers, (2) periodically administer evaluation on the learning process to discover the strength and weakness of 4C skills implementation, and (3) improving the learning facilities to support the learning process. For teachers, they are advised to carry out self-assessment/ self-evaluation (assessment for learning) on the implementation of the 4C skills in their classroom.

Abstract

Cultural diversity that exists in various regions in Indonesia produces a lot of potential for local wisdom and tradition. Various Indonesian local wisdoms have been used as teaching material in the classroom. However, pepaccur local wisdom is still rarely known and used as teaching material. Therefore it is a novelty to turn pepaccur local wisdom into Indonesian literary teaching materials. This study aims to investigate the properness of pepaccur local wisdom for Indonesian literary teaching materials. The qualitative approach used in this study is characterized by collecting data through interviews, observation, recording and book review, and other sources related to pepaccur local wisdom. Content analyses were also used in analyzing the collected data. The results of this study are in the form of pepaccur presentations that are appropriate to be used as teaching materials for Indonesia language and literature based on the characteristics of the functions and values of local wisdom contained in them. Values contained in pepaccur such as religion, simplicity, cooperation and politeness can be a reference in behaving in the community and this integration can be an effort to preserve local wisdom that has begun to be abandoned by the Lampung community. Implications from this study, through pepaccur-based teaching materials, students can learn to live a simple life, have a community with mutual help and respect, and learn poetic arts to provide entertainment and advice.

Abstract

The study investigates the impact of using AR in learning 3D geometry on students’ attitude and conceptual understanding. The research was carried out using a quasi-experimental design, in particular by using conceptual understanding test and attitude towards geometry questionnaire, in a public secondary school in Rangkasbitung, Banten, Indonesia. Two groups of students were used for data collection; the experimental (31 students) and the control groups (30 students). The data analyzed by independent sample t-test, using significant level of 0.05. The results of this study were: (1) students’ conceptual understanding in mathematics in AR group was better than control group, (2) students’ conceptual understanding in mathematics for both groups was in medium category, and (3) students’ attitude towards geometry in AR group was better than control group. Therefore, the appropriate method that be used in learning geometry can affect students’ conceptual understanding. Additionally, learning environment also needs to be teachers’ attention, because it can affect students’ attitude and their involvement in learning process.

Abstract

This research aimed at developing theoretical models and guidelines for cyber counseling, as well as examining their acceptability and effectiveness. The stages of the study consisted of 4 D namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The acceptance test involved 2 experts as reviewers, while the effectiveness test involved 30 high school students as participants. The effectiveness of models and guidelines was measured by participants' responses to the benefits of cyber counseling. Data were collected using questionnaires and then analyzed using a t-test. Results showed that the theoretical model of cyber counseling consisted of raw input, instrumental input, environmental input, process, and counseling goals. The guidelines for cyber counseling were set out in the steps of cyber counseling consisting of initial communication, internalization, and termination. The acceptance of the model and cyber counseling guidelines was very high with a coefficient of 1.00. Therefore, cyber counseling should be used as a model of counseling services for high school students in the digital age effectively.
