Abstract

This study aims to explain the environmental conservation efforts of coastal areas in the Tanjung Kemarau novel by Royyan Julian with ecocriticism perspective. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by using data tabulation and researchers themselves as instruments. The data obtained were tested for content validity and reliability and then were analyzed based on four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that efforts to conserve the coastal environment were classified into two: the mitigation of environmental damage and the anticipated environmental damage. First, efforts to conserve the environment through mitigation was conducted by stopping the use of trawl nets. Second, environmental conservation efforts through anticipation is conducted by refusing the shifting of the mangrove forest function, back to nature, the myth, beliefs in the myth, and the sea quotation ceremony. Based on the discussion conducted showed that the Tanjung Kemarau novel establish the importance of safe guarding the environment based on cultural identity based on the values of local wisdom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui kebutuhan siswa akan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia berdasarkan studi pustaka dan studi lapangan, (2) memaparkan perencanaan dan pengembangan awal bahan ajar pembelajaran menulis berbasis pendekatan proses berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan siswa, (3) mengetahui kelayakan bahan ajar pembelajaran menulis cerita berbasis pendekatan proses bagi siswa SMP menurut ahli, guru bahasa Indonesia, serta siswa, (4) menghasilkan bahan ajar pembelajaran menulis cerita berbasis pendekatan proses yang layak digunakan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan prosedur pengembangan menurut Borg and Gall yang meliputi: analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan pengembangan produk, pengembangan produk, evaluasi produk, dan dihasilkan produk akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar pembelajaran menulis cerita berbasis pendekatan proses bagi siswa SMP, adalah sebagai berikut. (1) siswa memerlukan bahan ajar yang berisi cara menulis cerita. (2) perencanaan dan pengembangan bahan ajar disesuaikan dengan temuan dari analisis kebutuhan, dengan meramu materi cerita dan cara menulis cerita berdasarkan teori pendekatan proses menjadi satu kesatuan. (3) kualitas bahan ajar pembelajaran yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi, aspek bahasa dan gambar, aspek penyajian, dan aspek kegrafisan menurut ahli, secara keseluruhan berkualitas “baik”. (4) produk akhir berupa bahan ajar pembelajaran menulis cerita berbasis pendekatan proses yang dikembangkan terdiri atas tiga kegiatan belajar. kegiatan belajar I berisi pengenalan cerita, sedangkan kegiatan belajar II dan kegiatan belajar III berisi tahapan menulis cerita dengan pendekatan proses.Kata Kunci: bahan ajar, menulis cerita, pendekatan proses Developing a story writing teaching module based on the process approach for SMP students AbstractThe objectives of this study were: (1) know the students’ need for Indonesia language teaching, especially the story writing teaching module based on the theoretical and field study; (2) describe the planning and developing the beginning of the writing teaching module by the process approach based on the students’ need analysis; (3) know the properness of the story writing teaching module based on the process approach for SMP students according to the experts, the Indonesian teacher and the students; (4) produce the story writing teaching module based on the process approach which is proper used. This research was a research and development study with the developing procedure according to Borg and Gall which consist of the need analysis, the product development planning, the product development, the product evaluation, and the final product. The results of the study show that the story writing teaching module based on the process approach for SMP students are as follows. (1) The students need the module which consists the way of story writing. (2) The module development planning is adapted with the finding from the need analysis by arranging the story materials and the way of the story writing based on the theory of the process approach as a whole. (3) The quality of the teaching module which is developed determined by the experts indicated from the aspects of content, language, graphic, and presentation properness is good. (4) The final product is the story writing teaching module based on the process approach developed consists of three learning activities. The first learning activity is the introduction of the story, the second and third learning activity is the story writing steps with the process approach.Keywords: module, story writing, process approach

Abstract

Language in an advertisement has two functions. The first is language as a means of communication and thesecond is language as a means of forming social reality. The first function deals with its use as a source of information, whilethe second deals with its use as a creative art in engineering expected world or condition. As a source of information, thelanguage becomes a means of delivering true information about a certain product being advertised to people. It describesall the details of the product, such as the use, advantages, and ease. This is intended to make consumers know well aboutthe product and decide t buy it. As a means of forming social reality, the language in advertisement is used to create animage about the product for the consumers. This process of building image represents in making association between theproduct and life style, social class, and symbols of modernity.

Abstract

Folklore is a part of medium to enhancing children’s intelligence. Motivation to perform well (need for achievement) is mentality aspect that most necessary for society which been developing. That mentality aspect could be inspired from society’s own folklore. Therefore its vital to accustom the tell a story activity, either in school and family. Story socialization is early stage from reading habit, inner experience, and investing values as child’s behavioral reference standards in life. Tell a story activity also the part of child stimulation in the form of verbal, nonverbal, intellectual, and tactile. Story can have a positive impact to child’s socio-emotional aspect. Through tell a story activity, parent and teacher can train child’s emotion in order to improving emotional intelligence.

Abstract

A nation’s reality showing cultural diversity, directed us to grasp multiculturalism principle. In this principle, there’s consciousness that nation is not singular, but plural, consist of many different components. Historical realities showing that Indonesian nation stand in midst cultural diversity. We can call Indonesia as most complete plural country in the world, beside America. In America, we know et pluribus unum slogan, resemble with bhineka tunggal ika, literally stand for many but one. Latest condition showed that cultural diversity became source of conflict between nations-components. Multidimensional crisis suffered by Indonesian nation still not ending yet. Therefore, we need explicit and clear action and step to maintain society’s attitude to care, respect, and understand cultural diversity values that become fundament of this nation and state. One of its steps is make cultural pluralism as educational strategy at school

Abstract

Text book is books that function as student reference as learning media (instructional). Text books have important role on every education system, inside class or outside class. Text book content developed based on prevailing curriculum. Therefore, text book must standardized, and seen as collection of knowledge about every side of life. Its have to be prepared on its comprehensiveness and its presentation, so can give facility to autonomous learning activity, on its substance or its method. Text book is a part of learning equipment that very important to accelerate, enhance, and educate student. Test books must be designed carefully to function as effective learning tools.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the discourse of Japanese society tradition with conservative mindset as the impact of Tokugawa power that applied sakoku (isolation politics) for more than two hundred years began questioned, criticized and disputed in Hanauzumi?s novel by Jun'ichi Watanabe. This study uses Foucault's discourse approach that is applied to express the form of discourse by external and internal exclusion. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, the data collected is data that explains the problem of production and distribution of discourse based on Foucault's external and internal exclusion. The results of this study indicate that Jun'ichi Watanabe produces, distributes and transforms modern discourse as counter discourse against the discourse of tradition to change the way of thinking, customs and culture that harm women.

Abstract

Cultural diversity that exists in various regions in Indonesia produces a lot of potential for local wisdom and tradition. Various Indonesian local wisdoms have been used as teaching material in the classroom. However, pepaccur local wisdom is still rarely known and used as teaching material. Therefore it is a novelty to turn pepaccur local wisdom into Indonesian literary teaching materials. This study aims to investigate the properness of pepaccur local wisdom for Indonesian literary teaching materials. The qualitative approach used in this study is characterized by collecting data through interviews, observation, recording and book review, and other sources related to pepaccur local wisdom. Content analyses were also used in analyzing the collected data. The results of this study are in the form of pepaccur presentations that are appropriate to be used as teaching materials for Indonesia language and literature based on the characteristics of the functions and values of local wisdom contained in them. Values contained in pepaccur such as religion, simplicity, cooperation and politeness can be a reference in behaving in the community and this integration can be an effort to preserve local wisdom that has begun to be abandoned by the Lampung community. Implications from this study, through pepaccur-based teaching materials, students can learn to live a simple life, have a community with mutual help and respect, and learn poetic arts to provide entertainment and advice.
