Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika (JPM), an electronic peer-reviewed international journal, provides a forum for publishing the original research articles, review articles from contributors, and the novel technology news related to mathematics education. This journal is provided for writers, teachers, students, professors, and researchers, who will publish their research reports or their literature review articles (only for invited contributors) about mathematics education and its instructional for authors and readers worldwide. Start from July 2007, this journal publishes two times a year, in July and January. Besides regular writers, for each volume, the contents will be contributed by invited contributors who experts in mathematics education either from Indonesia or abroad. The journal invites original research articles and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The whole spectrum of research in mathematics education are welcome, which includes, but is not limited to the following topics Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) or Pendidikan Matematika Realistik Indonesia, Design/Development Research in Mathematics Education, Mathematics Ability, and PISA Task.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal pemecahan masalah berbasis argumen yang valid dan praktis  pada pokok bahasan pecahan, bangun datar dan bangun ruang untuk siswa kelas V SD serta untuk mengetahui efek potensial soal yang dikembangkan terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 79 Palembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (development research). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VB SD Negeri 79 Palembang sebanyak 35 orang. Pengumpulan data melalui walkthrough, lembar kepraktisan dan tes. Semua data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menyimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini telah menghasilkan produk soal pemecahan masalah berbasis argumen pada pokok bahasan pecahan, bangun datar dan bangun ruang untuk siswa kelas V SD yang valid dan praktis. Valid tergambar dari hasil penilaian validator, dimana semua validator menyatakan sudah baik berdasarkan konten, konstruk dan bahasa.  Praktis tergambar dari hasil uji coba siswa kelompok kecil dimana sebagian besar siswa dapat menyelesaikan soal-soal yang diberikan, dan memiliki efek potensial yang cukup baik hal ini terlihat dengan munculnya argumen-argumen siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal tes, dan rata-rata dua kali tes mencapai  65,03 dengan kategori cukup baik. Artinya soal yang dikembangkan cukup efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kata Kunci: Penelitian Pengembangan, Soal pemecahan masalah berbasis argumen.

Abstract

Teaching learning process in math hasn’t been requiring student to construct their knowledge and to exercise their critical thinking. So need to develop constructivism instruction materials for exercise student’s ability in critical thinking. This research aim to: (1) Produce the valid and practice constructivism instruction materials to exercise student’s ability in critical learning, (2) Know effectiveness it to exercise student’s ability in critical learning. Instruction materials were developed in this research are plan learning, student worksheet and test of student’s ability in critical thinking. Development research methods are used by this research. The methods consist of analysis, design, evaluation and revision. Collecting data use Observation and test. Observation is used to know the student’s activity in teaching learning process and to know the teacher’s ability in learning constructivism approach management. Test is used to know the result of student’s ability in critical thinking after teaching learning process. Subjects in this research are students from the first semester in class X.7 at SMA Negeri 10, Palembang . The total subjects are 40 students. The conclusions are: 1. Instruction materials process development is for quadrate equivalence only that begins from analysis design, and than evaluation until revision. 2. Instruction materials prototype is develope, fulfill in valid and practice criteria also have effect potential. 3. Some aspects of student’s activity in learning process do not effective; because restructure (57.92 %) and review (55.00 %) just in enough category. The result learning test to evaluate student’s ability in critical thinking is 24.38. It means the student’s ability in critical thinking is good category. The final conclusion is constructivism instruction materials can practice to exercise student’s ability in critical thinking for math learning. Key words: critical thinking ability, the set of learning.

Abstract

One of mathematic lesson which is used in our daily life is fraction. Reside that fraction is Basic of mathematic learning. But it still difficult by students. Therefore, it is hended to develop the lesson by using PMRI-based to improve student’s achievment. These research objectives are: (1) to find out the valid and practical lesson for fraction which is Developer by PMRI-based. (2) to know the potencial effect which is come up from developing the fraction lesson through students’ achievement and their activity. Research methodology was used is development research which is included from analisis, design, evaluation and revision. In collecting the data was applied by using observation and test. Observation was done in order to see students’ activity in process of learning by using PMRI-based and the best was used to measure their ability. The sample of this research was the third year students (35 Students) Primary Scholl 0f 21 Palembang in second semestre. The conclusions are (1) Prototype of the lesson which was Developer is valid, practical and had a potencial effect, (2) there was one ineffective aspect in process of learning that is finishing the problem solving or finding answer of the problem, comparing their solutions or discussing with friends  and in asking aspect or in finding the questions/answers of friends/teacher and (3) the test result to measure students’ ability (87,0). It showed that the level of students’ ability is categorized as very good ability. Therefore, learning realistic mathematic can be used to improve students’ achievement. Key words : RME, research development, fraction material.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan minat belajar siswa dengan media komputer program cyberlink power director dan tanpa media komputer pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling yang artinya setiap kelas memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk dijadikan sampel penelitian, diperoleh kelas VIII1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII3  sebagai kelas kontrol masing - masing yang berjumlah 30  siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata – rata pretes  1,989 dan postes 2,879. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata – rata pretes 1,985  dan postes 2,392. Dimana data kedua kelompok berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t, dengan  α = 0,05. Untuk pretes siswa diperoleh t = 0,05  sedangkan t1-1/2α = 2,018, terlihat bahwa -t1-1/2α <t < t1-1/2α sehingga Ho diterima yaitu tidak ada perbedan minat belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pada postes hasil belajar siswa diperoleh t = 5,57 sedangkan t1-1/2α = 2,018 dengan t > t1-1/2α sehingga Ha diterima yaitu ada perbedan minat belajar siswa dengan  menggunakan media komputer program Cyberlink Power Director dan tanpa menggunakan media komputer  pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok  di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa minat belajar kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media komputer program Cyberlink Power Director lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan minat belajar pada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan media komputer  dengan presentase peningkatan sebesar 20,36 %. Kata Kunci : Minat Belajar, Media Komputer program cyberlink power director

Abstract

The research aims are to know (1) the effect of learning approach toward mathematics echievement, (2) the effect of reasoning level student’s toward mathematics echievement, and (3) intraction between learning approach and reasoning level student’s toward mathematics echievement. The research method that be used is experiment research. Collecting data is conducted by reasoning test and echievement mathematics test. The research is experimented at Senior High School number 1 Kayuagung. Population of research  is all student at tenth class grade that involve 7 class. The sample are class X.A  that involve 31 student as experiment class and X.B that involve 31 student as control class. The research show that the Anova two way for approach learning is obtained F hitung = 15,982 and Ftabel=4,02, so F hitung > F tabel, or the mathematics echievement student that be following at constructivism approach is better than at conventional approach. The anova two way for level reasoning student’s is obtained F hitung = 39,489 and Ftabel=4,02, so Fhitung> F tabel, or The students that have high level reasoning is better than the students that have low level reasoning. The analysis of two way Anova for interaction between the approach learning and the level reasoning student’s is obtained F hitung = 0,265 and Ftabel=4,02, so F hitung < Ftabel, or there isn’t interaction between  learning approach and the level reasoning student’s  to reach mathematics echievement.Keywords: Learning Approach, Mathematical Reasoning and Mathematics Echievement

Abstract

The aim of this research are : (1) Producing the student worksheet for valid and practical guidance find method in math learning in the eighth class student in SMP Negeri 18 Palembang. (2) To know potential effect of the using student worksheet for guidance finder method to ability the eight class in SMP Negeri 18 Palembang. The research is developed  learning practice plan, the student worksheet and the ability student test.This research use the development research method, and it contains analysis, design, evaluation and revision. The collecting data were used by observation and test. Observation use to analysis student activity along teaching learning process and the test use to analysis student ability. Subjects in this research are 40 students in the eight class in SMP Negeri 18 Palembang.The conclusion are: (1). the student worksheet are developed in this research is valid, practical and have potency effect for the student ability in the eighth class student in SMP Negeri 18 Palembang. (2). Prototype of the student worksheet is valid and practical. Valid were shown by validation  evaluation that all validation result good base on content and construct and language. Practical were shown by every student can using the student worksheet good. (3) the student worksheet have potency effect to student ability. It were shown b the ability test result in good student ability level. Key words: guidance find method, student worksheet.

Abstract

The clues of the research is to known description of students problem solving  ability by applying of Cooperative STAD type by problem solving . Model of study of cooperative STAD type by problem solving is a model to solve mathematics problem that have done by groups giving clues. The clues consist of some  solving keys that given a part, each of member groups get a key. Subject of reseach are 48 students of grade XI natural science in senior high school 6 Palembang. Data collecting have done by giving test that content 3 discription question. The results of analysis shown mean of discriptor indicator are 74.34%, average abilty are 79.04 or 85.42% have shown good ability for problem solving. Conclusions of this reseach are learning use study model of Cooperative Problem Solving could be done to practise the ability of student’s problem.Key word: the ability of  problem solving, model of study of Cooperative Type STAD by Problem Solving
