Abstract

This study aims to develop inquiry based multimedia mathematics teaching materials that can improve the critical thinking skills of high school students in North Sumatera. This research was conducted in North Sumatera Province, from 2016 to 2018. The population of this research is all SMA in North Sumatera Province. The subject of this research is high school students. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling, which is choosing six SMA randomly with three SMA Negeri and three private SMA. To know the influence of mathematics materials based on inquiry of multi media aid developed used quasi experimental research design with control group post test only design. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observations, and tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique, t test and anava. Tests of research found inquiry learning model in groups make students dare to express opinions and accept opinions of others. Multilingual aided instructional learning model interacts with students early mathematical abilities of critical thinking skills. Initial students with moderate and higher category skills prefer to use multimedia-based inquiry learning models, whereas for early low-ability students it is better to use ordinary or expository learning models. Critical thinking ability of students more in the medium category that is equal to 38.71%, this means to improve critical thinking skills in this study need to note one of the 3rd limitation in giving more opportunities for students to think creatively.

Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to develop a set of integrated problem-based mathematics teaching kits implemented with ICT to improve the critical thinking ability of junior high school students. The study used 4-D learning device development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The data were collected through the observation of the learning process and students' activity, students' questionnaire responses, and a critical thinking ability test. The findings showed that mathematics teaching materials consisting of teaching kits as a teachers’ handbook based on ICT integrated problem-based materials completed with lesson plans, worksheets, and the use of media learning were appropriate to use.Based on the test results conducted in the field, the teaching kits can enhance the students' critical thinking ability. The findings showed that the average gain in two schools was in the range of g 0.7, which means that the students' critical thinking ability belonged to the high category, while that of the third school was in the range of 0.3  g  0.7 at 0.62 which means the students’ critical thinking ability belonged to the fair category. Keywords: learning device, information communication technology (ICT), critical thinking PERANGKAT PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA BERBASIS MASALAH TERINTEGRASI ICT UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA SMP KOTA MEDAN Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah terintegrasi dengan ICT untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP. Penelitian menggunakan model pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model 4-D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pengamatan proses pembelajaran dan aktivitas siswa, angket respon siswa, dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri atas bahan ajar matematika sebagai buku pegangan guru berbasis masalah yang terintegrasi dengan ICT disertai RPP, LKS, dan media pembelajaran layak digunakan. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba di lapangan, perangkat pembelajaran tersebut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata gain pada dua sekolah dimana sekolah pertama dan kedua didapat rentang g 0,7 yang artinya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan pada sekolah yang ketiga rentang 0,3  g  0,7 yaitu 0,62 yang artinya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan pada kategori sedang. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan minat belajar siswa dengan media komputer program cyberlink power director dan tanpa media komputer pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang terdiri dari 7 kelas. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling yang artinya setiap kelas memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk dijadikan sampel penelitian, diperoleh kelas VIII1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII3  sebagai kelas kontrol masing - masing yang berjumlah 30  siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata – rata pretes  1,989 dan postes 2,879. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai rata – rata pretes 1,985  dan postes 2,392. Dimana data kedua kelompok berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji t, dengan  α = 0,05. Untuk pretes siswa diperoleh t = 0,05  sedangkan t1-1/2α = 2,018, terlihat bahwa -t1-1/2α <t < t1-1/2α sehingga Ho diterima yaitu tidak ada perbedan minat belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pada postes hasil belajar siswa diperoleh t = 5,57 sedangkan t1-1/2α = 2,018 dengan t > t1-1/2α sehingga Ha diterima yaitu ada perbedan minat belajar siswa dengan  menggunakan media komputer program Cyberlink Power Director dan tanpa menggunakan media komputer  pada pokok bahasan kubus dan balok  di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa minat belajar kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media komputer program Cyberlink Power Director lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan minat belajar pada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan media komputer  dengan presentase peningkatan sebesar 20,36 %. Kata Kunci : Minat Belajar, Media Komputer program cyberlink power director

Abstract

The objective of this study is to developing teaching materials of comic form and student worksheets of flat-shape structure material for third grade students of elementary school 060843 with Realistic Mathematics Education. This research is a Research & Development (R & D), Van den Akker models (1999). The samples in this study were 40 third-grade students, for every I and II trials. The result of this study showing  that comics, student’s worksheet, and the learning outcomes tests was valid and excellent. The improvement of learning outcomes of students occurred very well.  The mean score result on first initial trial test before using the developed teaching materials was 64,25, and then on the final test after using the developed teaching   material the mean score was 87,88. On the second trial test, the mean score on the initial test was 64,13, while on the final test the mean score was 88,38. Based on the observation of teacher’s activities, students, teacher’s impressions , student’s responses, and the student’s  teaching outcomes that including completeness of objective and classical, then the implementation of comics and student’s worksheet with Realistic Mathematics Education could be declared effective and excellent.

Abstract

Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model awal bahan ajar matematika berbasis masalah terintegrasi ICT berikut perangkat pembelajarannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran model 4-D Thiagarajan, dkk. Data yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil pengamatan dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang diterapkan serta skor tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Dengan demikian instrumen yang digunakan adalah format pengamatan, angket respon siswa dan tes. Teknik analisa data pada penelitian tahap ini adalah (1) analisis data hasil validasi ahli terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar dan perangkat pembelajarannya (2) analisis data respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran, pengamatan pada proses dan aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran (3) analisis data tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berupa validasidan reliabilitas tes serta validasi isi oleh validator. Hasil penelitian berupa model awal perangkat pembelajaran yaitu RPP, buku pegangan guru (bahan ajar), lembar aktivitas siswa dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika yang telah valid oleh para ahli yaitu 3 orang dosen di jurusan matematika unimed. Instrumen yang diperoleh terdiri dari tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, angket respon siswa, format pengamatan proses pembelajaran dan format aktivitas siswa.

Abstract

Innovation of teaching to improved the student college’s achievement inthe teaching of Mathematic is explained. The research was aimed to investigate theeffectifity of various, innovated teaching models to improved the student’sachievement in various topic in Mathematic. The study was conduct experimentlyby using innovated teaching with “contextual” and “media”, which are thecompared with conventional teaching method. The result showed the innovation inthe teaching by using media and computer were found very effective and improvingthe ability of the student to understand the concept of mathematic. Studentachievement in the teaching of English Mathematic with the aid of Contextual(X=74,10) was found higher the teaching the same topic by using Conventionalmethod. (X=73,33), where the data analysis has shown that two methods aresignificantly differences. Students achievement with another innovated teachingmethod by using of media for the teaching distillation (X=81,33) was found higherthan that with conventional method, where the data analysis has shown that the twomethods were significantly difference.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi yang terus berkembang pesat, kemampuan berpikir logis, analitis, dan kritis menjadi semakin penting untuk dimiliki setiap individu. Pendidikan matematika memiliki peran sentral dalam mengasah kemampuan-kemampuan tersebut, sehingga generasi muda dapat dipersiapkan untuk menghadapi tantangan dan memanfaatkan peluang di masa depan dengan lebih baik. Mengingat perannya yang krusial, penelitian di bidang pendidikan matematika menjadi sangat penting untuk terus dilakukan guna meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini melakukan kajian sistematis terhadap 123 tesis S2 Pendidikan Matematika di Universitas Negeri Medan periode 2020-2023 dengan tujuan mengidentifikasi tren penelitian, mencakup analisis topik utama yang diteliti, perkembangan fokus dari tahun ke tahun, serta metode penelitian yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan topik terbanyak adalah pengembangan model/metode pembelajaran matematika, diikuti analisis kemampuan/keterampilan siswa dalam matematika, dan pengembangan media/teknologi pembelajaran, dengan metode penelitian yang dominan adalah Research and Development (R&D) serta Eksperimentan Research. Teridentifikasi pula pergeseran fokus tahunan seperti peningkatan penelitian pengembangan model/metode pembelajaran pada 2022-2023, mencerminkan komitmen untuk berinovasi, memahami kemampuan siswa secara mendalam, serta mengintegrasikan teknologi di tengah perkembangan zaman dan tuntutan pasar kerja.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant effect of the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model on students' mathematical reasoning and communication skills in the Pythagorean Theorem sub-subject in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Munte in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The population in this study were all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1Munte for the 2019/2020 Academic Year. While the sample in this study consisted of 2 classes of 38 students each in class VIII-1 as the experimental class and class VIII-3 as the control class. The experimental class uses the Group Investigation cooperative learning model consisting of 5 students per group, and the control class uses the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model consisting of 2 students per group. This type of research is an experiment. Prior to testing the hypothesis, the normality and homogeneity tests are tested first. Normality was tested using the Lilliefors technique and homogeneity using the F test. From the tests performed, it was found that both samples were normally distributed and homogeneous. There is a positive and significant influence of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model on the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students. There is a positive and significant influence of the Group Investigation type of cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students because the average communication ability of students who are taught with the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model consisting of 5 people per group is higher than the average communication ability of students who are taught with the Group Investigation type cooperative learning model consisting of 2 people per group

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-concept and learning independence on the understanding of mathematical concepts. This research is a correlational research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study were all 11th grade students at SMA Negeri Medan with the research sample being students of class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as many as 49 students who were taken by random sampling technique. The research instruments used were: Test of understanding mathematical concepts consisting of 8 questions; Self-concept questionnaire with 26 statement items; and Learning independence questionnaire with 27 statement items. The data analysis technique in this research is linear regression. The results and discussion of the research show: 1). Self-concept has a positive and significant effect on understanding of mathematical concepts; 2). Learning independence has a positive and significant effect on understanding of mathematical concepts; 3. Self-concept and learning independence together have a positive and significant effect on understanding mathematical concepts; and 4). The contribution of self-concept and learning independence simultaneously to the understanding of mathematical concepts result is 52,8%, while 47,2% are contributed by other factors.

Abstract

The subjects of this qualitative descriptive research were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Tarutung located in North Tapanuli Regency. The aim of this research is to determine and explain students' mathematical communication abilities when solving problems using Bruner's Theory. The data is in the form of written test results given to students to assess their mathematical communication skills in solving problems using Bruner's Theory. The results of the interview also consist of students' answers to verbal questions given to obtain additional information. Documentation data in the form of pictures and archives of test answers taken by class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Tarutung. Data collection methods include written tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that students' mathematical communication skills when solving problems use Bruner's Theory 43% of students with high mathematical communication skills were able to solve questions correctly and well, while 36% of students with moderate abilities could only meet some indicators, and 21% of students with low abilities could not meet all the indicators.
