Abstract

The information regarding phenotypic performance is very important in rose hybridization and selection program. The aimed of the study was to revael out information on phenotypic performance in order to obtain superior clone from single crossed rose (Rosa hybrida L.).  The thirty genotypes were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replicates and three sub-sampling for individual genotypes.  Observations were made on nine quantitative is panjang tangkai, diameter tangkai, neck length, sum of leaf, jumlah duri, diameter kuncup, diameter bunga mekar, jumlah petal, vase life of flower and one qualitative characters is colour of petal.  The results of the study showed that phenotypic performance of thirty rose clones had significant difference on all observed characters and the clone number of clone 031-04 showed better performance componed to the others, following by clones number 104-05,026-13,104-03 and 100-31 as proporssing clones. Keywords : rose, phenotypic, performance, clone

Abstract

The Vegetation Analize of Ex-Tin Mining Land  in Rebo Village, Bangka This research was conducted by observing a number of interconnected ecological variables with spreading of vegetations on ex-tin mining land, located in Rebo Village, Bangka Regency from May to july 2008.   Vegetation analysis can be utilized to determine types of dominant and pioneer plant  spesies being able to grow in  ex-tin mining land for revegetation.  This analysis indicates that the following pioneer or dominant plant spesies common in the studued are of ex-tin mining land, these are among mengkirai (Commersonia sp), mentenuk (Trema orientalis L), kedebik (Melastoma malabathricum L) and leban (Vitex pinnata L).  These plant spesies were the common one whitin the category of seedling, sapling, pole and tree respectively.  Keywords :Ex-tin mining land,  Revegetation of pioneer plant.

Abstract

There are three channels in marketing of mustard at the farmer group of Sepakat Maju in Balun Ijuk, Merawang sub district.  First, channel A is from merchant of village trader, then to retailer. Second,  channel B is from merchant of sub district, then to retailer, and channel C is from merchant of district collecting trader,  then to retailer.  The biggest margin in marketing of channel A belongs to the retailer, that is Rp.1.500/kg.   Merchant of village trader is about Rp.1.000/kg, and the smallest one belongs to the district merchant about Rp.500/kg. At channel  B, the biggest margin belongs to a retailer that is Rp.1.500/kg, and the smallest one is for sub district merchant about Rp.1000/kg.  At channel C, the biggest margin belongs to retailer about Rp.2.000/kg and the smallest is district merchant about Rp.1.000/kg.  The most efficient channel in marketing mustard is channel A, belongs to the merchant of district about 0,01.  Efficient channel in marketing mustard is channel A, belongs to the merchant of district about 0,01, artinya semakin angkanya mendekati 0 maka saluran pemasaran tersebut semakin efisien. Keyword : Marketing, Mustard, Bangka.

Abstract

Tin mining activities have been taking place in Bangka Island since early years ago. Impacts of mining operations are decrease in soil physical and chemical properties, changes in land topography, losses of natural vegetations, and diminishing wildlife habitat.  Ex-tin mining land is widely covered by the spread of tailings.  Tin tailings have poor physical and chemical characteristic, soil conditions and unfavourable micro-climate. To reuse ex-tin mining land, especially tailing land, reclaimation and rehabilitation programs be required.  Applications of various ameliorants and technology has been tested to obtain satisfactory results, particularly the addition of organic matters.  A number of specific local plant species including industrial forest tree such as acacia, and  some fruit tree species have been selected for ex-tin mining land revegetation.  In future, research in revegetation technique will be focused on usage of locally potential organic matter for tailing amendment and selection of some revegetation species which are more useful to increase social economic community.     Keywords : tin mining, tailing, revegetation, organic matter

Abstract

This research tried to know the generally condition of tempe production as small industry.  Besides finding out optimum level of tempe production and maximum profit could be obtained by tempe producers , this research also efforted to know the efficiency of small industries of tempe producer.  Field surveys were carried out in two sub regencies of Bangka, namely Kecamatan Sungailiat and Kecamatan Pemali.  Sub regencies were purposively chosen becaused in the locations were found many tempe producers were found and have been in place long time ago.  Primary and secondary data for this research included costs, quantities and price of tempe, and other relevant data.  The results indicated that industries of tempe production were still simply managed.  This condition may be reflected from the by appliances used in tempe production process.  There was no one tempe producers reached the optimum level of tempe production yet.    In this time tempe producers couldn’t obtain maximum profit by only managing their production inputs.  The deficit in quantities of tempe was 34 % than the average optimum tempe production indicated that industries of tempe production didn’t work efficiently yet.  The maximum profit of Rp 7.364.992,- could be obtained tempe producers while quantities by tempe achieved 16.083 batch.     Key words :  Optimalization, Tempe, Production, Bangka, Maximum Profit.

Abstract

Kolowe seed crude extract contain of saponin, triterpenoid, polyphenol and alealoid.  Kolowe seeds were extracted with methanol by maseration, metanol extract was partition with ethil acetat and n-buthanol.  The research to evaluate bactericide and fungicide activity of kolowe seeds crude extract has been done. The activities of bactericide and fungicide potential were tested by hole plate diffusion method. The result shows that the methanol extract may, inhibit the growth of Clavibacter michiganense and Ralstonia solanacearum with the average of inhibition area 11.53 mm and 10.6 mm respectively.  The result also exhibits that methanol extract could inhibit the growth of Alternaria porii with the average of inhibition area 10.4 mm while n-buthanol inhibit Colletotrichum gloesporioides with the average of inhibition area 10.2 mm. Key Words: extract, bactericide, fungicide, kolowe seed, methanol, n-buthanol, etil asetat

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the productivity and adaptability of ten soybean genotypes in red-yellow podzolic soils. The experiment conducted in Balunijuk village, Merawang subdistrict, Bangka on July-October 2010. Experimental design used randomized complete block design with 10 genotypes soybean replicated three times. Tested genotypes consisted of six promising lines (KH 8, KH 9, KH 31, KH 38, KH 55, and KH 71) and 4 national varieties (Slamet, Anjasmoro, Wilis and Tanggamus) as comparison. The results indicated that there were significant differences among genotypes for character plant productivity, seed size, plant height, number of root nodules, effective number of root nodules, number of pods, number of productive branches, and sheer number of seeds. Entire promising lines tested had a larger grain size than the check varieties, and the largest grain size and the highest productivity was obtained in KH 71. Therefore, KH 71 considered more promising to be released as new varieties for red-yellow podzolic soils.

Abstract

Optimization of planlets growth during acclimatization can be done by using plant growth regulator. This research was aimed to know the effect of two foliar fertilizer and benzyladenin on the growth of Phalaenopsis hybrid orchid planlets during acclimatization stage. The treatment was Growmore and Bayfolan as the foliar fertilizer with the various concentrate of benzyladenin (BA) at BA 0 mg/l, BA 15 mg/l and BA 30 mg/l. The results showed that Growmore foliar fertilizer had the better response of plant height and fresh weight plant compared to Bayfolan foliar fertilizer. BA 30 mg/l was increased the leaf number, and BA 15 mg/l and 30 mg/l was decreased root length and fresh weight plant. There was no interaction between foliar fertilizer and benzyladenin on the growth of Phalaenopsis hybrid orchid planlets.

Abstract

Agricultural activities always produce solid waste which originated from residues of livestock and crop. Chicken feathers and banana trunk are waste that have potential to be utilized as compost material. It is due to chicken feathers contains high protein so that it can be used as a source of nitrogen. Meanwhile, banana trunk contains high potassium. Decomposition of compost material needs a lot of time. However, composting can be conducted faster by using microorganisms. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of banana trunk and the effectivity of local microorganism in the decomposition of compost material. This study uses randomized block design factorial with six treatments. First factor is banana trunk (0.5 and 1 kg). The second factor is activator types (EM4, MOL tapai and MOL papaya).The variables were temperature, water content, color, pH, N-total, C-organic, ratio C/N, phospor, and potassium. The result showed that banana trunk was statistically significant to water content, ratio C/N and potassium. Furthermore, the activators did not affect physical and chemical properties of compost.

Abstract

Utilization of waste chicken feather and crab shells as compost material is an alternative to reduce the environmental pollution caused by waste. This research is identify and study the effect of the addition of crab shells during composting of chicken feather in improving the physical and chemical quality compost chicken feather. The composition compost consists of 1.75 kg of chicken feathers  + 0.15 kg of chicken manure + 0.1 kg bran. Treatmentincludesresearch R0 without the addition of crab shells, R1 0,2 kg, R2 0,4 kg, R3 0.6 kg shell crab. This research used a cluster randomized design (RAK) consisting of 4 treatment, which was repeated 3 and each treatment has 3 samples, 36 samples were obtained observations. Observationsonthe observed variableswere analyzedusing theF test. If there is atreatmentthat have areal effect, it willcontinueto usefurthertestingHonestlySignificant Difference(HSD) with a95% confidence level. Physical parameters include is water conten, temperature, and colour of compost. Parameters  chemical  include is N, P, K, Ca, C-Organik, and C/N ratio. The results showedthat theaddition 0.6kg ofcrabshellsonly givethe effectin improving quality pH (7,29%), Ca (6,8%), P (1,16%), N-Total (4,16%). Variablesthat have metquality standardsbySNI19-7030-2004compostisN-total, pH, Ca, C-Organic and Phosphorus.
