Abstract

Modification of Dioscorea esculenta and Colocasia esculenta starch through NaOH-Etanol was conducted to improve and expand the use of this starch in instant product, especially as binding agent of laksa instant. This study aimed to determine the effect of varying amounts of NaOH on physical characteristics of lesser yam and taro starch. The research was conducted at Agricultural Product Chemical Laboratory, Agricultural Technology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a Split Plot Design with two treatment factors were the types of starch (lesser yam and taro) and varying amounts of NaOH 3 M (0, 3, 6, 9 g). The parameters observed included whiteness level, water solubility, water absorption index, solubility index, and swelling power. The results showed that the type of starch had significantly affected on water absorption index, water solubility, swelling power, solubility index of modified starch. The amount of NaOH had significantly affected on whiteness level, water absorption index. water solubility, swelling power, solubility inde of modified starch. Moreover, the interaction between types of starch and the amount of NaOH had significantly affected on water absorption index, solubility in water, solubility index of modified starch. The best treatment was lesser yam starch with the addition 3 g of NaOH 3M as binding agent.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) determine pepper marketing channels (2) calculate pepper marketing margin (3) calculate pepper farmer share (4) analyze pepper marketing efficiency in Air Gegas Village. The research method used in this research is the survey method. The sampling technique used snowball sampling and the number of samples was 10 farmers and 2 trader collectors. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation and questionnaires. The data analysis method uses qualitative analysis, marketing margin analysis, farmer share analysis and marketing efficiency analysis. The research results show that 1) the marketing channels for pepper in Air Gegas Village are indirect selling and collecting traders as intermediaries. 2). The average marketing margin for pepper in Air Gegas Village is Rp. 4,500/kg. 3). The average farmer share of pepper in Air Gegas Village is 96.4%. 4). The average pepper marketing efficiency in Air Gegas Village is 1.83%.

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the effect of water application to various parts of mustard greens on postharvest weight loss, moisture content, and chlorophyll levels. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments: water applied to leaves, roots, the whole plant, and a control group. Results showed that water application did not significantly impact weight loss, moisture content, or chlorophyll levels. However, watering the roots provided the best results in maintaining plant weight and moisture content. Watering the leaves increased moisture but posed a risk of accelerated decay, while the control group showed the highest weight loss. In conclusion, root watering is the most effective method to maintain postharvest mustard greens quality.

Abstract

Peningkatan pertumbuhan anggrek Dendrobium dapat dilakukan perbanyakan secara kultur in vitro melalui penggunaan media ½ Murashige dan Skoog (MS) dengan penambahan berbagai jenis bahan organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan tunas anggrek Dendrobium dalam media ½ MS dengan penambahan berbagai jenis adenda secara in vitro dan jenis bahan organik mana yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan anggrek Dendrobium secara in vitro. Tunas dikulturkan dalam media ½ MS dengan tambahan pemberian adenda, ekstrak tomat, bubur pisang, ekstrak jeruk, ekstrak buah naga dan ekstrak jagung manis. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dan dilakukan analisis sidik ragam (Anova) dan dilakukan uji lanjut dan uji rerata DMRT (Duncan’s Multiple Range Test) dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penambahan ekstrak jagung manis pada media ½ MS dapat meningkatkan persentase pertumbuhan tunas, tinggi tunas dan pertumbuhan jumlah daun pada tunas anggrek Dendrobium sp. Ekstrak jagung manis merupakan bahan organik tambahan yang terbaik dalam perbanyakan tanaman anggrek Dendrobium sp. secara kultur in vitro.

Abstract

This study aims to describe consumer perceptions of image in the market and describe the level of consumer perceptions of price, service, product quality and physical environment on consumer satisfaction in the Ratu Tunggal traditional market in Pangkalpinang city. The research method used is the survey method. The sampling method used is Accidental Sampling with a sample size of 100 consumers. The data analysis method uses descriptive qualitative using a Likert scale. The results showed that the price of the products offered varied, affordable, cheaper than modern markets with appropriate quality. The services provided are personal, polite, friendly and patient and provide a comfortable atmosphere so that consumers are comfortable shopping. The quality of the products is diverse, not inferior in quality to the modern market and the prices offered are comparable, has a parking lot, several parking attendants, public toilets, and has large buildings that can be rented out. Then the level of consumer perception of the satisfaction of prices, services, product quality and the physical environment in Pasar Ratu Tunggal is very satisfied
