Abstract

The industrial revolution has changed the pattern of development of the world economy gradually. Western management philosophies and perspectives are thought to dominate around the world. While the eastern philosophy that has existed for about 2,500 years such as Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism is only given a very limited attention and appreciation. However, over time business practices in China have proved that the perfect combination of Western management ideas and traditional Chinese culture has made the Chinese business model so dynamic that it is becoming widely used in the world. One of the core concepts of Chinese Taoist philosophy that is most familiar with western thinking is Yin Yang. This philosophy provides an insight into a statement that seems to contradict popular opinion. However, in the midst of complex needs and tight competition to meet today's business needs, Yin-Yang's principle of balance is an important guide to solving existing problems. The research method used is applied research because this research is useful to solve the problem problems according to the selected research object. The purpose of this study is exploratory research where this research will explain the implementation of control management based on Yin Yang philosophy in solving business problems on the object of research.

Abstract

Abstract - This research will discuss about how to improve understanding about the role of leadership style and also management control system to employee loyalty . This study uses the object of a swayalan business located in Blitar.. This research wants to show that the leadership style of a boss and management control system are mutually related to each other and support each other in realizing and creating employee loyalty. If the leadership style is in good shape then it can establish a good management system as well as effective control so that later will provide comfort for employees so as to create employee loyalty will be further increased

Abstract

Leader is a very important figure of the future for a company. The existence of a company's vision and mission of a leader will affect the success of an organization. If one of the visions can not be realized, the company will experience an unwanted obstacle due to wrong consideration of a decision taken from a leader. So, the role of a leader plays a very strong role where with the support of the values of Confucian ethics are insipirational against the progress of a company. But a company needs other resources to lead to the success of employees. Human resources can consist of various generations, especially from generations X and Y which this generation has its own uniqueness in doing a job for the achievement of corporate goals. Many differences in thinking and characteristics in the company can cause potential to develop and can cause misunderstandings that cause the organization to run smoothly. Therefore, the control of management needed in controlling organizational behavior so that the company's vision and mission can be achieved. Control systems that used in UD. Setia Hati are personnel and culture control. Both are behavior controls against the individual himself and between employees so that behave in accordance with the desire of the company. This research is qualitative by taking UD Setia Hati's research object. UD. Setia Hati is a business entity providing party equipment. It is focused on knowing Confucian ethics in the leadership style that influences the personnel and culture control in order to improve the quality of employees in the company.

Abstract

Implementation of levers of controlhas an influence on organizational performance. The purpose of this research is to know the role of levers of control in order to improve organizational performance in a television industry. This research uses qualitative approach and done by using data collecting technique, interview, observation and also document analysis. The object used in this research is a business entity engaged in the industry of television in East Java. The results of the analysis and discussion show with the application of good levers of control can improve the performance of the organization and bring the business into a better direction. As expressed by Widener (2007) that by integrating the four existing systems, belief system, boundary system, diagnostic control system, and interactive control system, the business strategy can be achieved. Belief systems and interactive control systems motivate members of an organization to seek opportunities for space in more creative, broader way and to be translated as positive energy. Otherwise, to align the positive energy, boundary system and diagnostic control system are used to limit behavior and divert attention translated as negative energy.

Abstract

Public accountant is one of some career option for students majoring in accounting after completing their education. A public accountant is a profession that plays an important role for the business and economic, and also has a great responsibility to public. This study aims to determine the perceptions of students majoring in Accounting at University of Surabaya to public accountantprofession and their interests and considerations to decide their career as a public accountant. The object of this research is the students of year class 2014 and 2015 who have been at the final gradeof S1 Accounting major at University of Surabaya. In this study, the authors use qualitative research methods with an interpretive research paradigm. For data collection in this research is done through interview, observation, and document analysis. The results showed that students majoring Accounting at the University of Surabaya have positive and negative perceptions of the public accountant profession. The difference of perception is influenced by various factors both internal and external. Such perceptions also affect the interest of students to decide their career as public accountant. The result of the research shows that there is a considerable interest from University of Surabaya Accounting major students to the publicaccountant profession.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the lingkages leadership style and formal control to resolve employee motivational problem in family business using the form explanatory research. Motivated by the dissatisfaction of factory employees to the policy of the family business entity causing the decrease of work motivation of employees, leader as a change agent is expected to be someone who can bring change by influencing others to do something including to control employee motivation. Based on these thoughts, this research considered as an interesting research. This type of research is applied research with qualitative approach method. This research trying to give recommendations with formal controls that have not been effectively and fullyapplied by looking at the leadership style so the employee motivational problem can be solved. The results showed that leaders in the business entity has the type of transformational leadership. Thisstudy also show that employees who work at the factory having problem of motivation caused by job dissatisfaction related to hygiene factors from Herzberg theory as working condition, technical supervision, pay, company policy and administration, and status. Therefore, the required action control and result control in order to adjustindividual goals and objectives of the business entity.

Abstract

This research aims to provide an overview for real associated of how the implementaion of the big five personality traits to improving the innovative behavior of accounting staff in the workplace . From the research, it can be proven that personality traits of accounting staff have an influence on innovative behavior, so that through this research can be known how to improve the innovative behavior of accounting staff in accordance with their personality traits, to improve the quality of existing services in business entities and to achieve organizational business goals.This type of research is applied research with a qualitative approach. This researchattempts to provide recommendations on how to improve the innovative behavior of accounting staff according to their personality traits.

Abstract

Spiritual Intelligence can influence a person's decision making. The purpose of this research is to know the role of Spiritual Intelligence toward tax compliance on small, medium business owner. This research uses qualitative approach. This study was conducted using interviu method, observation, and data analysis. Objects used in this research is business entity engaged in rice milling in Jember. The results of the analysis and discussion show that spiritual intelligence plays a role in the tax compliance carried out by business entities, but not all points in spiritual intelligence proposed by Zohar & Marshall (2000) play a role in tax compliance, self awareness, vision and value led, field independent, and humility that plays role in tax compliance. Spiritual intelligence will be oriented to the public interest and bravely against the flow of non tax compliance so that those with high spiritual intelligence will obey taxes. There are other factors that affect the tax compliance in UD. H. Not feeling the benefits of tax payments and distrust of government giving influence to owners. Mrs. L do not want to play a role in the public interest and this makes the humility points on testing intelligence spirituality not being met.

Abstract

Continuous improvement is one of managerial accounting concept that is focused on increasing quality by reducing waste through effeciency and effectiveness. Continuous improvement is set by company as a principle to sustained a competitive advantage by implementing continous improvement as a company's core principle. PT HM Sampoerna Tbk is one of the company that implement continous improvement as company's core principle. Sampoerna continuously improve for their “Three Hands Phylosophy” that's for adult smokers, employee and business partners, and society at large. Specifically for their employees that's believed as company's key of success, Sampoerna give their employees a feedback by continuously make a program to success work-life balance. Work-life balance is defined as a situation in which workers feel that they are capable on balancing their works and non-work commitments. With the complexities and higher mobility in MNC, work-life balance considers as one of workers challenge nowadays.

Abstract

This research describes the impact resulting from the implementation of management control system, especially personnel and cultural control based on spiritualityon employee performance. In this study use hotel F located in Surabaya. This research uses qualitative approach with several data searching method that is interview, observation and document analysis, conducted for 4 months from August to November 2017. The results of this study indicate that with the value of spirituality in personnel and cultural control can give a positive impact on the performance of employees and business entities themselves. In this study also explains the recommendations that can beused by business entities to overcome the advantages and weaknesses in applying personnel and cultural control through the addition of values based on the spirituality of personnel and cultural control applied by business entities.
