Abstract

When mentioning the remote phosphor structure, the most noticeable advantage is its higher luminous flux than any other structure’s. However, there are existing flaws in their color uniformity and color rendering index (CRI). Thus, the improvements in these two optic factors must be improved for the better usage of remote phosphor geometry in modern WLED devices. Many researchers have drawn their attention to this idea, and then it has become the primary objective for their studies. In this paper, we also try to accomplish the same result by adjusting the distances between the phosphor layers and through that enhance the optical properties of WLEDs. The mie-scattering theory is applied in our calculations to ensure the reliability and accuracy of experimental results. In our research, with distance d = 0.64 mm, the luminous flux grew 9.7% in comparison to the original value. At 0.84 mm, the distance d enhanced the color uniformity by two times. In the meantime, the CRI remained static during the course of experiment. With suitable application, these results can bring valuable contributions to the development of next WELDs generation.

Abstract

The objective of this research is sound effect for brackish water for Sea bass (Cynoscion nobilis). Breeding farm 25x100m, 2m of depth, and 6 paddle wheels which generate the sound are available for research. Sound profile has been measured to investigate the amplitude at various measurement points at various depths by using Cetacean hydrophone C304. The output of hydrophone has been analyzed by using SpectraPlus software. For the second measurement, two cages which size 3x3m have been used for life fish habitat. Then, fish put in the edge cage (20), center cage (20), and out of cage (12500). Sound profile has been measured for position-based (edge/center cage), time-based (morning/noon/evening), and point-based. Time series, spectrum frequency, and phase have been analysis. Fish growth progress has been monthly measured at every cage. Fish in the cage is growth as linearly, while fish growth for out of cage is exponentially. Size and weight of fish in the both cages is less than out of cage. This research concludes that sound have no significantly effect for fish growth. Limited mobility to look for food and stress are more influences to fish growth than sound effect.

Abstract

Electrical power system (EPS) operation always follows load changes which occur within time. Load changes and disturbances cause EPS operation to find a new balance point and before can reach the new balance point, the rotor speed will swing around its synchronous speed. This phenomenon causes the stability of the EPS operation decrease significantly, moreover, when the disturbance is large the machine tend to become unstable. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to add a power system stabilizer (PSS). This research proposes ANFIS-PSS based on feedback-linearization to stabilize the EPS operation. Feedback-linearization is a nonlinear control technique which feedback and limits several outputs in order to make the nonlinear system acts as a linear system. Data from conventional PSS is used to train and to update ANFIS-PSS parameters. Simulation results show an improvement of the stability of single machine model such as decreasing in maximum magnitude of rotor speed at the value of 0.466 rad/s and to reduce the time settling to 5.6 s.

Abstract

Defuzifikasi dilakukan dengan metoda center of gravity (COG).

Abstract

A monitoring system for geological archives with TCP/IP network communication is designed in this research to address wide distribution range, long distance, slow data updating, and difficult maintenance of city and county geological archives. The designed system uses the single chip STC11F32XE and the Ethernet control chip RTL8019AS as a hardware platform. The hardware design scheme, software design method, and the main programming flowchart of the geological archive monitoring unit were presented, and a specific data test was carried out. This monitoring system not only monitors and controls temperature, humidity, ponding, power supply, and other environmental data in geological archives, but also realizes geological data transmission between city (county) and provincial geological archives. In addition, this system is designed with a GSM warning mechanism, which could accelerate the quick response mechanism of the system. The entire monitoring system is accessed through the provincial environmental resources website with a fixed IP address. To ensure standardization of the monitoring system, the data transmission standard of the application layer used the associated standards of the Ministry of National Land and Resources. The entire system design improves the storage environment of the geological data effectively. It provides important data support to solve inconsistencies between provincial and city (county) geological data, as well as ensures scientific management of geological issues.

Abstract

This paper introduces a robot collision avoidance method using Kinect and global vision to improve the industrial robot’s security. Global vision is installed above the robot, and a combination of the background-difference method and the Otsu algorithm are used. Human skeleton detection is then introduced to detect the location information of the human body. The collided objects are classified into nonhuman and human obstacle which is further categorized into the human head and non-head areas such as the arm. The Kalman filter is used to predict the human gesture. The human joints danger index is used to evaluate the risk level of the human on the basis of human body joints and robot’s motion information. Finally, a motion control strategy is adopted in view of obstacle categories and the human joint danger index. Results show that the proposed method can effectively improve robot’s security in real time.

Abstract

In this paper a new dual-band uniplanar monopole antenna fed by Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) line is proposed for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. The antenna structure includes a CPW fed line and the dual-band operation is achieved from the G-shaped folded antenna. The antenna parameters have been investigated and optimized by using CST Microwave Studio. To validate the CST Microwave Studio results before the antenna achievement, we have conducted another study by using ADS. The final circuit was achieved, measured and validated. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna with compact size of 30*45 mm2 is simple in design and compact in size. It exhibits broadband impedance matching, consistent omnidirectional radiation patterns and appropriate gain characteristics suitable for the microwave RFID applicartions.

Abstract

Effort estimation becomes a crucial part in software development process because false effort estimation result can lead to delayed project and affect the successful of a project. This research proposes a model of effort estimation for web-based mobile application developed using object oriented approach. In the proposed model, functional size measurement of object oriented based web application named OOmFPWeb, web metric and mobile characteristic for web-based mobile application size measurement are combnined. The estimation process is done by using mamdani fuzzy logic method. To evaluate the proposed model, the comparison between OOmFPWeb as the variable that affect effort estimation for web-based mobile application and the proposed model are performed. The evaluation result shows that effort estimation for web-based mobile application with the proposed model is better than just using OOmFPWeb.

Abstract

The importance of an optimal method for electric power transmission is crucial for ROV operation. Meanwhile, only few studies have shown the effect of electrical power system from power supply to ROV.This paper proposes a design and implementation of electrical power system for ROV that developed by Tech_SAS team from Telkom University, Bandung, Indonesia. This work aims to obtain the optimal power system to supply ROV’s electrical and electronic components. Tech_SAS ROV is developed to compete on 1st and 2nd ASEAN MATE Underwater Robotic Competition. The system has demonstrated that 48V electric voltage can be transmitted to ROV with negligible voltage drop when using 20 meter 12AWG cable. The voltage is converted to 12V using DC-DC converter in order to supply various ROV’s electronic devices ROV safely and efficiently. Meanwhile, the microcontroller was used to as thrust control to manage current flow to DC motor. The system has been evaluated and demonstrates optimal results and provides a design consideration about ROV’s power system especially on tether cable and power distribution scheme.
