This paper presents a non-linear optimization algorithm for alleviation of under-voltage and over-voltage conditions in the day-to-day operation of power networks. Voltage control for varying load and generation conditions can be achieved by coordinated control of switchable shunt VAR compensating (SVC) devices, on load transformer taps (OLTC) and generators excitation. The proposed algorithm for voltage control uses a non-linear least square minimization technique. Results obtained for 6-Bus Ward-Hale system and a modified IEEE 30-Bus system are presented for illustration purposes.

The reliability of satellite data communication can be enhanced by designing two subsystems involving data communication among subsystem and data communication between satellie and Ground Station (GS). In this paper, Error Control Coding (ECC) is applied in satellite data communication with Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) method. Further, bit error checking uses the calculation of 15 bit Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) Controller Area Network (CAN) standard. The calculation of CRC is attached in CAN frame over IP communication protocol between primary OBC and secondary OBC. OBC is designed by implementing Triple Modular Redundant system on a Linux-based operating system. The CAN frame over IP simulation with manual input is found to correct all corrupted data. When the simulation uses NetEM, the system corrects 100 % data with 0-10 % value of corruption with maximum time transfer of 84.472 seconds. ION DTN is also found to correct all corrupted data with values from 0 to 2 % and maximum delay at an altitude of 50,000 kilometer orbit using NetEm for TMTC mission. The testing results show that the system will keep carrying out its mission as long as a fault does not occur on all three OBC at the same time.

This paper presents the trajectory tracking problem of a unicycle-type mobile robots. A robust output tracking controller for nonlinear systems in the presence of disturbances is proposed, the approach is based on the combination of integral action and Backstepping technique to compensate for the dynamic disturbances. For desired trajectory, the values of the linear and angular velocities of the robot are assured by the kinematic controller. The control law guarantees stability of the robot by using the lyapunov theorem. The simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the designed trajectory tracking control.

The development of this application has a goal to give people who don’t have any idea of how to keep an ideal body weight and to maintain it by having controlled food intakes and exercises. This application is designed by using a Waterfall Model, a 5-phase model that is Communication, Planning, Modeling, Construction, and Deployment starting from as the aforementioned steps. Based on the responds we get from distributing questionnaire, many people didn’t know how to exercise properly and didn’t bother to check the calories of their food. Their weight is also a problem because most of them still have an Overweight or Underweight status. From those responds, we can conclude that our application will indeed help people to get and maintain their ideal body weight.

The purpose of this paper was to discover an anomalous-free business process model from event logs. The process discovery was conducted using a graph database, specifically using Neo4J tool involving trace clustering and data filtering processes. We also developed a control-flow pattern to address, AND relation between activities named parallel business process. The result showed that the proposed method improved the precision value of the generated business process model from 0.64 to 0.81 compared to the existing algorithm. The better outcome is constructed by applying trace clustering and data filtering to remove the anomaly on the event log as well as discovering parallel (AND) relation between activities.

Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) gas owns remarkable properties as insulation medium and current interrupter, which make it being widely used in gas-insulated equipment up to now. However, SF6 gas has a drawback that gives adverse effect to the environment since it is a strong greenhouse gas. As the effort to minimize the SF6 usage, this study was conducted to investigate the AC breakdown behavior of SF6/N2 gas mixtures with 10/90 ratio at low pressure levels (i.e. 0.11 MPa to 0.15 MPa) under non uniform field (i.e. R0.5-plane and R6-plane electrodes configurations). The results of the study indicate that the breakdown voltage of SF6/N2 gas mixtures in non-uniform field increases linearly with the increase of gas pressure and electrodes gap distance. As a function of gap distance, a higher increasing rate of breakdown voltage values were achieved at lowest pressure of 0.11 MPa compared to other pressure levels. In addition, it is also found that a higher breakdown voltage values was obtained under R6-plane configuration. But, the difference in breakdown voltage values between R0.5-plane and R6-plane configuration is less significant as the gap distance is increased. It is also observed that the field efficiency factor of R6-plane is higher than R0.5-plane which indicates a more uniform field exists between the electrodes.

Moving object detection becomes the important task in the video surveilance system. Defining the threshold automatically is challenging to differentiate the moving object from the background within a video. This study proposes gaussian mixture model (GMM) as a threshold strategy in moving object detection. The performance of the proposed method is compared to the Otsu algorithm and gray threshold as the baseline method using mean square error (MSE) and Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR). The performance comparison of the methods is evaluated on human video dataset. The average result of MSE value GMM is 257.18, Otsu is 595.36 and Gray is 645.39, so the MSE value is lower than Otsu and Gray threshold. The average result of PSNR value GMM is 24.71, Otsu is 20.66 and Gray is 19.35, so the PSNR value is higher than Otsu and Gray threshold. The performance of the proposed method outperforms the baseline method in term of error detection.

The land registry system is one of the very important department in any governance system that stores the records of land ownership. There are various issues and loopholes in the existing system that give rise to corruption and disputes. This requires a significant chunk of valuable government resources from judiciary and law enforcement agencies in settling these issues. Blockchain technology has the potential to counter these loopholes and sort out the issues related with land registry system like tempering of records, trading of the same piece of land to more than one buyer. In this paper, a secure and reliable framework for land registry system using Blockchain has been proposed. The proposed framework uses the concept of smart contract at various stages of the land registry and gives an algorithm for pre-agreement. First, we describe the conventional land registry system and reviews the issues in it. Then, we outline the potential benefits of employing Blockchain technology in the land registry system and presented a framework. Finally, a number of case studies are presented.
