The precision positioning systems generally need a good controller to achieve a fast response, high accuracy and robustness. In addition, ease, simplicity of controller design structure and high motion control performance are very important for practical applications. For satisfying these requirements, nominal characteristic trajectory (NCT) with proportional integral (PI) and notch filter (NF) as a compensator has been proposed as a practical control method for two-mass rotary PTP positioning systems. However, the effect of the actuator saturation cannot be completely compensated due to integrator windup when the object parameter varies. This paper presents a method to further improve nominal characteristic trajectory following (NCTF) controller to overcome the problem of integrator windup by adopting PI anti-windup schemes. The improved NCTF controller is evaluated experimentally using two-mass rotary positioning systems. The effect of the design parameters on the robustness of the improved NCTF with anti-windup integrator controller is evaluated and compared with NCTF without anti-windup integrator and the equivalent PID controller. The results show that the improved NCTF controller is effective to compensate the effect of integrator windup.

This paper presents another circuit configuration of single-phase hybrid five-level voltage-source inverter obtained from the H-bridge inverter and DC-voltage modules. Some features are achieved by using the proposed inverter configuration such as its modular structure and minimum number of the power devices required to construct the inverter circuits. The proposed five-level inverter circuit is examined through computer simulation using PSIM software. Furthermore, laboratory experimental tests were also performed to verify the prototype of the proposed five-level inverter circuits. The computer simulation and experimental test results shows that the proposed hybrid five-level voltage source inverter works properly to generate a five-level voltage waveform and sinusoidal current with low harmonics contents.

For some kinds of products, the consumers have strict requirements to the reliability of these products in the based warranty period. Then the manufacturer is inclined to provide the two-dimensional preventive maintenance policy to take the usage degree of the product into account. As a result, two-dimensional preventive maintenance policy in the warranty period has recently obtained increasing attention from manufacturers and consumers. In this paper, we focused on the optimization of based warranty cost and proposed a new expected based warranty cost model considering the two-dimensional imperfect preventive maintenance policy from the perspective of the manufacture. Asymmetric copula function was applied to modeling the failure function of the product. And the optimal two-dimensional preventive maintenance period was obtained by minimizing based warranty cost. At last, numerical examples are given to illustrate the proposed models, of which the results prove the model effective and validate.

Network traffic distribution is heavy-tailed. Most of network flows are short and carry very few packets, and the number of large flows is small. Traditional random sampling tends to sample more large flows than short ones. However, many applications depend on per-flow traffic other than just large flows. A flow fair sampling based on multistage Bloom filters is proposed. The total measurement interval is divided into n child time intervals. In each child time interval, employ multistage Bloom filters to query the incoming packet’s flow whether exists in flow information table or not, if exists, sample the packet with static sampling rate which is inversely proportional to the estimation flow traffic up to the previous time interval. If it is a new flow’s first packet, create its flow information and insert it into the multistage Bloom filters. The results show that the proposed algorithm is accurate especially for short flows and easy to extend.

Grouping web transactions into some clusters are essential to gain a better understanding the behavior of the users, which e-commerce companies widely use this grouping process. Therefore, clustering web transaction is important even though it is challenging data mining issue. The problems arise because there is uncertainty when forming clusters. Clustering web user transaction has used the rough set theory for managing uncertainty in the clustering process. However, it suffers from high computational complexity and low cluster purity. In this study, we propose a soft set-based co-occurrence for clustering web user transactions. Unlike rough set approach that uses similarity approach, the novelty of this approach uses a co-occurrence approach of soft set theory. We compare the proposed approach and rough set approaches regarding computational complexity and cluster purity. The result demonstrates better performance and is more effective so that lower computational complexity is achieved with the improvement more than 100% and cluster purity is higher as compared to two previous rough set-based approaches.

The coconut fruits is very useful to be processed into cooking oil and it can meet the needs of cooking for Indonesia people, But before the coconuts processed into oil, The coconuts should be dried first. Usually the drying process is manually, that is dried in the sun. Unfortunately this way is not hygienic and can’t be done continuously, causing the coconut fungus overgrow. This paper proposes methode to solve the problem above. This research makes the dryer coconut fruitssystem by using the heater.Dryer system used for dry some coconut fruits that must be reduced the water content up to 5%, this dry coconutis called copra. System requires heater which will be regulated the temperature. Heater temperature setting is done by adjusting the heater supply voltage, and this is the task of ac to ac voltage controller. Ac to ac voltage controller is a circuit converter is capable converting ac voltage with value 220 Vrms at 50 Hz frequency and have waveform pure sinusoidal become ac voltage frequency at 50 Hz with an output voltage suitable with our need but the voltage waveform not impure sinusoidal or defective as a result firing angle effects. The output voltage which we set determines the value of the heater temperature. The output voltage is set from the firing angle of the triac component using the addition and decreasing angle values. Based on the results of experiments that have been done, if the drying chamber which has volume 135.2 liters and the temperature regulated at 700 C then the heater with a power requirement of 400 W should receive supply 216 V from ac to ac voltage controller. So the triac of ac to ac voltage controller fired on 0.55 radians so that the to ac voltage controller that gets 220 V input voltage can produce 216 V output voltage.

It is expected that in the next decade, majority of world population will be living in cities. Better public services and infrastructures in the city are needed to cope with the booming population. City vehicles that cruising for parking have indirectly causing traffic, making one harder to travel around the city. Thus, a smart parking system can certainly lays the foundation to build a smart city. This paper proposed a cost-effective IoT smart parking system to monitor city parking space and provide real-time parking information to drivers. Moreover, instead of the conventional approach that uses embedded sensors to detect vehicles in the parking area, camera image and machine vision technology are used to obtain the parking status. In the prototype, twenty outdoor parking lots are covered using a 5 megapixel camera connected to Raspberry Pi 3 installed at the 5th floor of the nearby building. Machine vision in this project that involved motion tracking and Canny edge detection are programmed in Python 2 using OpenCV technology. Corresponding data is uploaded to an IoT platform called Ubidots for possible monitoring activity. An Android mobile application is designed for user to download real-time data of parking information. This paper introduces a low cost smart parking system with the overall detection accuracy of 96.40%. Also, the mobile application allows users to alert other car owners for any emergency incidents and double parking blockage. The developed system can provide a platform for users to search for empty car parking with ease and reduce the traffic issues such as illegal double parking especially in the urban area.

Photovoltaic (PV) is a renewable electric energy generator that utilizes solar energy. PV is very suitable to be developed in Surabaya, Indonesia. Because Indonesia is located around the equator which has 2 seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season in Indonesia occurs in April to September. The power generated by PV is highly dependent on temperature and solar radiation. Therefore, accurate forecasting of short-term PV power is important for system reliability and large-scale PV development to overcome the power generated by intermittent PV. This paper proposes the Jordan recurrent neural network (JRNN) to predict short-term PV power based on temperature and solar radiation. JRNN is the development of artificial neural networks (ANN) that have feedback at each output of each layer. The samples of temperature and solar radiation were obtained from April until September in Surabaya. From the results of the training simulation, the mean square error (MSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) values were obtained at 1.3311 and 34.8820, respectively. The results of testing simulation, MSE and MAPE values were obtained at 0.9858 and 1.3311, with a time of 4.591204. The forecasting has minimized significant errors and short processing times.

Development of optical waveguide resonators have greatly expanded and continues to grow since they have kinds potential applications such as wavelength filtering, switching, coupling and multiplexing. One of resonators, coupled waveguides, ring resonators are designed and operated using various coupling configurations. Ring resonators can be particularly used as wavelength filter if the wavelength can fit a whole multiple time in the circumference of the ring. This article proposes to investigate the transmission spectra from the power source and amplify it in linearized ring resonator configurations and varies the input amplitude on five different wavelengths. With finite difference time domain method, the geometry and power source are simulated to obtain the better result and configuration. The results show the intensity phenomena of filtering in optical circuit.
