The industrial requirements for the control of an Induction Motor (IM) under fault conditions continue to be of attention, as evidenced by the majority current publications. The focus is on developments of control methods which can be used for faulty IM. A novel vector control technique based on Stator Field-Oriented Control (SFOC) for a 3-phase IM under open-phase fault is proposed in this paper. MATLAB simulation results are presented to illustrate the improvement in performance of the proposed algorithm.

Currently, the fuzzy c-means algorithm plays a certain role in remote sensing image classification. However, it is easy to fall into local optimal solution, which leads to poor classification. In order to improve the accuracy of classification, this paper, based on the improved marked watershed segmentation, puts forward a fuzzy c-means clustering optimization algorithm. Because the watershed segmentation and fuzzy c-means clustering are sensitive to the noise of the image, this paper uses the adaptive median filtering algorithm to eliminate the noise information. During this process, the classification numbers and initial cluster centers of fuzzy c-means are determined by the result of the fuzzy similar relation clustering. Through a series of comparative simulation experiments, the results show that the method proposed in this paper is more accurate than the ISODATA method, and it is a feasible training method.

Personalization is an alternative to improve the learning process for an e-Learning environment. It is a useful strategy to adjust the student' needs based on their characteristics to make learning more effectively. In this study, we propose the step-function approach for personalization in e-learning. It provides the students with adopting the knowledge-ability factor (Novice, Average, or Good category) that matches with their learning materials levels (Level1, Level2, or Level3). The approach implemented into an e-learning which called SCELE-PDE and used as the experimental group in two stages with different scenarios. In the first, without a step-function approach, but the SCELE-PDE can identify an initial of student's ability to knowledge category. The second stage has used the approach to providing students with personalization in e-Learning to adapt learning material based on a knowledge category. As a result, the step-function approach has successfully to improve the student performance in the learning process during the course. Thus, the approach has shown an increase in the level of students’ knowledge. So, it can be used as a guide when designing an e-learning personalization for students to enhance learning and achievement.

Information and promotion became necessary for tourists to get also improve their knowledge of tourism and their experiences about the tourist destination. Dieng tourist area had manytourist attractions and would be styled to be promoted at the world level tourism by Central Java government in Indonesia, but tourist information and promotional media not yet structured and interactive, as well as the need of media that can provide knowledge, experience for tourists with packaged in an interactive and interesting way. The purpose of this research is to produce Augmented Reality application that could visualize information of Dieng tourism objects, as an interactive, interesting information and tourism promotional media. The user would get information about every tourist attraction in Dieng through the augmented reality application that contains many contents about the sites by scanned Natural Marker that already exist in every Dieng tourist attraction sites with his smartphone.

This paper proposes an effectively modified firefly algorithm (EMFA) for searching optimal solution of economic load dispatch (ELD) problem. The proposed method is developed by improving the procedure of new solution generation of conventional firefly algorithm (FA). The performance of EMFA is compared to FA variants and other existing methods by testing on four different systems with different types of objective function and constraints. The comparison indicates that the proposed method can reach better optimal solutions than other FA variants and most other existing methods with lower population and lower maximum iteration. As a result, it can lead to a conclusion that the proposed method is potential for ELD problem.

In this research paper, substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) was proposed as a technique by realizing bilateral edge walls to produce a compact 5G beam-steering antenna at 24 GHz. The beam forming network is produced using SIW directional coupler perform as 2×2 Butler Matrix (BM) fed with SIW slotted waveguide antenna array. The output signal is steered from -29 degrees and +29 degrees when the signal is fed to the respective input ports. If one of the input ports is fed, the signal is evenly distributed between the adjacent output ports with 90 degree constant phase shift. The compact size of directional coupler was designed by longitude slots on the surface of SIW substrate with bandwith of 16.85% at the operating frequency. The proposed antenna produce gain of 6.34 dB at operating frequency and the promising outcome of the beam steering make proposed design suitable for 5G communications especially with tracking capabilities.

The growth of the internet and digital data has resulted forgery, modification and sharing of digital data without property rights. Audio watermarking is one of a solution to protect the copyright of an audio from copyright infringement. This paper proposes an audio watermarking method which is robust against attacks and high capacity. First, a synchronization bit is added to the audio host. After the audio host is decomposed by Lifting Wavelet Transform (LWT), then choose a subband from the output of LWT to be transformed by discrete cosine transform (DCT). Next, the matrix of the signal from DCT is selected for the singular value decomposition (SVD) process, so that is obtained U, S and V matrix. S matrix is embedded with the watermark. Before the embedding process, the watermark image is compressed by Compressive Sampling. The results show that the proposed watermarking system is highly robust against a kind attack of LPF, resampling, and linear speed change which is proven by its BER is zero.

The advancement of technology, make robots have more attention from researchers to make life of mankind comfortable. This paper deals with the design of an itemized control system prepared for window cleaning/maintenance of towers and multistory buildings which can be aided to simulating human activities. These activities (washing, coating, wiping, climbing, and maintenance events) normally achieved by specialized personal. The designed control system was prepared to guide the units of the required job to move freely along the outside surface of a window with a fairly enough area and mediate time for achieving the desired goal. The system design is implemented using Arduino kit, due to facilities in program and control of cleaning windows through infer the stepper motor movement and rotation. The controller has been achieved as real time system (30 msec.), it is done throw control of three stepper motor by taken in consideration the speed of the motors (π/3000 rad/sec) and the time can be adjustable within the cleaning area that the device covering it.

The Indonesian government has allocated the 3.3-3.4 GHz band, which is adjacent to the extended C-band 3.4-3.7 GHz, for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) services. The country has been using the extended C-band for Fixed Satellite Service (FSS). This research shows the interference potential between the two systems if an adjacent band is allocated for them. Using a clutter loss of 10 dB and site shielding of 40 dB, a BWA network consisting of 57 base-stations will potentially intefere an FSS with probability 56.16% if the protection distance used is 1.55 km. The interference potential will decrease to 0% if the protection distance is increased to 3 km. With a BWA network consisting of 20 base-stations, the interference probability is 10.72% and 0% for a protection distance of 1.55 km and 2 km, respectively. With this interference potential it is urgent that Indonesia enforces interference mitigation techniques to protect FSS from disruptive interference.

This study emphasizes the use of type-2 fuzzy (T2-Fuzzy) to improve the adaptive proportional-integrative-derivative (PID) control in the lower extremities. Several problems were identified from previous studies and those were the slow achievement of the target angle and the presence of oscillation in the achievement of the target blade. The oscillation occurred as the consequence of deploying the early adaptive PID which was not sufficient to overcome the lower extremities nonlinearity. The difference between proposed method of T2-Fuzzy and the others lies in the defuzzification. This research adopts a fast geometric defuzzification that maintains the level of uncertainty T2-Fuzzy in real-time. A functional electrical stimulation (FES) stimulator is proposed to design and to be connected to the computer for processing the T2-Fuzzy. This stimulator stimulates lower extremities of normal subjects each cycle, and the computer record the point of measured achievement of using a goniometer sensors mounted on a knee joint. The results show that the target point of lower extremities is achieved within three initial cycles without oscillations in the achievement of the angle. It is also found that T2-Fuzzy is able to immediately restore the point of achievement when the external parameters of control occur.
