Abstract

This paper proposes the combined methods of Wavelet Transform (WT) and Euclidean Distance (ED) to estimate the expected value of the possibly feature vector of Indonesian syllables. This research aims to find the best properties in effectiveness and efficiency on performing feature extraction of each syllable sound to be applied in the speech recognition systems. This proposed approach which is the state-of-the-art of the previous study consist of three main phase. In the first phase, the speech signal is segmented and normalized. In the second phase, the signal is transformed into frequency domain by using the WT. In the third phase, to estimate the expected feature vector, the ED algorithm is used. Th e result shows the list of features of each syllables can be used for the next research, and some recommendations on the most effective and efficient WT to be used in performing syllable sound recognition.

Abstract

This paper proposes Cognitive Artificial Intelligence (CAI) method for Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) interpretation adopting Doernenburg Ratio method. CAI works based on Knowledge Growing System (KGS) principle and is capable of growing its own knowledge. Data are collected from sensors, but they are not the information itself, and thus, data needs to be processed to extract information. Multiple information are then fused in order to obtain new information with Degree of Certainty (DoC). The new information is used to identify faults occurred at a single observation. The proposed method is tested using the previously published dataset and compared with Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Experiment shows CAI implementation on Doernenburg Ratio performs 115 out of 117 accurate identification, followed by Fuzzy Inference System 94.02% and ANN 78.6%. CAI works well even with small amount of data and does not require trainings.

Abstract

High speed applications require the access network upgrading based on new optical technologies in “last mile”. At the planning stage of network modernization, special algorithms and techniques allow optimize and automate the designing process of network upgrade based on copper cables. However, these techniques are completely inapplicable if optical technologies are used to the access network modernization. Designed algorithm simplifies the throughput calculation of current access nodes and planning of new access nodes depending on subscriber’s requirementstto the broadband services. Developed program based on proposed algorithm allows to determinate access nodes optimal deployment as well as the required equipment characteristics.

Abstract

In this paper, we consider downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in which the relay selection (RS) scheme is enabled for cooperative networks. In particular, we investigate impact of the number of relays on system performance in term of outage probability. The main factors affecting on cooperative NOMA performance are fixed power allocations coefficients and the number of relay. This paper also indicate performance gap of the outage probabilities among two users the context of NOMA. To exhibit the exactness of derived formula, we match related results between simulation and analytical methods. Numerical results confirms that cooperative NOMA networks benefit from increasing the number of relay.

Abstract

Business processes and software components, especially class diagrams, have a firm connection. Considering software components support the business process in providing an excellent product and service. Besides, business process changes affect on software component design. One of them usually appears on the label or name of the software component or business process. Sometimes, a related business process and software component appears in the different label but the same meaning rather than using the same label. This situation is problematic when there are many changes to be made, in which the software component's modifying process becomes quite long. Therefore, the software maintainers should obtain an efficient procedure to shorten the modifying process. One solution is by using conformity checking, which helps the software maintainers know which software component is related to a specific business process. This paper compared two leading topic modeling techniques, namely probabilistic latent semantic analysis (PLSA) and latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA), to determine which one has a better performancefor process traceability.

Abstract

Power systems in all over the world have increased in size and complexity due to rapid growth of widespread interconnection. This situation will make power system operated closer to steady-state stability limit (SSSL) resulting in higher probability voltage instability or voltage collapse. This paper presents SSSL assessment in power system using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model based on REI-Dimo method. The equivalent REI-Dimo is used to determine SSSL index of the power systems. Then, the result of REI-Dimo will be taught on ANN method via online. Studies were carried out on a Java-Bali 500kV system. The simulation showed that the proposed method could accurately predict the proximity to SSSL in power system. The method was computationally efficient and suitable for online monitoring of steady-state stability condition in the power systems.

Abstract

When an electrical machine suffered a mechanical fault, it generally emits certain sounds. These sounds came from the vibration. Therefore, based on the vibration, it could be detected if there was a mechanical fault in an electrical machine. This paper discussed the graphical display of the vibration of electrical machines in the form of household water pumps which were in good condition, faulty bearing, faulty impeller, or faulty foot valve. Vibration could be displayed in the time domain, or in the frequency domain, by using the three axes, i.e. X, Y, and Z. In the frequency domain, the vibration could be displayed at various frequency resolutions. Based on the observations, the higher frequency resolution, the lower detail in the graphical display of frequency domain would be shown. Although there was lower detail in the graphical display of frequency domain, at frequency resolution of 11.7 Hz in the X axis, showed that it could be visually distinguished among water pumps which were in good condition, faulty bearing, faulty impeller, or faulty foot valve.

Abstract

In this paper we analyze the internet pricing schemes based on bandwidth function diminished with increasing bandwidth utility function with 3 pricing strategies for homogeneous and heterogeneous consumer. The new proposed pricing schemes with this utility function will give the information to the internet service providers (ISP) in maximizing profits and provide better service quality for users. The Models on every type of consumer are applied to the data traffic in Palembang local server. LINGO 11.0 is used to compute the nonlinear programming problem to get the optimal solution. The results showed that for each case based on 3-pricing scheme, ISPs get better profit by choosing all three schemes in consumers type of homogenous case while for heterogeneous cases on willingness to pay and based on demand of the consumers, ISPs can select flat fee scheme to gain higher profit rather than those two other schemes.

Abstract

The big data is currently a growing topic in the world of information technology. Based on the literature mentioned that manage of big data can create significant value for the world economy, improving productivity and competitiveness of enterprises and the public sector as well as creating a large economic surplus for consumers. However, based on the information obtained, the big data is still not widely applied in the company or organization. This study aimed to explore more information about the big data and proceed with making an application prototype big data management. This experiment established with the big data storage that is database, this research use NoSQL database technology that can map the needs of both structured and unstructured. And this research will be carried out migration of Relational Database (RDBMS) into the database MongoDB.   Prototype will be create with the object of study is structured and unstructured data. The expected result of this research is a model or prototype of big data management that can help organizations and companies (especially education) to make decisions based on various types of data.

Abstract

Nowadays social media has tremendously transformed organizational business process of institution. Higher Education as a place with the majority generation Y, that advances to use technology should realize these situations. With this social media platform, institution may facilitate the knowledge transfer process, then to support collaborative learning from e-learning to social learning. Referring to this phenomenon, this research will design the integration of concepts of knowledge management and social media as a framework to identify the significant components and its relationship to support each other. In this research, we use a systematic literature review from journal and text book to construct this collaboration model. The outcome of this study is collaboration model of knowledge management and social media to support learning process in higher education institution.
