Abstract

Traffic congestion has raised worldwide as a result of growing motorization, urbanization, and population. In fact, congestion reduces the efficiency of transportation infrastructure usage and increases travel time, air pollutions as well as fuel consumption. Then, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) comes as a solution of this problem by implementing information technology and communications networks. One classical option of Intelligent Transportation Systems is video camera technology. Particularly, the video system has been applied to collect traffic data including vehicle detection and analysis. However, this application still has limitation when it has to deal with a complex traffic and environmental condition. Thus, the research proposes OTSU, FCM and K-means methods and their comparison in video image processing. OTSU is a classical algorithm used in image segmentation, which is able to cluster pixels into foreground and background. However, only FCM (Fuzzy C-Means) and K-means algorithms have been successfully applied to cluster pixels without supervision. Therefore, these methods seem to be more potential to generate the MSE values for defining a clearer threshold for background subtraction on a moving object with varying environmental conditions. Comparison of these methods is assessed from MSE and PSNR values. The best MSE result is demonstrated from K-means and a good PSNR is obtained from FCM. Thus, the application of the clustering algorithms in detection of moving objects in various condition is more promising.

Abstract

Monitoring the heart activities for old people or people with medical history (Arrhythmia or CHD) is targeted by most new medical technologies. This paper demonstrated an in-patient real-time monitoring system for heart rate estimation. A ratio of beats per minute (BPM) is continuously recorded, streamed and archived to the cloud via WeMos WiFi development board. This cost effective system is simply based on two sub-systems: BPM data acquisition through pulse sensor and WeMos-based communication systems. The streamed BPM data are saved instantaneously in Google drive as spreadsheets which can only be accessed by authorized persons wherever the internet service is available. Thus, the person in charge can remotely observe the patient’s status and do analytics for the archived data. A pilot study with eight subjects was carried out to validate the developed BPM tele-monitoring system. Encouraging results have been achieved.

Abstract

Nowadays, improving the WPCN efficiency problem is the leading research direction in the communication network. In this research, the outage probability (OP) analysis in DF power-splitting (PS) full-duplex (FD) relaying network with impact of co-channel interference at the destination is proposed and investigated. In the system model section, we present the DF PS FD Relaying Network with Impact of Co-channel interference at the destination. Then in the system performance section, we analyze and derive the closed-form expression of the OP and investigate the effect of the main system parameters on the system network performance. Then, we perform the Monte Carlo simulation to verify the analytical section. This research can provide a new recommendation for the communication network.

Abstract

This paper proposes, a novel hybrid color component (HCC) issued from amounts number of color space with iterative manner, in fact traditional images obtained by RGB sensor weren’t the effective way in image processing applications, for this purpose we have propose a supervised algorithm to substitute RGB level by hybrid and suitable color space at the aim to make well representation of the handled amounts of data, this step is extremely important because the obtained results it will be injected in many future studies like tracking, classification, steganography and cryptography. The second part of this paper consists to segment image coded in hybrid color space already selected, the used algorithm is inspired from kernel function where statistical distribution was used to model background and Bayes rule to make decision of the membership of each pixel, in this research topics we have extended this algorithm in the aim to improve compactness of these distribution. Cauchy background modeling and subtraction is used, and shows the high accuracy of automatic player detection.

Abstract

This article will analyze new improved charging scheme with base price, quality premium and QoS networks involved. Sain and Herpers [5] already attempted to obtain revenue maximization by creating charging scheme of internet. The plan is attempted to solve multi service networks scheme as an optimization model to obtain revenue maximization using our improved model based on Byun and Chatterjee [2] and Sain and Herpers [5]. The results show that improved model can be solved optimally using optimization tool LINGO to achieve better revenue maximization. Better results are obtained in all cases rather than in [5]. The advantage of our new model is that ISP also can set up their base price and quality premium based on ISP preferences. For some cases for getting revenue maximization, we do not offer one service and just utilize some of the services.

Abstract

Flow behaviour monitoring on the micro-scale is very important in many industrial and biochemical process. Electrical resistance tomography (ERT), as an alternative technique to visualize multi-phase flows, has high temporal resolution for monitoring fast transient processes. However, the complexity of microchannel fabrication end up with the difficulty of electrical data sampling and the non-linearity and ill-posedness of the inverse problem often cause the poor spatial resolution of the reconstructed images. Inthis paper, Agilent based data acquisition hardware was set up for reliable data retrieval from a novel microchannel. Gauss-Newton method with adaptive threshold (GNAT) technique was presented to improve the spatial resolution of ERT images.Preliminary experimental results reveal that ERT system based on Agilent data acquisition unit and GNAT method can effectively visualize the solid-liquid two-phase flow in microchannel.

Abstract

This paper describes a kind of silicon-based plane spiral inductance coil ,whose layout size and fabrication technology process are given. The production of inductance coil adopts the method of an internal down-lead produced by ohm contact electrode which is formed by heavily boron- diffused and the Al evaporated on the surface of N-type high resistivity silicon wafer. Processing the silicon cup on The back of the silicon wafer using Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technology, on the basis of thickness reduction of the inductance coil substrate, the porous array substrate of about 5μm thickness is obtained by laser drilling on the underside of the silicon cup, which reduces the vortex of substrate, and greatly improves the Q value of inductance coil. Analyze the effects of series resistance of the coil and metal layer thickness on the Q value in the condition of low frequency and high frequency, and Ansys software is used to simulate the inductance coil current density and magnetic induction intensity, to determine the optimum substrate thickness of inductance coil. The silicon-based plane spiralind inductance coil has the advantages of simple manufacturing process and is compatible with IC technology, compared with other manufacturing method, so it has a wide application prospect.
