Abstract

Power systems in all over the world have increased in size and complexity due to rapid growth of widespread interconnection. This situation will make power system operated closer to steady-state stability limit (SSSL) resulting in higher probability voltage instability or voltage collapse. This paper presents SSSL assessment in power system using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model based on REI-Dimo method. The equivalent REI-Dimo is used to determine SSSL index of the power systems. Then, the result of REI-Dimo will be taught on ANN method via online. Studies were carried out on a Java-Bali 500kV system. The simulation showed that the proposed method could accurately predict the proximity to SSSL in power system. The method was computationally efficient and suitable for online monitoring of steady-state stability condition in the power systems.

Abstract

Energi listik merupakan kebutuhan manusia yang sangat penting karena selain berfungsi dalam penerangan, energi listrik juga sangat berperan dalam berbagai aktivitas manusia lainnya. Dengan seiring waktu, bahan baku pembangkit tenaga listrik dari fosil juga semakin menipis. Sudah selayaknya kebutuhan energi yang memanfaatkan energi fosil berganti menjadi energi terbarukan. Salah satu pemanfaatan energi terbarukan yang potensinya sangat besar di Indonesia adalah energi berasal dari energi laut yang dinamakan solar pond . Energi dari solar pond sangat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yaitu salinitas, temperatur udara dan radiasi matahari. Penelitian ini akan difokuskan untuk mencari potensi solar pond di Jeneponto yang memiliki curah matahari cukup besar dan ketersediaan bahan baku air garam yang melimpah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan menganalisa nilai dari model matematis radiasi matahari horizontal harian, temperatur udara, kecepatan angin, kelembaban relatif, dan tekanan atmosfir selama 22 tahun terakhir yang diselesaikan dengan menggunakan MATLAB. Hasil penelitian ini akan menunjukkan potensi untuk penerapan solar pond di Jeneponto yang dapat di aplikasikan di berbagai bidang seperti pembangkit energi listrik, proses pemanasan industri, desalinasi dan pemanasan konversi biomass.

Abstract

Load scheduling is essential for optimizing power transmission on the system. The way to produce a stable electrical energy transmission system is to minimize transmission losses using between the moment of inertia and power on the generator. The generation noise is a description of the power losses on the transmission line generated when the power plant sends the load power. Transferring power from a high losses plant to a low losses plant. Rescheduling System can minimize transmission system losses. In this research, the scheduling result of this method is compared with the realization of scheduling of thermal generators from PT PLN (Persero) Sulselbar Central Disbursement and Control Center (P3B). This comparison aims to prove this method better than scheduling realized PLN, so that found also advantages and disadvantages method. After the research, this method produces a generation power that is close to stability, because the amount of power generated close to the power generation of PLN in fulfilling the same load demand remains with smaller transmission losses and cheaper fuel costs. The result of stable loading results in the efficiency of the electricity company so that it can reduce the operational cost of the generation and of course indirectly impact on the low cost of electricity production.

Abstract

Makalah ini menyajikan analisis gangguan transient tiga fasa seimbang pada system interkoneksi Sulawesi Bagian Selatan (Sulbagsel). Sistem interkoneksi Sulbagsel yang multi mesin dan sangat kompleks tentu sangat berpengaruh pada perubahan-perubahan kondisi pada sistem, baik itu saat terjadinya hubung singkat maupun perubahan beban yang tiba-tiba pada system. Melalui pendekatan Metode Radial Equivalent Independent Dimo (REI-Dimo) maka akan dilakukan studi analisis system interkoneksi Sulbagsel yang terdiri dari 44 bus, 15 generator, 47 line, dan 34 beban yang selanjutnya akan di reduksi untuk mendapatkan bus generator terlemah serta arus gangguan terbesar pada bus. Hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa saat dilakukan simulasi hubung singkat didapatkan bus terlemah berada pada bus generator 2 (Pinrang) dengan nilai tegangan rata-rata selama gangguan sebesar 0.6492 pu. Sementara untuk arus gangguan terbesar terjadi pada bus 12 (Sengkang) yakni sebesar 29.9189 pu. Kata Kunci : Transient Stability, REI-Dimo, Hubung Singkat, Sulbagsel.

Abstract

Electric energy is basically one of the main needs used in various activities in the community. In the distribution of electricity energy is required a reliable system so that the continuity of electricity energy that reaches consumers can be guaranteed well. One of the systems that needs to be maintained is the system related to distribution in addition to transmission and power generation systems. Reliability and quality of power must be maintained properly. Transformer damage is usually affected by overload which can harm the transformer itself as well as transformer insulation. A hot transformer can cause a short circuit that can cause the transformer to explode, so that the damage to the transformer can shorten the life of use both in terms of tools and oil.  Electricity monitoring system has been widely implemented with the installation of electric measuring instruments on the transformer panel before entering the load.  This research aims to build a prototype transformer monitoring module in real time based on the Internet of Things. This research is in line with Unhas research plan related to innovations in the field of Energy and the development of smart grid systems that can optimize the utilization of various new and renewable sources that vary, while being able to control the efficient use patterns of electricity energy on the downstream side through the protocol of informatics technology systems that have advanced today

Abstract

Street Lightning is a part of complimentary stucture of street, which can be put at any part of the street. It aims to light the street and its environment. The advanced improvement of street lightning has applied lightning system with solar photovoltaic that has energy efficiency and environmental friendly. Belabori Village in Gowa District uses electricity for residential lighting and has limited street lightning. This condition leads to safety and convenience issues to its society, which can cause decresing in productivity. Therefore, this community service activity is held to give recommendation to Belabory’ society to applied science and technology to attain reachable appropriate energy resources for their needs. This activity established solar photovoltaic based street lightning system that will give safety and comfort to the society during night time and also gave advising about the importance of street lighting for the productivity and how to maintain the facility. To evaluate the usefulness of this activity, method has been applied by comparing the result pre-and-post activity through discussion and survey. The results show that there is an increasing awareness of the importance of the street lightning for safety, convenience and productivity of the society. There is also counsciousness of the Belabori’ society to retain the sustianability of the facility. They are also starting to know some of renewable energy based technologies to increase their productivity.

Abstract

The topic of community service activities is the Household Electrical Installation Training for Youth in Manggala District Makassar as an Effort to Create New Jobs. The method of activity is household electrical installation training with two approaches, theory and practice. The training was evaluated using the questionnaire method with closed questions. In general, the implementation of the training was considered to be going well. This is reflected in the responses of respondents in the training participant questionnaire Respondents who answered well were 28.6% and those who answered very well were 71.4%.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology, the trend that leads to the green earth movement and the encouragement of the use of new and renewable energy (EBT) by the government, have become the basis for the importance of introducing small-scale EBT generation equipment to the society, especially to students. Solar energy is one the source of renewable energy that has considerable potential and is spread evenly in Indonesia. Solar Panels as the main component of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) have qualified and advanced technology. The application has been widely used by both industry and urban communities. This activity was carried out by the Department of Electrical Engineering Unhas to introduce solar panels as a source of EBT to high school students of SMA Negeri 1 Takalar, Pattalassang Subdistrict, Takalar Regency through outreach activities. By this activity, the students will have an understanding of the basic principles, components of small-scale PV and its latest technology. This activity also produces a small-scale PLTS module which will be given to SMA Negeri 1 Takalar, in order for continuous learning can be carried out. To measure the level of success of the activity, pre- and post-activity assessments were conducted in the form of a questionnaire to students with parameters related to the basic understanding of PLTS. The results of the quantitative analysis of the questionnaire showed an increase in the level of student understanding reaching 44-56% after the service activities were carried out. Therefore, this activity gives the expected results.

Abstract

The availability of hot water energy sources in Pincara Village, North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province, is a potential that must be developed as a source of electrical energy for the people in the village and surrounding villages. The existence of cheap energy sources will have an impact on improving the economy for villagers, most of whom make a living as farmers. In line with the development of industrial development in developing countries such as Indonesia where electrical energy is needed in increasing amounts of capacity, conventional sources of power generation (oil/gas) will not meet the required supply. Geothermal is an alternative to renewable energy sources other than biomass, hydro/wind/solar power, sea waves and nuclear power; which may be the main choice as a substitute for conventional/non-renewable energy sources. In connection with the direct use of geothermal energy sources that have low temperatures which are considered uneconomical, from these conditions, a technology is needed that is able to utilize geothermal energy sources that have low temperatures. One of the technological innovations for utilizing geothermal energy that has a low temperature is Organic Rankine Cycles. Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) which is a modification of the Rankine cycle by using refrigerant as a working fluid to produce electrical energy. This system consists of four main components, namely the evaporator, turbine, condenser, and pump. The working fluid is pumped into the evaporator to generate steam.

Abstract

Sumber daya manusia (SDM) merupakan salah satu penggerak perekonomian, sehingga perkembangan SDM senantiasa dibutuhkan, khususnya peningkatan SDM sejak dini dari tingkat siswa/pelajar. Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang sejak awal telah memilih bidang keahlian/keilmuan akan dihadapkan oleh Uji Kompetensi Keahlian (UKK) dan kualifikasi kompetensi sesuai jenis pekerjaan pada bidang keilmuannya. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) oleh Departemen Teknik Elektro, FT Unhas bertujuan untuk memberikan pengenalan dan pemahaman terkait penggunaan instrumen pengukuran untuk mempersiapkan siswa SMK dalam menghadapi UKK dan meningkatkan kualifikasi kompetensi bidang ketenagalistrikan, khususnya pengujian dan pemeriksaan instalasi listrik. Hal ini merupakan solusi atas permasalahan yang terjadi pada mitra pengabdian, yaitu SMK Neg. 4 Gowa, dengan keterbatasan instrumen pengukuran. Bentuk kegiatan PkM adalah pelatihan penggunaan instrumen alat ukur tahanan isolasi, tahanan pembumian, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) dan besaran listrik lainnya, seperti arus, tegangan dan daya. Hasil analisis kuantitatif pengukuran pre-test (sebelum pelatihan) dan post-test (setelah pelatihan) diperoleh kenaikan tingkat pemahaman siswa terkait instrumen pengukuran berkisar 63 – 91% dari cukup paham hingga paham terhadap terhadap topik ini dibandingkan dengan kondisi sebelum pelatihan. Parameter pengukuran tahanan isolasi memiliki kenaikan yang cukup signifikan, karena sebelum kegiatan dilakukan, 100% siswa tidak memahami parameter ini, namun setelah dilakukan pelatihan, terjadi peningkatan 65% siswa cukup paham dan 4% siswa paham. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan ini telah mencapai sasaran yang telah diharapkan oleh tim
