Abstract

The rapid development of the internet of things (IoT) has taken an important role in daily activities. As it develops, IoT is very vulnerable to attacks and creates IoT for users. Intrusion detection system (IDS) can work efficiently and look for activity in the network. Many data sets have already been collected, however, when dealing with problems involving big data and hight data imbalances. This article proposes, using the dataset used by BotIoT to evaluate the system framework to be created, the XGBoost model to improve the detection performance of all types of attacks, to control unbalanced data using the imbalance ratio of each class weight (CW). The experimental results show that the proposed approach greatly increases the detection rate for infrequent disturbances.

Abstract

The soon to be deployed 5G systems are expected to cater an agglomerate of services at profuse data rates wirelessly. Radio over fiber (RoF) networks are the most suitable to implement such systems. In situations where the practical implementation of RoF systems are non-viable, radio over free space optical (RoFSO) links can be employed. The traditional wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology can be incorporated to multiply the data rates. However, the link performance may be degraded due to various atmospheric factors. This can be compensated using multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques. In this paper, the performance analysis of such a WDM RoFSO link for 5G frequencies is carried out. The work also presents quantitative performance comparison between single input single output (SISO) and MIMO RoFSO links for 5G systems which will be useful for researchers in this area. It is observed that, while WDM provides additional data capacity, it degrades the link performance under adverse weather conditions which can be counterbalanced using MIMO techniques.

Abstract

This manuscript introduces a novel chaotic discrete function, formulated through the composition of the dyadic transformation map (DTM) and the Gauss iterated map (GIM), and designated as DTGIM. The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) randomness test suite, bifurcation diagrams, and Lyapunov exponents are used to examine the chaotic characteristics of DTGIM. With ini tial condition x0 = 0.12345 and parameters α = −15 and β = 0.3, the func tion shows chaotic behavior in the bifurcation diagram and produces a positive Lyapunov exponent. Strong randomness is further confirmed by NIST tests, which achieve 100% for 32-bit binary sequences and 63.75% for 8-bit binary sequences. Additionally, we compare a number other chaotic discrete functions that also employ the composition method. These findings show that DTGIM is a viable option for applications involving chaos-based cryptography.

Abstract

A novel technique utilizing a convolutional autoencoder (CAE) is introduced with the aim of enhancing the spatial resolution of multispectral (MS) images while concurrently mitigating spectral distortion. First, an original panchromatic (PAN) image is constructed from its spatially degraded version. Then, the relationship between the original PAN image and its degraded version is utilized to reconstruct the high-resolution MS image; in addition, an intensity component of MS image, which is obtained using an adaptive intensity-hue-saturation (AIHS), is reconstructed by utilizing the aforementioned relationship. Two types of remote sensing datasets are adopted, and the effect of the patch size with the overlapping pixel on spectral and spatial distortion is considered. After training CAE, the low-resolution MS image and its intensity component are given to the trained network as input to obtain the MS image and intensity component with better details. Eventually, the fused image is obtained by using a component substitution (CS) framework. Experimental findings corroborate that the proposed method yields superior outcomes compared with several existing approaches, demonstrating advantages in both objective metrics and visual fidelity.

Abstract

With the demand for mobile data traffic, multi-carrier transmission techniques are highly attractive for all-new wireless communication systems, which divides data into many components and sends each of these components via a different carrier signal. So far, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) techniques are the dominant waveform contenders. A number of studies have been made and failed to give a complete comparison where they did not consider various conditions altogether. Therefore, this paper addresses a complete comparative analysis of OFDM and FBMC, performed based on spectral efficiency, modulation, demodulation, power spectral densities, and peak to average power ratio comparison, all simulated using Matlab and GNU’s not unix radio (GNU-radio) software.

Abstract

The integration of the internet of things (IoT) has significantly enhanced human life but also raises concerns about information security and privacy. Information security can be achieved through cryptography, which encrypts data to make it unreadable, or steganography, which hides data within other media. For sensitive media, such as military, medical, and forensic imaging, specialized techniques like reversible data hiding (RDH) are necessary to ensure the media can be fully restored after data extraction. Many researchers have proposed improvements to the RDH method in recent years. In this study, we propose an improved RDH method utilizing difference expansion and a modulus function. The method embeds data into the 4-bit, 3-bit, and 2-bit least significant bits (LSB) of the difference value of pixels, with a range of -2 and 2. The experimental findings demonstrate that our approach achieves a embedding capacity of 0.2507 bpp with 55.445 dB of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) for common images and 0.3849 bpp with 54.6810 dB of PSNR for medical images, using 2-bit difference values. The results demonstrate that our approach surpasses previous methods and holds promise for practical applications in IoT systems and the medical field, where secure and reversible data embedding is essential.

Abstract

We propose a model for carrying out deep learning based multimodal sentiment analysis. The MOUD dataset is taken for experimentation purposes. We developed two parallel text based and audio basedmodels and further, fused these heterogeneous feature maps taken from intermediate layers to complete thearchitecture. Performance measures–Accuracy, precision, recall and F1-score–are observed to outperformthe existing models.

Abstract

Transportation activities require substantial costs: drivers, fuel, vehicle maintenance, vehicle and equipment procurement capital, and administrative activities. In the vehicle routing problem (VRP), all vehicles have the same load capacity. But in reality, the company has vehicles with different abilities. The heterogeneous vehicle routing problem (HVRP) is a variant of VRP. Transportation is a source of pollution. Therefore, electric vehicles are starting to replace fossil fuel vehicles. However, a few electric vehicle recharging stations remain, especially in Indonesia. Consequently, the authors build a heterogeneous vehicle routing problem model by considering the filling station using mixed integer programming. This research aims to create a model by determining distribution routes with minimum costs from several capacities of electric-powered freight fleets with different capabilities by considering refilling stations. Research contributions realize the transition towards sustainable energy, one of the priority issues in Indonesia’s G20 presidency.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the dominant causes of death in the world. Mammography is the standard for early detection of breast cancer. In examining mammograms, the overall parenchyma pattern of the left and right breast was placed side by side for symmetry assessed of left and right breast tissue by radiologist. Thus, in building computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system for screening mammography, it is necessary to adapt the working procedure of the radiologist. In this study, 30 training images and 30 testing images from Kotabaru Oncology Clinic in Yogyakarta were used. The first step was to enhance the image quality with median filter and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE). Then, feature extraction was processed by histogram-based and by gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) based. Furthermore, the similarity measurement process was used to measure the difference value between selected features, i.e. angular second moment (ASM), inverse difference moment (IDM), contrast, entropy based GLCM, and energy, on the left and right mammograms. This process was intended to assess the symmetry of left and right mammograms as radiologists do in mammography screening. The obtained results of the classification between normal and abnormal images with backpropagation algorithm were accuracy of 0.933, sensitivity of 0.833, and specificity of 1.000.

Abstract

Increased industrial activity in South Cikarang has limited the availability of agricultural land, encouraging the adoption of controlled environment agriculture systems. This study describes the design and implementation of a smart hydroponic greenhouse that is fully supported by a 600 Wp solar photovoltaic (PV) system and controlled using an industrial-grade programmable logic controller (PLC). This system automatically regulates temperature and humidity through exhaust fans and sprayers based on real-time sensor feedback. Experimental results show that when the internal temperature exceeds 31 °C, the control system recovers to 29.7 °C within 15 minutes and maintains a temperature range of 24–30 °C. Relative humidity is maintained within the optimal range of 75–90%. The PV system produces an average daily energy output of approximately 2.0 kWh, resulting in an energy self-sufficiency ratio (ESR) of 138%, which indicates excess energy production compared to system demand. These results prove that the integration of industrial automation with renewable energy provides reliable environmental control, high energy efficiency, and operational stability for hydroponic greenhouse applications in urban industrial areas.
