A new version of transverse electromagnetic parallel plates with irregular plates’ width and plate separation has been developed for dielectric measurement. The separations between the plates are supported by four rectangular Teflon block and 1 mm of groove is proposed at the center of the upper plate to maintain the measurement repeatability. The groove enables the samples which are slightly higher than 2 cm to be fitted well between the plates without introducing extra force to the plates. Theperformance of both parallel plates has been compared in the frequency range from 100 MHz to 1.1 GHz. It is found that the upgraded parallel plate offers better return loss and insertion loss above 500 MHz compared to the previous parallel plate. It is reported from this work that the return loss of the parallel plate must be lower than -15 dB in order to achieve accurate dielectric constant. However, the insertion loss of the parallel plates does not influence the real permeability significantly. The upgraded TEM parallel plateproduces a consistent reading with a standard deviation of less than 0.05 above frequency 200 MHz. The dielectric measurement of Polypropylene (PP) has proven the capability of this upgraded TEM parallelplate.

Drowning is the leading cause of injury or death for children and teenagers. Designing a drowning detection device by implementing an Internet of Thing (IoT) is needed. An Early Drowning Detection System (EDDS) is a system that gives an early alarm to the guardians (parents and lifeguard) if the detector triggered an abnormal heartbeat and the victims are submerged under the water for a long time. A microcontroller was used to control the signal received from a pulse sensor and time for the signal lost under the water before it is transmitted to the access point. The access point acts as a data forwarding to the database via an internet connection. Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) 433MHz radio frequency transceiver has been used to create the wireless communication between drowning detection device and monitoring hub. A triggered warning signal will be transmitted to the guardians via Android apps and web page.

Main issue in urban transportation system is traffic accident which caused by several factors where there are two factors that has a significant contribution in accident are overspeed and fatigue. Therefore, main objective of this research is to develop Speed Limiter Integrated Analyzer (SLIFA). This device will be controlling the speed by cutting off the fuel supply to the engine when driver's fatigue or speed are beyond limitation. This research was consists of four steps which are Step 1 is study literature on types of vehicle. Step 2, detail engineering design that is focused in this research. Step 3 is describing the target of SLIFA installation. Step 4 is fabricating and testing of SLIFA on truck and bus in range of July 2017 to January 2018. The result shows the appropriate voltage for speed at 70 km/h is 10.7 volt for limiting the speed. The traffic accident has succesfully decreased up to 47% after SLIFA installed on truck and bus. It can be concluded that the SLIFA application on transportation especially on truck and bus was very recommended to reduce traffic accident and play an appropriate government regulation.

The energy consumption level of the telecommunication process has become a new consideration in resource management scheme. It is becoming a new parameter in the resource management scheme besides throughput, spectral efficiency, and fairness. This work proposes a power control scheme and user grouping method to keep the rational energy consumption level of the resource management scheme. Inverse water-filling power allocation is a power allocation scheme that optimizes the energy efficiency by giving the power to the user which have good channel conditions. The user grouping method becomes the solution for carrier aggregation (CA) scheme that prevents edge cell user get the resources from the high-frequency carrier. This can prevent energy wastage in the transmission process. This power control scheme and user grouping method can optimize the spectral and energy efficiency without increasing the time complexity of the system.

Many compression methods have been developed until now, especially for very high-resolution satellites images, which, due to the massive information contained in them, need compression for a more efficient storage and transmission. This paper modifies Perfilieva's Fuzzy transform using pseudo-exponential function to compress very high-resolution satellite images. We found that very high-resolution satellite images can be compressed by F-transform with pseudo-exponential function as the membership function. The compressed images have good quality as shown by the PSNR values ranging around 59-66 dB. However, the process is quite time-consuming with average 187.1954 seconds needed to compress one image. These compressed images qualities are better than the standard compression methods such as CCSDS and Wavelet method, but still inferior regarding time consumption.

With the growing and aging population, patient auto monitoring systems are becoming more popular. Smart sensors linked with the internet of things (IoT) make patients' auto monitoring system possible. Nowadays myRIO with LabVIEW is more popular for easy data acquisition, instrument control, and automation. This paper proposed myRIO and IoT based health monitoring and diagnosing system (HMDS) to acquire heartbeat rate, pulse, blood pressure (BP), temperature and activities of the patient using various smart sensors with more accuracy. The acquired raw data from the various sensors had been sent to the myRIO using ESP 8266 Wi-Fi module. The received raw data by the myRIO would be processed to the equivalent medical parameters using LabVIEW and the same might be transferred to the remote monitoring system (RMS) using cloud via a gateway. The abnormalities in the obtained data would be monitored and the diagnosis was made. The experimental setup was developed using various wearable sensors, ESP 8266, myRIO with LabVIEW and cloud with the gateway.

The parametric snake is one of the preferred approaches in feature extraction from images because of their simplicity and efficiency. However the method has also limitations. In this paper an explicit snake that represented using BSpline applied for image segmentation is considered. In this paper, we identify some of these problems and propose efficient solutions to get around them. The proposed method is inspired by classical snake from Kass with some adaption for parametric curve. The paper also proposes new definitions of energy terms in the model to bring the snake performance more robust and efficient for image segmentation. This energy term unify the edge based and region based energy derived from the image data. The main objective of developed work is to develop an automatic method to segment the anatomical organs from medical images which is very hard and tedious to be performed manually. After this segmentation, the anatomical object can be further measured and analyzed to diagnose the anomaly in that organ. The results have shown that the proposed method has been proven qualitatively successful in segmenting different types of medical images.

In this paper we are going to study the effect of channel noise in image compressed with vector quantization and discrete wavelet transform. The objective of this study is to analyze and understand the way that the noise attack transmitted data by doing lot of tests like dividing the indices in different levels according to discrete wavelet transform and dividing each level in frames of bits. The collected information well helps us to propose solutions to make the received image more resistible to the channel noise also to benefit from the good representation obtained by using vector quantization and discrete wavelet transform.

This paper presents a new approach of Forward-Backward Time-Stepping (FBTS) utilizing Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method with Overset Grid Generation (OGG) method to solve the inverse scattering problems for electromagnetic (EM) waves. The proposed FDTD method is combined with OGG method to reduce the geometrically complex problem to a simple set of grids. The grids can be modified easily without the need to regenerate the grid system, thus, it provide an efficient approach to integrate with the FBTS technique. Here, the characteristics of the EM waves are analyzed. For the research mentioned in this paper, the ‘measured’ signals are syntactic data generated by FDTD simulations. While the ‘simulated’ signals are the calculated data. The accuracy of the proposed approach is validated. Good agreements are obtained between simulation data and measured data. The proposed approach has the potential to provide useful quantitative information of the unknown object particularly for shape reconstruction, object detection and others.

Refining DeLone and McLean’s (D&M) information system model and technology-organisation-environment (TOE) framework, this research identifies the prominent factors that determine ERP system success. Hypotheses are also drawn based on supporting theories to evaluate the causal relationship between the success determinants. The level of achievement is measured by system quality, information quality, service quality, external quality and top management support, which intermediated by perceived usefulness and user satisfaction towards business benefits. To provide empirical evidence, 86 valid samples out of 156 were collected using a web survey that targeted ERP users in Indonesia. Furthermore, Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) algorithm were applied to check the proposed hypotheses. The results suggest system quality, information quality and service quality significantly affect user satisfaction, whereas they moderately impact on perceived usefulness. Interestingly, external pressures were reported as being the biggest influence on user satisfaction and positively impacted on perceived usefulness. Despite being fairly predictive to perceived usefulness, top management support along with general perceptual factors ultimately promote system success by elevating business benefits.
