Abstract

Context-aware services are attracting attention of world as the use of web services are rapidly growing. We designed an architecture of context-aware semantic web which provides on demand flexibility and scalability in extracting and mining the research papers from well-known digital libraries i.e. ACM, IEEE and SpringerLink. This paper proposes a context-aware administrations system, which supports programmed revelation and incorporation of setting dependent on Semantic Web administrations. This work has been done using the python programming language with a dedicated library for the semantic web analysis named as “Cubic-Web” on any defined dataset, in our case as we have used a dataset for extracting and studying several publications to measure the impact of context aware semantic web application on the results. We have found the average recall and averge accuracy for all the context aware research journals in our research work. Moreover, as this study is limited journal documents, other future studies can be approached by examining different types of publications using this advance research. An efficient system has been designed considering the parameters of research article meta-data to find out the papers from the web using semantic web technology. Parameters like year of publication, type of publication, number of contributors, evaluation methods and analysis method used in publication. All this data has been extracted using the designed context-aware semantic web technology.

Abstract

With the increasing demand of energy, the energy production is not that much sufficient and that’s why it has become an important issue to make accurate prediction of energy consumption for efficient management of energy. Hence appropriate demand side forecasting has a great economical worth. Objective of our paper is to render representations of a suitable time series forecasting model using autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and Holt Winters model for the energy consumption of Ohio/Kentucky and also predict the accuracy considering different periods (daily, weekly, monthly). We apply these two models and observe that Holt Winters model outperforms ARIMA model in each (daily, weekly and monthly observations) of the cases. We also make a comparison among few other existing analyses of time series forecasting and find out that the mean absolute percentage error (MASE) of Holt Winters model is least considering the monthly data.

Abstract

Wireless channels are characterized among others by their Doppler spectrum. In the cooperative diversity, one of diversity branch may consist of several mobile relays forming multihop link which each hop introduced Doppler shift. With employing amplify-and-forward (AF) relays, the Doppler shift keeps accumulating to the end of the link. Doppler shift value affects the time varying channel rate, which is a challenge in broadband mobile communication system. Hence, the Doppler parameter is very important and must be considered in broadband mobile communication system design and analysis. Unfortunately, it is hard to derive the expressions of this Doppler spectrum in a closed form since a special function under integration such as complete elliptic integral exists.  To solve this problem, curve-fitting method base on least-square is used. In this process, curtailed-Gaussian and cosine functions are proposed as an approximation function. Then, from Kullback-Leiber divergence test, it is showed that both proposed functions, i.e., curtailed-Gaussian and cosine functions have a good approximation as Doppler spectrum modeling of Multihop mobile channel with all gain relays assumed as 1 and all mobile terminals are assumed move with almost same velocity.

Abstract

Abstract

Detection and prediction of peatland cover changes needs to be done in the rapid rate of deforestation in Indonesia. This work applied Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Markov Chain Model on multitemporal satellite data. The study area is located in the Rokan Hilir district, Riau Province. SVM classification technique used to extract information from satellite data for the years 2000, 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2013. The Markov Chain Model was used to predict future peatland cover. The SVM classification result showed that the Kappa accuracy of peatland cover classification is more than 0.92. The non vegetation areas increased to 307% and the sparse vegetation areas increased to 22% between 2000 and 2013, while dense vegetation areas decreased to 61%. Prediction of future land cover by the Markov Chain Model showed that the use of multitemporal satellite data with 3 years interval provides accurate result for predicting peatland cover changes.

Abstract

Important parameters that need to be known from the results of cardiac examination using Electrocardiograph is the parameter value of PQRST amplitude peak on each lead. Peak P is associated with Atrium depolarization, QRS waves associated with ventricle depolarization and peak T associated with ventricle repolarization. The PQRST peak values on each lead to date are still manually calculated using small boxes on the ECG paper. Manual calculations lead to less accurate results and calculated waiting times. Less accuracy can lead to misdiagnosis while waiting times can result in increased disease stage. In this article we have been able to represent the values of PQRST amplitude peak and cardiogram in each cycle on each lead of the electrocardiogram. Continuous signal Electrocardiogram (ECG) examination results, in sampling at certain frequencies to obtain discrete data which is the amplitude as a function of integer numbers (N). The maximum amplitude value of each cycle is peak R. The peak time duration R to peak R (dR) is used as the time period of each cycle. A 1.5dR reversal of RN + 1 reverses the starting point of the cycle (sc) while the 0.5dR duration reversal of RN + 1 will be obtained by the end point of the cycle (ec). The maximum and minimum amplitude values between sc and peak R are peak P and peak Q respectively, while the minimum and maximum values between peak R to ec are peak Q and peak T respectively. Discrete data from Physionet MIT-BIH and bmeuwg are used as data to obtain PQRST peak electrocardiogram parameter values in each cycle.

Abstract

Tropospheric scintillation can become a significant impairment in satellite communication systems, especially in tropical regions with frequencies higher than 10 GHz, the attenuation is dramatically affecting the scintillation. This work concentrates on those aspects in equatorial Johor Bahru, Malaysia, based on a one-year Ku-band propagation measurement campaign, utilizing the equipment of Direct Broadcast Receiver (DBR) and Automatic Weather Station (AWS). This study investigates the relationship between wet scintillation and rain attenuation using experimental measurement and concentrate on the probability density function (PDF) of different scintillation parameters. From the results, it is concluded that wet scintillation intensity increases with rain attenuation. Thus, the relationship can be phrased by linear equations or power-law. The PDFs of wet scintillation intensity, adapted to a given rain attenuation level, are found lognormally distributed, leading to selection of method for determining the relation between conditional PDFs and rain attenuation.

Abstract

A harmonic source diagnostic analytic is vital to identify the root causes and type of harmonic source in power system. This paper introduces a verification of periodogram technique to diagnose harmonic sources by using logistic regression classifier. A periodogram gives a correct and accurate classification of harmonic signals. Signature recognition pattern is used to distinguish the harmonic sources accurately by obtaining the distribution of harmonic and interharmonic components and the harmonic contribution changes. This is achieved by using the significant signature recognition of harmonic producing load obtained from the harmonic contribution changes. To verify the performance of the propose method, a logistic regression classifier will analyse the result and give the accuracy and positive rate percentage of the propose method. The adequacy of the proposed methodology is tested and verified on distribution system for several rectifier and inverter-based loads.
