Drowsy driving is a major cause of road accidents worldwide, necessitating the development of effective drowsiness detection systems. Each year, there are more accidents and fatalities than ever before for a variety of causes. For instance, there were 22,952 fatalities and 79,545 injuries as a result of nearly 66,500 vehicle accidents in the last 10 years. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for detecting drowsiness based on behavioral cues captured by a digital camera and utilizing the multi-task cascaded convolutional neural network (MTCNN) deep learning algorithm. A high-resolution camera records visual indications like closed or open eye movement to base the technique on the driver's behavior. In order to measure a car user's weariness in the present frame of reference, eyes landmarks are evaluated, which results in the identification of a fresh constraint known as "eyes aspect ratio." A picture with a frame rate of 60 frames per second (f/s) and a resolution of 4,320 eyeballs was used. The accuracy of sleepiness detection was more than 99.9% in excellent lighting and higher than 99.8% in poor lighting, according to testing data. The current study did better in terms of sleepiness detection accuracy than a lot of earlier investigations.

Due to the disturbingly high quantities of pesticides found in recent years, it has become essential to analyze the food composition intended for consumption. In this study and from a similar angle, we are interested in the detection of alpha-cypermethrin insecticide residues in edible Swiss chard. To this end, we suggest an electronic nose that was constructed using metal oxide gas sensors. Following data collection and pre-processing, two machine learning algorithms—principal component analysis (PCA) and support vector machine (SVM)—were used to analyze the sensor matrix data. The PCA method initially showed that the first three principal components (PCs) may account for more than 96.5% of the sample variation with a clear distinction between known groups corresponding to treated and untreated samples. The identification of untreated Swiss chard from treated one was then accomplished using the SVM method with five folds cross-validation, with a success rate of 92.3%. These results show that our suggestion, which is quick, easy, and affordable, can be utilized as an effective substitute for current methods for identifying Swiss chard that has been treated with the hazardous alpha-cypermethrin.

The design of analog circuits is very essential for the development of system design based on electronics as the world is analog in nature. Furthermore, performance of emerging products depends on analog circuits for reduction of power dissipation and improvement of speed. Though in the system on chip (SoC) analog circuit consumes less, it is more complex to design it due to the analog circuit nature complexity. The job of the evolutionary algorithm (EA) in the process of optimization of an analog circuit based on complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) is to get the appropriate values that can be used for the design parameters of the given circuit in such a way such that all the targeted specification of the given circuit can be obtained. The chaotic serial particle swarm optimization (CSPSO) and cuckoo search (CS) algorithms are lower than to those found through the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and differential evolution (DE) algorithms. The CS algorithm obtained all the desired specifications with less power dissipation and the least total transistor area compared to those attained by the DE and PSO algorithms.

Many research groups are starting to pay serious attention to the problem of fractional-order circuits. In this paper, a new approach to designing fractional order low-pass filter (FOLPF) is presented. Finding a rational approximation of the fractional Laplace operator sα is a crucial step in the design of fractional order filters. A comparative study of the most widely used approximation techniques named continued fraction expansion (CFE) method and Biquadratic Approximation (RE) method is performed. Then the transfer function of the proposed FOLPF is calculated. Using operational amplifier, the proposed filter is synthesized. The proposed circuit is simulated using Texas instruments TINA software. The results obtained outperform the existing methods.

The paper primarily focuses on the ongoing research related to Z source inverter technologies (ZSITs) used in the transportation industry, particularly for electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid electrical vehicles (HEVs). It analyzes various topologies of ZSITs based on their mode of operation, capacitor voltage stress during active states and non-active state operations, DC link voltage before inverter module and line to line output voltage across the load. The paper compares the conventional trans-z source and two port quasi-Z source inverter model networks for multiple parameters and derives mathematical equations for both linear and non-linear loads. Practical and theoretical calculations match when using a modulation index of M=0.85 and a duty ratio of 1.414. The result obtained in this paper indicates that the proposed solution is better in terms of reduction in total total harmonics distortions (THD) percentage of 18.14% during the transition condition. All the analysis has been carried out with MATLAB based Simulink model.

Several studies by psychologists and computer scientists have verified the link between handwriting and writer gender. The texture of the writing image is a major indicator of whether it is male or female writing. This paper conducts a comparison analysis to examine the effectiveness of various local binary patterns (LBPs) techniques in detecting gender from scanned images of handwriting. We study different LBP variants, including complete local binary pattern (CLBP), local ternary pattern (LTP), local configuration pattern (LCP), rotated local binary pattern (RLBP), local binary pattern variance (LBPV), and multi-scale local binary pattern (MLBP), as features for representing handwriting images. A support vector machine (SVM) is trained using features from male and female writing. The method achieves encouraging classification rates of 76.68 when tested on subsets of the Qatar University writer identification (QUWI) dataset containing English and Arabic writing samples when using the experimental protocols of the International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR) 2013 gender classification competitions.

Utilization of elevation angles and azimuth angles is a very important part in maximizing solar energy into electrical energy in photovoltaic (PV). One way to maximize PV power output is to design a single axis tracker system and take into account the azimuth and elevation angles of the sun using the sun position calculator application. The single axis tracker system is set based on the position of the angle of inclination of the surface of the PV 45°, then the angle of 90° and the angle of inclination of 135°. The test results show that the single axis tracker PV system design can work based on the angle settings that have been programmed. Then the use of a battery control system to support the PV reliability system automatically cuts off electricity when the battery voltage drops below 12 V during cloudy weather conditions and excessive battery usage. The integration of the PZEM-017 module with the battery will support monitoring of battery power usage in real time. PV energy data conversion performance uses single axis tracker technology for maximum power reaching 631.72 Watt DC at 12.00 pm and the lowest power reaching 56.02 Watt DC at 6.00 pm.

The growth of the internet of things (IoT) increases the need to develop the trust computational model for heterogeneous networks with various IoT devices. Trust models are considered as an effective tool to mitigate insider attacks induced by IoT devices. However, trust models are exposed to on-off attacks, in which devices randomly exhibit good and bad behaviors to avoid being categorized as low-trust devices. The objective of this work is to recognize the malicious devices executing on-off attacks in IoT applications. This paper introduces an on-off attack detection strategy for the trust computational model based on the non-parametric index named intra-daily variability (IV). IV indicates trust fragmentation which depends on the frequency and the transitions between periods of low and high trust values of a device. The higher value of IV indicates the occurrence of fragmented trust values and the lower value of IV indicates the occurrence of non-fragmented trust values. Experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms the baseline methods by increasing the on-off attack detection rate.

This paper presented a closed loop buck-boost converter controlled by using proportional and integral controller (PIC) for photovoltaic (PV) applications. The mathematical equations of design the solar panel type KC200GT and buck–boost converter is illustrated. The electrical behaviors of solar panel are examined at 1,000 light radiation and room temperature (25 °C) situation. A PIC tuning is difficult with conventional methods such as graphs and mathematical analysis, so for that reason two approaches are used for tuning and optimization of PIC, particle swarm optimization (PSO), and Zeigler–Nichols (ZN). The suggested closed loop application through the converter preserves the constant voltage in the output spite of alterations to the input voltage, decreases settling time, overshoot and ripple voltage to minimum value that enhancement the efficiency of the converter. The results show that the PSO approach is improved than the ZN approach. The proposed model is constructed by using SimPower system tool box in MATLAB package.

This article discusses the factors that influence public transport users and the driver’s intentions towards ubiquitous features for public transport services. This study used convenience sampling for selecting tourists and a purposive sample to select bus drivers, taxi drivers, and trishaw pullers in Melaka, Malaysia, a popular tourist destination. The users' dataset contains three main results: factors influencing users' use of public transportation services, levels of user satisfaction with existing public transportation services, and elements influencing how often people choose to use the suggested ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The drivers' dataset, on the other hand, is divided into two primary sections: variables influencing drivers in delivering public transportation services and factors influencing drivers' adoption of the suggested ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The analysis included descriptive statistics on factors influencing users and drivers in using public transportation services, levels of user satisfaction with existing public transportation services, and factors influencing users' and drivers' adoption of proposed ubiquitous features for public transportation services. The findings can be used to investigate the demand for on-time delivery from public transport services.
