Abstract

One the factor that effect to assessment the learning mathematics is assessment. Performance assessment is assessment that require students to demonstrate the performance, instead of answering of selecting an answer from a range of possible answer are already available. With the discovery method is no longer expected students to memorize formula or concept. But knowing how to get formula or concept through the patterns drawn by your self, so if the students forget, they can reconstruct these patterns and will obtain the required formula or concept. The discovery method combined with cooperative learning model is based on the theory that students will more easily find and understand difficult concept when using this learning model. This research is descriptive research that describes or explains the event. The research is done at SMPN 3 Taman Sidoarjo and the subject of the research is students of class VII B. In this research, the effectiveness of the learning implementation is based on: (1) completeness of learning results, (2) student activities, (3) teachers ability to manage learning, and (4) student’s response towards learning. The analysis showed the students complete the implementation of the study. The ability of teacher to manage students learning activies and shows effective. While the response of students in the teaching-learning shows possitive. Therefore, it can be concluded that the fourth aspect of the effectiveness of the learning achieved.   Key words: Effectiveness, Performance assessment, Cooperative, Discovery method.

Abstract

This paper discuss about optimization theory and its application in finance model. The capital and the growth rate of a company are depend on amount of debt , share and dividends that are not distributed to the shareholders. Using Hamiltonian function, a company’s growth movement can be analyzed and the right time and amount of dividend that will be distributed can be determined. The assumption that used in this paper is generally ,the value of growth rate is smaller than banking interest rate.   Key words: control theory, Hamiltonian function, dividend

Abstract

This paper was prepared to analyze the effectiveness of government policies to increase the use of New and Renewable Energy (EBT) based on data obtained from the Pusat Data dan Informasi Energi Sumber Daya Mineral (Pusdatin ESDM). the rate of  EBT use in Indonesia is still low, recorded in 2010 remains at the 5% level. The Indonesian government seeks to encourage the increased use of renewable energy by at least 17% by 2025 (Presidential Decree No. 5/2006). By calculating the approximation of energy supply portion in  future based on the trends of energy supply portion changes  from year 2006-2010, it was concluded that the existing government policy now is not effective enough to increase new and renewable energy use as targeted by the government. from the approximation, it was calculated that supply of new and renewable energy in 2025 still amounted to 8.12% of the total energy supply. Through the optimization calculations using the simplex method, it was concluded that in order to achieve the target of new and renewable energy use by at least 17% by 2025, it would require the government policy to reduce the share of oil supply for a minimum of 1.989% per annum of the total energy supply as well as increasing the share of new and renewable energy supply a minimum of 0.903% per annum of the total energy supply. Addition and subtraction portion of each type of energy should not reduce the total supply of energy, because the national energy demand is increasing by years.   Key words: EBT, Pusdatin ESDM, the portion of energy supply, approximation, the simplex method.

Abstract

Mathematics education can not be separated from mathematics itself. Therefore, to assess the contribution of learning mathematics in the development of the character of the noble learners would be better if it first revealed the characteristics of the object of abstract mathematics, symbols empty of meaning, agreements and axiomatic deductive reasoning, and anti contradiction. The purpose of mathematics education must consider (1) the formal objectives, namely the arrangement of reason and the formation of the childs personality, and (2) the purpose of any material is the application of mathematics and mathematical skills. Some moral values ??in the learning of mathematics that deals with the characteristics of the mathematics that can be integrated with the Quran include: agreement, ketaatasasan / consistency, deduction, universe. Culture and Education Programme Nation character contains 18 values ??are developed, namely: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, respect for achievement, friendship / komuniktif, love peace, love reading, environmental care, social care, and responsibility. The development of character morality learners can be achieved by integrating Islamic values ??in the learning of mathematics, namely: the value associated with hablun minallah (relationship of a servant to God), hablun minannas, (relationship with fellow human beings), hablun minannafsi (myself), and hablun minal-alam (relationship with the environment),   Keywords: learning math, students character, noble character,

Abstract

Paper and pencil test has been said to have failed to provide a robust indication of student’s competence achievement. NCTM for instance maintains that a practical math assessment is needed for such a purpose. To measure students’ performance requires an alternative assessment instrument. An instrument which is not depending on a mere writing test alone (paper and pencil test), as underlined in KTSP. KTSP is a class-based assessment, which also calls for a throughout assessment through which students are asked to demonstrate their learned competence in more ways than one. As an alternative assessment, Performance assessment is too a class based assessment, consisting of two difference parts namely performance and rubric task. The former is referred to those open questions which necessitate students to solve them by showing the process (performance) of how they are done while the latter sets the guideline for grading and scoring student’s performance, based on assessment criteria which has been earlier prepared. Performance assessment is undertaken to particularly review and assess students’ tasks using which teachers could comprehend and collect thorough information regarding students’ knowledge of math, math strategies and communication. This research has been carried out to intentionally measure how math achievement of secondary school students’ has met its learning goal especially in sub-topics of triangle drawing using performance assessment. The data for this research were collected at SMP Negeri 2 Surabaya. This topic was purposely selected and deemed appropriate to comprehend students ability as it requires them to show their best ability to use anchor  and  ruler as well as how they appropriately follow steps in the process. The research question is how software development processes and results of performance assessment in mathematics learning in class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Surabaya?. Based on the research questions above, then the purpose of this study was to describe the development and yield performance assessment tools in learning mathematics for class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Surabaya. Subjects tested in this study is that VII H grade students represented by six students and VII B grade students as subjects for the implementation of performance assessment instrument. To answer the research questions above, this study was designed to study the development in accordance with fase model of development on the Plomp. This study used the instrument in the form of task performance, assessment rubrics, guidelines for student interviews and questionnaires. Data collection techniques used in this study is to provide the task performance, questionnaires, and interviews. The research found that the development of assessment performance instrument using  plomp development model on the sub-topic of triangle drawing will require five different phases, namely 1) initial investigation, 2). Planning, construction realization, test, evaluation and revision, and 5) implementation. Using plomp development model, a set of task performance assessment was produced in relation to triangle drawing sub-topic. it was stated that this task performance assessment:  (1) is Valid under in the view of the experts, (2) that the difficulty level of assessment task was low. The same is too found in rubric assessment.(3) that  the students could entirely complete performance tasks: the responses given by students are fully in accordance with what it is asked in performance tasks. (4) the students and the teachers have both agreed that the rubric could be well utilized for assessment purposes  (5) objective, the students relatively score similar result out of two assessment undertaken and therefore it is safe to argue that  rubric was an objective assessment. (6). Performance Assessment is seen as effective in that (a) rubric has indeed improved students performance (b) rubric paves the ways and render positive feed-backs  to effective learning due to : the students ability level  resulting from performance assessment are at Tuntas Category, and students responses to performance assessment were at positive category. (7) Reliable, the students score similar performance assessment results during the second test and as such it is concluded that rubric is has successfully produced a reliable assessment instrument. Key Words:  assesment, performance assessment, performance task, rubric

Abstract

This paper discusses a design instructional which is called as “Emergent Modeling” within an exemplary instructional  sequence on data analysis. The modeling can be distinguished into both modeling as “translation” and modeling as “organizing”.  In this paper, the “Emergent Modeling” fits a modeling as “organizing”. In this perspective, the model and the situation modeled are mutually constituted in the process of modeling activity. The “emergent” has two meanings, it refers to both process by which models emerge, and the process by which these models support the emergence of more formal mathematical reasoning. The “more formal” is meant to refer to the constitution of new mathematical reality. This is reflected in the exemplary instructional sequence, in which the model coevolves with the notion of addition up to 100 as an entity. Key words : emergent modeling, model as organizing, more formal mathematical reasoning,                                 instructional sequence.
