Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of students of class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari on teaching mathematics subject flat wake. Improved learning outcomes intended in this study is the average value over 75 and increased in every cycle test performed on each end of the discussion of the basic competencies and increased the percentage absorption per basic competence from one cycle to the next cycle. Efforts to improve the learning outcomes apply 9 adult learning principles RAMP 2 FAME (Recency, appropriateness, Motivation, Primacy, 2 way communication, feedback, Active learning, learning Multi sense, Exercise. The study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using a model of Kemmis & McTaggart. Subjects in this study were all students of class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Academic Year 2011/2012. The object of this research is the implementation of learning mathematics by applying 9 adult learning principles RAMP 2 FAME. PTK is accomplished in two cycles, each cycle was implemented in three meetings. In each cycle, the first and second meetings held for the learning and the last meeting held on the test cycle or daily tests per basic competence. The instruments used in the data collection in this study was achievement test. The results showed that there was an increase in students class X Accounting 1 SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari on the subject of flat wake up after the action by applying the 9 principles of adult learning RAMP 2 FAME. Improved student learning outcomes is evident from the increase in value of the average grade on each test cycles performed per basic competence. The average value of the class on the first cycle test is 66.68 increased to 76.19 in the second cycle, while the percentage of absorption increased from 45.16% in the first cycle to 51.61% in the second cycle.   Key words: adult learning, RAMP 2 FAME, learning outcomes

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk menganalisis tentang pengaruh penerapan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika dan self confidence. Populasi yang diteliti adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Yogyakarta tahun ajaran 2016/2017, dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 3 kelas yang berjumlah 102 siswa. Kelas VII E dijadikan kelas eksperimen 2 dengan treatment berupa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TPS. Kelas VII D dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dengan treatment berupa pembelajaran dengan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL. Kelas VII C dijadikan sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan prescale-postscale self confidence dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan statistic parametrik inferensial yang meliputi uji anova satu jalur (one way anova) dan uji tukey. Pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan PBL dengan model pembelajaran koopertaif tipe TPS memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PBL memberikan pengaruh lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan self confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) teachers' understandings of skill competency assessment; 2) the application of skills competency assessment in mathematics learning; and 3) teachers' problematics in applying skills competency assessments. This research used the qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The study was conducted in the academic year 2017/2018 and implemented in 9 junior high schools / Islamic junior high schools in the DIY region. Research subjects were 11 mathematics teachers who are selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collected through structured interviewing methods, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed by using inductive logic, from the particular to the general. The results show that: 1) teachers' understandings of skills competency assessment are quite good. Teachers understood the various instruments and assessment techniques but have not understood the assessment rubric used in each instrument yet; 2) the application of skills competency assessment has already done well but some were still constrained and have not accorded to the assessment standards; 3) teachers' problematics in applying skill competency assessment are: problems of understanding skill competency assessment, time, administrative complexity, student condition, assessment planning including the development of instrument and assessment rubric, and the implementation of skill competency assessment.Keywords: assessment execution, skill competency assessment, Curriculum 2013

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model equipped Course Review Horey (CRH) method compared to MMP learning model and conventional learning model  to increase motivation and student  learning outcomes. The study was conducted at grade VIII SMP N 3 Godean academic  year 2013/2014. This research is a quasi experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was 192 grade VIII students and divided into 6 classes. The samples of this research are 3 classes, which is the experimental class I, experimental class II and control class. The independent variable in this study are the learning model MMP and CRH method, while the dependent variable are the motivation and student learning outcomes. A questionnaire sheet of motivation scale and pretest-posttest learning outcomes collected the data. Data analysis techniques in this study using ANOVA test, but the previous test that is prerequisite test for normality and homogeneity tests to analyze the scale gain motivation and learning outcomes. The result shows that MMP learning model equipped CRH method is no more effective than the MMP learning model and the conventional model to increase learning motivation, whereas MMP learning model is no more effective than conventional models to increase learning motivation. This can be seen in the ANOVA test sig. 0.978 > 0.05. On learning outcomes, learning model equipped MMP CRH is no more effective method than the MMP learning model and the conventional model to improve learning outcomes. This can be seen in the Tukey test significance value of 0.05, sig. 0.319> 0.05 on the conventional model and sig. 0.456> 0.05 against MMP models. However, MMP learning model is more effective than conventional models to the improvement of learning outcomes. This can be seen in the Tukey test sig. 0.025 <0.05.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir kritis mahasiswa PGMI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dasar. Pemecahan masalah merupakan proses mental tingkat tinggi dan memerlukan proses berpikir yang lebih kompleks termasuk berpikir kritis. Pemecahan masalah juga mempunyai hubungan timbal balik dengan berpikir kritis. Berpikir kritis pada penelitian ini mengacu pada berpikir kritis dengan kriteria FRISCO. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pada penelitian ini diambil 9 subjek penelitian, yaitu 3 subjek pada kemampuan matematika dasar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian soal pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Ada 5 tipe masalah yang digunakan dalam soal pemecahan masalah yaitu: simple translation problem, complex translation problem, process problem, applied problem, dan puzzle problem. Profil berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika dasar menurut kriteria FRISCO pada setiap langkah pemecahan Polya sebagai berikut: a) Mahasiswa dengan KPM tinggi mengetahui fokus, alasan, situasi dan kejelasan dalam setiap tahap pemecahan masalah juga menjelaskan inferensinya pada setiap tahap pemecahan masalah Polya pada simple translation problem, complex translation problem, dan applied problem, tetapi belum dapat untuk 2 masalah lainnya; b) Mahasiswa dengan KPM sedang, mengetahui fokus, alasan, situasi dan kejelasan dalam setiap tahap pemecahan masalah juga menjelaskan inferensinya pada setiap tahap pemecahan masalah Polya pada simple translation problem dan applied problem tetapi belum dapat untuk 3 masalah lainnya; dan c) Mahasiswa dengan KPM rendah, mengetahui fokus, alasan, inferensi, situasi, klarifikasi dan memeriksa kembali pada setiap langkah pemecahan masalah Polya pada masalah simple translation problem, dan belum dapat pada puzzle problem, sedangkan untuk 3 masalah lainnya mengetahui fokus dan alasan hanya sampai pada langkah melaksanakan strategi, tetapi belum dapat mengetahui inferensinya. Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, kemampuan matematika dasar Abstract The purpose of this research is to describe the critical thinking profile of PGMI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students in solving basic mathematics problems. Problem solving is a high level mental process and requires a more complex thinking process including critical thinking. Problem solving also has a reciprocal relationship with critical thinking. Critical thinking in this study refers to critical thinking with the FRISCO criteria. The type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. In this study, 9 subjects taken, that is 3 subject to the ability of high-basic mathematic, medium, and low. Data was collected by way of tests and interviews. There are 5 types of problems used in problem solving tests: simple translation problem, complex translation problem, problem process, applied problem, and puzzle problem. The profile of critical thinking of students in solving basic mathematics problems according to FRISCO criteria at each polya solving step as follows: a) Students with high problem solving abilitys know the focus, reason, situation and clarity in every problem solving step also explain the inferences at each stage of solving Polya problem on simple translation problem, complex translation problem, and applied problem, but not yet for 2 other problems; b) Students with medium problem solving abilitys know the focus, reason, situation and clarity in each stage of problem solving also explain the inferences at each stage of polya problem solving on simple translation problem and applied problem but not yet for the other 3 problems; and c) Students with low problem solving abilitys know the focus, reason, inference, situation, clarification and re-examine each step Polya problem solving on the problem of simple translation problem, and not yet in the puzzle problem, while for 3 other problems know the focus and reason only to the step of implementing the strategy, but not yet know the inferences.
